His character in Ghostbusters (1984), Louis Tully, was originally written for John Candy. Moranis was brought in as a last-minute replacement when Candy dropped out. Moranis, Candy and Ghostbusters co-star Harold Ramis are all alumni of SCTV (1976). See more »
