Yesterday, we posted a clip of Jonah Hill recounting for David Letterman an unfortunate tale of identity-theft via a mischief-making Twitter impostor. We mistakenly attributed it to the wrong fake Jonah Hill -- turns out the Funny People star attracts a large number of tweetalikes -- but a commenter directed us to the correct account, called JonahHill_Jew, and to the full confession of the man behind it.

Ah, we do so enjoy tearing down that which we love. With the Harry Potter series of books and movies being perhaps the most successful franchises of their kind in this or any other lifetime, it's only natural that it would be the most spoofed bunch of stories as well. From The Simpsons and MadTV to stage musicals and RiffTrax commentaries, there have been hundreds of parodies since the Pottermania first swept the world. Here's just a tiny handful:
1) The jokes began in earnest with the huge popularity of 2001's film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. That year, David Letterman offered up the Top Ten Signs That Your Kid is a Wizard. Among them: "You say, 'Do you think that lawn is gonna mow itself?' But then it does," "His homework ate the dog," and "You catch him in the bathroom polishing his wand."
2) Also from 2001, the Mad magazine parody,

"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson has been hard at work promoting the newest installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise, and Watson has proven to give one hell of a good interview. First, she told David Letterman that at least she was wearing underwear during her recent wardrobe malfunction, and now she's gone into awkward detail about what it was like to kiss co-star Rupert Grint for the two-part finale of the franchise entitled "Deathly Hallows." This girl is fun.Speaking to MTV News, Watson revealed that she was incredibly nervous before the kiss. Said Watson, "I was like, 'Do I use tongue? Do I not use tongue? Do I cover my teeth? Hey, guys! I'm so glad y'all made it out to see me in NYC, just gonna stop in here and chat with David Letterman real quick! Do you guys like my costume? I'm really into it. It's like the new-new Kelly Clarkson: a forest gypsy lady meets a frumpy housewife type of look. You know the style—all sorts of unnecessary layers! Anyways, I am a little worried about my jeans, you know? It's like they're sooo flared out that it looks like I have elephant feet. Do you think my highway patrol sunglasses will be enough to distract Dave? Ok! Thanks for coming, you guys! See ya at the county fair next week, right? I hope they give us free drink tickets.

In Sacha Baron Cohen's new film Bruno, there is a scene where Cohen's flamboyant Austrian fashion television host character interviews Ayman Abu Aita, who is depicted as a leader of a terrorist group from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. Bruno approaches Aita in hopes of being kidnapped by a jihadist group in an effort to become famous in America. Many of you may have seen Cohen's appearance on David Letterman, explaining the challenge of setting up and filming an interview with a probably dangerous terrorist (if you haven't seen it, check it out embedded after the jump). Well apparently Aita is angry, claiming that Cohen duped him into the interview (as he does with everyone in the movie) and is even considering legal action. Apparently Aita isn't a terrorist leader, and is no longer involved in terrorist activity. According to Wnd, Aita served in the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades

Just because Bruno is out in the theaters now doesn't mean that the controversy surrounding it is going to end any time soon. The latest: a "terrorist" who was interviewed by Bruno is looking for damages. Legal damages, that is.
It's a scenario that Sacha Baron Cohen had anticipated with some trepidation on his rare out-of-character appearance with David Letterman last week. After describing all the hoops he had to jump through to set up the first ever real interview between a comedian and a terrorist, he commented that this was one victim he really didn't want to see his movie.
Whether Ayman Abu Aita, labeled as a terrorist from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in Bruno, has actually seen the movie is still unclear. But he has definitely heard about it now, and he's furious at the way he was depicted. Apparently part of his complaint is that he is not,

Sacha Baron Cohen, whose latest movie send-up, “Bruno,” debuts this weekend, manages to amuse and outrage, again, and not just the hapless unsuspecting dupes who appear in the film. The movie, which derives its comedy form homophobic stereotypes, is drawing a firm rebuke from The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The British comedian, who has been promoting the movie like mad – he appeared on “David Letterman” to read the Top Ten – couldn’t have asked for a better foil to help publicize the movie.

Hermione herself, Emma Watson, charmed David Letterman and everyone watching when she sat down to push the new Harry Potter movie Wednesday night. The Potter movie premiered Tuesday in London in the pouring rain, and her vintage dress at one point needed a little readjusting and she accidentally showed a flash of underwear. 'Tell us what's going on here,' said Letterman as he held up a picture of the incident. 'This was a small wardrobe malfunction, it happens,' Emma laughed, adding, 'At least I'm wearing underwear.' She added, head in hands, 'I'm still learning, I'm still learning!' Watson also confirmed to Dave that she will be starting college in the Us this fall, although the institution of higher learning went unnamed. Watch: Follow HuffPo Entertainment On Twitter!...

Sacha Baron Cohen made a rare break from character to promote 'Bruno' on Letterman as himself Tuesday night, but he was back on the show Thursday as Bruno to deliver the Top Ten List in a Viennese accent and gold jumpsuit. Maybe his dual identity allowed him to double up on appearances? The top ten reasons to see 'Bruno' (which opens today) include: "It's like 'Transformers' but not as gay," "Features lots of suggestive worlds like 'Bratwurst' and 'Schnitzel'" and "Bruno is a flamboyantly gay entertainer who makes people uncomfortable, like David Letterman." It's the second time this week we've shared with you Top Ten lists from David Letterman that have not just a movie connection but also a movie character. First it was Optimus Prime from Transformers and now it's Brüno.
I thought it was interesting earlier in the week when Sacha Baron Cohen did the Letterman interview as himself - as with Borat, he's mostly appearing in character on the press circuit - but this is the payoff a couple days later.
Expect more than one gay joke...

"So embarrassing!" says Emma Watson when talking about a wardrobe malfunction she experienced during the London premiere of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" on Tuesday night, July 7. At that time, she hit the event's red carpet donning a sexy dress which quite showed off her cleavage.
"This was a small wardrobe malfunction," she told David Letterman on his TV show "Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday, July 8. "I don't really remember when this happened ... At least I'm wearing underwear."
Emma Watson currently is working on the production of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II". Recently, the 19-year-old actress shared her experience of kissing Rupert Grint, who portrays Ron Weasley, on the seventh and eight installments of the "Harry Potter" films.
"Rupert is like a brother to me, and our relationship couldn't be more platonic," Watson said. "So kissing him - well,

Emma Watson, who plays the good witch Hermione in the “Harry Potter” film series, displayed a little magical charm of her own when she appeared on the David Letterman show last night (July 8). Dave asked her to explain her wardrobe malfunction during the Harry Potter premier in London on Tuesday. Let’s just say Watson held her own against the cranky talk show host. Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and the film's other stars, Robbie Coltrane, Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gambon, Bonnie Wright, Helen McCrory, Tom Felton, Jessie Cave, Evanna Lynch and Matthew Lewis attended the premiere in a pouring rain.

DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen has, as of July 6, totaled $299,762,339 in domestic ticket sales and $307,921,442 in foreign ticket sales for an accumulated box office take of an astonishing $607,683,781 worldwide. That's in only it's first 13 days of release, folks!
Perhaps not surprisingly, Optimus has been shamelessly plugging (or as his Transformer's co-star Megan Fox likes to say, "prostituting") himself recently as part of the larger strategy to promote the film. Most recently was his appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman, July 6.
The Autobot leader lent his vocal talents to the show's Top 10 list, in this case, the top ten things that sound cool when spoken by a giant robot.
It is kind of cool, particularly when you stop to consider that some serious time would have needed to be spent rendering CGI for this segment. In the event that you missed it, we present it below for your viewing enjoyment.

Given Queen Latifah's emotional eulogy at Tuesday's tribute to Michael Jackson, many of us, naturally, assumed she and the King of Pop had crossed royal paths at some point. However, on the Late Show last night, Latifah revealed to host David Letterman that simply wasn't the case. "I never actually got to meet him," she said. "My partner met him because we managed Naughty by Nature, and they did a remix with him. He thought I had beautiful cheekbones—I do know that much." But in a way, her lack of contact with the late singer makes Latifah's memorial appearance all the more poignant—she, like most, only met the man through his music. "It was just...

If you’ve witnessed any episode of HBO’s “Da Ali G Show,” the 2006 film “Borat” or its upcoming spiritual follow-up “Brüno,” then it’d be very easy to come to the conclusion that Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedic chameleon without equal. You would be wrong though. There also a not-so-little somebody that may or may not have gone by the name of Andy Kaufman.
Like Cohen, Kaufman’s entire routine depended on the idea of deception: deceiving his co-stars and unwitting participants at times, but always shocking his audience in one form or another. The two entertainers had their own sets of characters but the alter-ego personas definitely share some common traits, if only in method and on a thematic level.
In 2006, Cohen broke out into the mainstream with his bumbling man-out-of-country character in “Borat,” a Khazakstanian journalist who travels to America in order to learn the secret ways of its populace,
