Only a few years ago, Evan Rachel Wood was Lolita'd up, wearing heart-shaped glasses and having super-sexy sex on-tape with Marilyn Manson. It was one apt metaphor for a relationship between a couple with an eighteen-year age difference. Fast-forward to the present, and Wood has moved on, leaving Manson to do what he does best -- lather in controversial thoughts and stretch every boundary and opinion of decency. But this time, it's taken a new turn. His new video "Running to the Edge of the World" watches him sing with a tortured look in his eyes for a good four minutes before twisting into a domestic violence fest, a girl looking like Wood's doppelganger getting the living crap beat out of her and then looking around, scared, with blood dripping all over her.

• Sorta bad timing for Cosmopolitan's December cover featuring Fergie talking about how great Josh Duhamel is. She says he loved when she put on weight and he had "extra meat to grab." • Rihanna picked a good day to speak out about domestic violence. Just today, this trailer featuring Casey Affleck beating Jessica Alba popped up and then Marilyn Manson released a music video of him attacking an Evan Rachel Wood look-a-like. Both are Nsfw and disgusting. • Continuing on with what is apparently Domestic Abuse Awareness Day, Chris Brown is confused why some people "basically want me in jail." • Sarah Jessica Parker tells Elle, "I love the... »

Lily Cole isn't a household name in America, but in her native England she's achieved big success as a model (The Sunday Times ranked her the 77th richest young person in Britain). And she's begun turning that success into an acting career. I caught up the redheaded stunner this week in Beverly Hills at the press junket for Terry Gilliam's new The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, in which she plays Valentina, the long-suffering daughter of Christopher Plummer's titular Doctor, opposite Heath Ledger in his final screen performance. She's next set to star in something considerably darker – Marilyn Manson's feature film directorial debut, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll. Read what she told us... »

Dita Von Teese wants to be an "old-fashioned" mother. The burlesque dancer - who is dating Count Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, eleven years her junior, was previously married to goth rocker Marilyn Manson, is not sure what the future holds for her but is refusing to consider having children until she ties the knot again. She said: "I'd like to think that if I did have children I'd do it the old-fashioned way and fall in love and get married and then have children. "But I don't know what the future holds. Maybe it's on the cards for me or maybe it isn't. But it doesn't diminish me as a human being if it's not." However, the 37-year-old beauty is »

Ok, so it's a day early, but we would be remiss if we didn't celebrate Halloween. Originally a Celtic celebration that marked the end of the summer, Halloween means different things for different people. For some — mostly children — it's an excuse to gorge yourself on candy. For others — mostly young, drunk women — it's a reason to wear as little clothing as possible in public under the guise that they're dressing as a "sexy kitty." Still others use it as a justification for mischief, or simply the appropriate time of year to watch all of the films in the "Friday the 13th" series ("Jason Takes Manhattan" is my favorite).
Some people love Halloween so much that they live it year-round. Take Marilyn Manson, who has spent a career bringing together industrial-infused metal, Satan, scary make-up, David Bowie-esque posing and a cheeky sense of humor for a unique stew that frightens »

Assuming the wet, frosty weather in New York cooperates, the 2009 World Series will kick off tonight at Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees (featuring perennial All-Stars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez) will square off against the Philadelphia Phillies (who are the defending champs) in a best-of-seven series that will decide who the best team in baseball is. Unlike in past years, these two teams match up relatively evenly, as they both have explosive lineups, solid starting pitching and deep bullpens. According to most online betting parlors, the Yankees are the slight favorite, though it's really anybody's Series.
But that doesn't mean we can't handicap the teams anyway, and there's really only one way to really decide which squad will be truly dominant: Analyzing the at-bat music for key players on either side. A relatively new tradition at ballparks, just about every player in Major League Baseball has a song (or »

Making the jump from an indie to a major used to be a surefire way of being called a sellout, whether or not the bigger budget actually changed the artist’s music. Thankfully, that kind of deaf judgment seems to be a thing of the past, but hooking up with a major can still have the deleterious effect everyone used to fear back in the ’90s. Still a teenager in 2007, Robert Francis launched his career with the beautifully moody, self-produced One By One, but for his major-label follow-up, he and producer D. Sardy (Marilyn Manson, Jet, Oasis) have given ... »

Dita Von Teese (37) and the young hussy who wrecked her marriage to Marilyn Manson - whom you might know as Evan Rachel Wood - were recently in the same place at the same time. And, while the world didn't explode, the run-in did prove to be an awkward moment for Von Teese, who was able to resist tearing Evan to shreds. We're pretty sure she could have taken her out if she wanted to.(Not that we're advocates of fighting. Even if it would have been an incredibly hot fight between a sexy burlesque star and a 22-year-old vixen with daddy-issues...)The run-in went down on Thursday at Fashion Group International's Night of Stars, held at NY's C ... »

Chaos... yeah, you know already! I haven't peeked at any reports other than from the IFC Center in NYC, where Thursday's late-night preview of Lars von Trier's Antichrist filled three auditoriums and turned yet more people away. The reviews have been wildly mixed, with the disgusted detractors often just as fiery as the film's champions, but you certainly can't argue that this is a Halloween-appropriate provocation that gets people talking: A grieving couple (Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg) retreat to "Eden," their isolated cabin in the woods, where they hope to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse... After a Skype video conference with von Trier following last month's Nyff press screening (for further reading, see my recent interview with the Danish auteur), I shared some post-game commentary about Antichrist with freelance critic (and regular GreenCine Daily contributor) Steve Dollar, »

After learning that their music was played at loud decibels to torture Guantánamo Bay detainees during questioning, several artists are banding together to close the American naval base prison. Among the musicians joining the National Security Archive's campaign are Pearl Jam, R.E.M. and Trent Reznor. It has already been revealed through public documents that the torture playlist included Britney Spears, AC/DC, Marilyn Manson, Drowning Pool and the Meow mix cat jingle. A spokeswoman for the Joint task force Guantánamo maintains that loud music has not been used on detainees since 2003. [Yahoo!] »

"Saw VI" opens today and will no doubt rule the box office this weekend. Since the first film premiered in 2004, the "Saw" series has become an annual Halloween tradition and has gone from a simple forum for Rube Goldberg-esque death devices to a complicated web of mythology and character twists surrounding the killer known as Jigsaw.
The films do a few things correctly, as some of the kills are entertaining and they all have a delightfully filthy tone to them. But let's face it: They're not scary. Sure, "Saw VI" will provide the requisite amount of gore, but will there be any tension or terror? Unlikely.
In fact, rather than plunk down your 10 bucks to shrug your way through another kill-fest, you'd be better off working your way through some of the scariest, creepiest music videos ever created. These clips — from Nine Inch Nails' terrifying "Closer" to Interpol's twitchy, »

Gwen Stefani? Check. Eva Mendes? Yup. James Franco? You betcha. New York's Cipriani Wall Street was packed to the rafters with celebrities on Thursday for the 26th annual Night of the Stars. Also in attendance: Dita Von Teese and Evan Rachel Wood, who share a common ex-beau in the form of schlock-rocker Marilyn Manson. Bet they had an interesting conversation... Let's ponder that as we click through the photo gallery, shall we? »

A diverse group of musicians joined a coalition on Tuesday asking that the Obama administration close down the terror suspect camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Taking issue with their music reportedly being blasted at ear-bleeding levels in an attempt to break uncooperative terror suspects, artists including R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle and Billy Bragg announced their support for the National Campaign to Close Guantanamo, according to The Associated Press.
As part of their effort, the National Security Archive in Washington is filing a Freedom of Information Act request in an effort to uncover classified records that detail the use of loud music as an interrogation device. A November 2008 report by the »

If you were debating whether or not you wanted to see Benicio Del Toro in Wolfman because it was too folky and epic, how would you like it if the film was set to a generic rock tune?
Well, Universal Pictures answered your prayers with the newest trailer for Wolfman. It’s got more Benicio, more Wolf, and a Marilyn Manson soundtrack.
The film itself has had quite a tumultuous post-production. Originally, the film was set to have Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) as director, who later stepped down. Then, the studio met with names like Brett Ratner, Frank Darabont, James Mangold, and Martin Campbell, until finally deciding on Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer).
Once finished, the film bounced around with three separate release dates, two being in 2009, and then finally sticking to a release of February, 2010. It’s on record that January and February is where movies go to die. »

Universal is really pushing this sucker, it's rare when we get multiple trailers for a single film. Beyond the break you'll find the second trailer for Joe Johnston's The Wolfman, which arrives in theaters February 12th after many delays. The trailer still doesn't have me jolting in anticipation, and I find it pretty odd that they'd use an intrumentral rip-off of Marilyn Manson's "If I Was Your Vampire" for the footage. Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic will be set in Victorian England. Benicio Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence. »

Why settle for one controversial image when a half dozen will do? That seems to be the tactic Rihanna is employing on the cover to "Russian Roulette," the first single from her upcoming album Rated R. It's got everything: the giant, gleaming blade "R" logo; the blood-dripping track title; a sinister peek-a-boo eye patch; gold corset; and, of course, her provocative barbed wire-wrapped torso.
While it's just the companion image to her single (so who knows what the actual album cover will look like?), the edgy picture has already set tongues wagging and gotten us thinking about some of our other favorite envelope-pushing album artwork.

The superb British poster for Terry Gilliam’s latest folly The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (which opens today in the UK and on Christmas Day in the Us) is all in the details. The movie most famous for being the film Heath Ledger was in the middle of shooting when he died (and thus nearly yet another unfinished Gilliam project) is here pushing not Ledger, nor his none-too-shabby stand-ins Jude Law, Colin Farrell or Johnny Depp, but doll-faced British supermodel Lily Cole. At first and even second glance the image of a pale, naked, child-like red-head with a blank stare seems deliberately reminiscent of the notorious Blind Faith album cover designed by Bob Seidemann (look it up if you have to). It also has an obviously Alice in Wonderland quality to it, so it seems almost redundant that Cole will next be starring as Alice in the equally verbosely titled »

Dita Von Teese will never be a pop star because she can't sing and dance at the same time. The burlesque dancer - who was previously married to goth rocker Marilyn Manson - has refused offers to launch a music career because she can't multi task on stage.
She said: "I'm not a good singer. I have recorded some songs in that Marilyn Monroe style but I lip synched them when I performed them at The Crazy Horse Paris. It would be much too difficult to sing and dance burlesque at the same time!"
"I know myself and what makes me different. No one could sell me an idea of a formula for success for a pop star. No one could talk me into that."
Dita has also slammed the new crop of rival burlesque performers, claiming she is more committed to the profession because she was in the industry before it became popular. »

Yesterday became a lot more interesting around 3:30pm. I'd just returned from a quick trip to Babies 'R Us with my wife and daughter when I discovered an email from a producer at CNN. They asked me to call them Asap about a story they were planning for last night's edition of Anderson Cooper 360 aka AC360.
CNN was setting up a story about Richard McCroskey - aka "Syko Sam" - an aspiring horrorcore rapper that is accused of murdering four people in Farmville, Virginia last month. Our own Matt Molgaard (who also raps under the name InstantLegend) was interviewed by the Richmond Times-Dispatch about the case on September 24th. In response, Matt wrote a blog we briefly posted here on Fangoria.com, but pulled after we all agreed that in the interest of good taste and respect for the families, it was best not to draw further attention to "Sam. »
