Malin Akerman is ready to go Atomic.
The "Watchmen" beauty is set to show off her singing voice once again as she signs on to play Blondie frontwoman Deborah Harry in "Cgbg," according to Variety.
Blondie was founded in 1974 by Harry and guitarist Chris Stein and is considered a pioneer in the American New Wave and punk scenes that started explode in the mid-'70s. However, Blondie went on to become Top 40 hitmakers after the release of their album "Parallel Lines" (1978), which featured such hit singles as "Heart of Glass," "Hanging on the Telephone," "Sunday Girl" and "One Way or Another."
Blondie were regulars at such New York venues as Max's Kansas City and, of course, Cbgb. "Cbgb" chronicles the rise of this now-defunct hotspot, which was founded by club owner Hilly Kristal (to be played by Alan Rickman in the film). Akerman joins a cast that includes Rupert Grint »

Her shot at playing Linda Lovelace probably didn’t go as planned, so it’s time for Malin Akerman to take on a classier figure — if Blondie can be considered “classy” in the first place. ShowBlitz has learned that the actress will be seen as the ’80s icon for Cbgb, an account of the infamous New York City rock club and its owner, Hilly Kristal, who Alan Rickman will inhabit; his Harry Potter co-star, Rupert Grint, is expected to play Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome.
Past reports have indicated that these three will be the central figures of Cbgb, and when one looks over the club’s history — in terms of performers, events, and societal significance — you get some idea of the scope director Randall Miller (Bottle Shock, Nobel Son) will be aiming for. Demi Moore is to return to the big screen in 'Very Good Girls'. The 49-year-old actress - who has not worked on a movie since she sought treatment in rehab at the beginning of the year - is set to star as the mother of Elizabeth Olsen's character in the movie, which will also feature Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard. Dakota and Elizabeth will play best friends who make a pact to lose their virginity during their first summer after high school, but the pair find their friendship is tested when they both fall for the same guy, Deadline reports. Demi Moore has signed up for her first film since a medical emergency put her career on hold in January.
The 49-year-old has signed on to star in Very Good Girls, opposite former California school pals Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning.
Moore will play Olsen's mother.

Amanda Seyfried has given a glimpse of her transformation into porn legend Linda Lovelace, posing for a flesh-flashing photo for the upcoming biopic's promo poster.
The Mamma Mia! star sheds her wholesome blonde image to play the late adult movie actress in Lovelace, which also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Wes Bentley, and Chloe Sevigny.
A promo poster for the film has now been unveiled, and it shows Seyfried vamping it up in a dark wig and heavy make-up, teasingly pulling down her blouse to reveal her lacy red bra, alongside the tagline, "X marks the legend".
Seyfried took over the role from Kate Hudson last year after the Almost Famous star fell pregnant. Lovelace is due for release later this year. »

Much as there are competing Alfred Hitchcock flicks, there are also competing Linda Lovelace flicks. Both Lovelace and Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story are racing down the stretch toward the finish line, but it appears Lovelace has pulled ahead...no pun intended.
Rob Epstein and Jerry Friedman's Lovelace is now officially categorized by IMDb as being in post-production, whereas Matthew Wilder's Inferno is still in that ugly netherworld known as pre-production (often referred to as "so, are we gonna make this movie or what?").
Lovelace recently solidified its lead in what we at Planet Fury like to call the Lovelace Sweepstakes by releasing its first poster, giving us a look at Amanda Seyfried in her Linda Lovelace makeup, which appears to be just blue eye shadow, pink lipstick and rouge (I'm guessing this performance will be all about costume, attitude and Seyfried's smoldering saucer-size eyes).

Saucery ahoy! The internet has laid its grubby paws on a new poster for Amanda Seyfried's new Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace, and it's got all the come-hithering you could possibly need on a dank Thursday. If you need any at all. And we're not saying you do. That Seyfried makes a suitably seductive Lovelace is pretty obvious from a poster that's at least 142% more sultry than the Tyrannosaur one-sheet. Warning: do not look directly into the hair. With Lovelace, Howl directorial pair Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman have steered another sexually-charged biopic to the screen. Well, isn't that lovely.
The biopic "Lovelace" has released its first image of Amanda Seyfried as the title character, famed porn star Linda Lovelace, and she's dressed (or undressed) about as you would imagine. Additionally, it appears that the normally blond Seyfried goes brunette in the period piece.
In addition to Seyfried, the movie features Peter Sarsgaard as Chuck Traynor, Lovelace's husband, and Sarah Jessica Parker as women's rights activist Gloria Steinem. It's set for release later this year.
"Lovelace" isn't the only biopic about the porn star coming up either. "Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story" is set for a 2013 release. The film features Malin Akerman in the title role.

We're pretty intrigued by Amanda Seyfried's upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic "Lovelace," and the latest poster for the flick leaves a lot about the film to the imagination. The fairly straightforward poster shows Seyfried posing seductively in a lacy red bra with the caption "X marks the legend."
The image comes courtesy of Latino Review, and they also seem pretty unimpressed with the image, calling it "lifeless." The marketing campaign for the movie so far has been pretty PG-rated, which is impressive because the flick is about the career of a porn star. Maybe the folks behind it are trying to have the project seem less risqué because they're trying to appeal to a wider audience, but we'd be lying if we said we didn't like the "Deep Throat" poster created for the film more.
