Episode Recap: Charlies Angels - 1.08: "They Are Not Saints"

30 January 2012 11:22 AM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

The title suggests another reference to angels, since they are only angels and not saints, who serve a higher purpose. The angels are out jet skiing and Eve (Minka Kelly) is hailed to save a man who was washed up on the beach. She manages to revive him but he has no recollection of anything. Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez) thinks the man likes Eve, whom they've taken to calling Hugo since he was dressed in a Hugo Boss suit, as they tell Charlie (Victor Garber). Abby (Rachael Taylor) adds she did go mouth to mouth with him, i.e giving him the kiss of life. Funny Abby should get this line seeing as this episode was hyped to contain a kissing scene between Abby and Eve. However, Rachael and Minka did kiss during filming of this episode, most likely as a publicity stunt. There was however, no such scene actually in the episode, »

Five things we'll miss most about "Chuck"

27 January 2012 9:52 AM, PST | AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news »

I'm not looking forward to Friday night. I am as ready as possible, with plenty of junk food and beer and tissue, but I still don't know how I will say goodbye to Chuck.

But at 8 Et, I will silence my phone, settle into my recliner, and watch the two-hour finale, as a five-year relationship comes to an end.

I have so many feelings.

Chuck tells a story that many of us relate to: A fairly ordinary, but brainy, underachiever suddenly finds himself with superpowers and secret missions to save the world, surrounded by dangerous villains and beautiful women. Terrified and clumsy as he is at first, our hero grows into a confident, capable agent — even when his special abilities are taken away.

But my love of Chuck goes beyond the story. It even goes beyond Sarah Walker.

If you're still breathing, let's look at five of the best things »

Episode Recap: Charlies Angels - 1.06: "Black Hat Angels"

23 January 2012 8:32 AM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

The scene opens with Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez) being chased by police officers. As an appropriate soundtrack plays over the chase scene, he is arrested and proclaims his innocence. 24 hours ago Eve (Minka Kelly) finds a postcard for Bosley from Paris but it doesn't have a message. She comments no one's taken her there. She also adds, "Maybe it's your lost love trying to heat things up again." That could have been true, see my comment later. If nothing else Eve knows Bosley's middle name is Eduardo. Bosley: "I like to keep my private life, private." That's not what he would have said in the previous episode and if that's the case it must be difficult if he talks in his sleep. A lost love doesn't seem possible. He also tells Eve. Abby (Rachael Taylor) and Kate (Annie Ilonzeh) bring caffeine and carbs. Charlie (Victor Garber) hands them a missing person's case. »

Episode Recap: Charlies Angels - 1.05: "Angels in Paradise"

19 January 2012 9:36 PM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

Charlie's (Victor Garber) old friend's yacht is hijacked by Mercer (Pedro Pascal) who is wanted for kidnapping. He demands a $5 million ransom. "My angels were the answers to his prayers." Hey Bosley said similar in 1.4 Angels in Chains, "They do answer my prayers," he tells Samantha. Abby (Rachael Taylor) comments on this being another day in paradise when they go ahead with the rescue. Eve (Minka Kelly) and Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez) dive underwater and they reach the yacht that way. Abby demands proof of life and Mercer shows him the boy. They fight the kidnappers and Abby does her 'Xenia Onatopp' (Famke Janssen) impression from the 007 Goldeneye movie. (But not as suggestive.) Mercer escapes overboard and the explosion is so fake CGI. Theo, the boy, draws a pic of the angels but leaves out Bosley. He got footage from the card on the camcorder of a mother and son. Charlie calls Bosley, »

Episode Recap: Charlies Angels - 1.03: "Bon Voyage, Angels"

13 January 2012 6:52 PM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

4 years ago: a policeman tells crooked cops how not to spend their ill-gotten gains. Kate's (Annie Ilonzeh) fiancee still doesn't know about her . They're family he says. Kate hears a noise and chases after the reporter, Amanda (Tahyna Tozzi). She's working to expose them all and Kate takes her photos, like that will prevent her from writing the story. Amanda asks why Kate is doing this as she's not like the others. Kate lets her go. Today: Abby (Rachael Taylor) comments that when they run after the bad guy, Eve (Minka Kelly) always takes the car. Their client, Scott (Eric Aragon)is engaged and has hired the angels to find his missing fiance who disappeared on a cruise ship. The case isn't in their jurisdiction. Charlie (Victor Garber) also says there's no evidence of foul play. Charlie names the reporter as Amanda. Eve: "a blast from your past." Kate says she destroyed her career. »

Cheers & Jeers: NCIS — Love is Murder!

11 January 2012 6:27 AM, PST | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

Jeers to NCIS for killing yet another romance.

It's become a running joke on CBS' top-rated procedural that almost any love interest for the regulars ends up either killing or being killed. Earlier this season, everything wasn't Ducky for David McCallum's Me after he discovered his angelic girlfriend (Cheryl Ladd) was a devilish psycho. And now, Ziva's on-again, off-again love connection Ci-Ray (Enrique Murciano) pops the question — and Cote de Pablo's Mossad vet uncovers evidence he gunned down an innocent woman while pursuing a terrorist.

'Chuck' star Yvonne Strahovski: Chuck and Sarah will have 'something taken away from them'

11 January 2012 5:50 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Before shows take their final bow, it’s not uncommon for them to pump up the final adventure with talk of higher-than-ever stakes and grand risks. But the important thing to remember about Chuck is that they’ve never shied away from risks and genuine danger. (One such example of that danger resulted in the death of Chuck’s dad in season 3.) So it’s hard not to imagine the grave possibilities of what star Yvonne Strahovski meant when she ominously teased what’s to come on the final episodes of the cult-favorite action-adventure series.

“Something very unexpected happens,” she says. »

Chuck Exclusive: Yvonne Strahovski Teases "Edge of Your Seat" Finale

11 January 2012 3:43 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

"On the edge of your seat 'til the very last minute of the series finale" is how Yvonne Strahovski described the end of Chuck to me over the phone early Tuesday afternoon.

I've been sitting that way through the entirety of this final season, of course, which is why I was extremely pleased to talk to the star that portrays Sarah Walker on our favorite NBC spy comedy, as she spent the day in New York promoting Chuck and her new ad campaign for SoBe.

Yvonne Strahovski Speaks to TV Fanatic

"There are definitely going to be some surprises," Strahovski said of the two-part finale. "There definitely was for me when I read them. It's a little bit shocking. The storyline sort of takes a turn that is unexpected."

I was pleasantly surprised to hear of some sort of a shift in the story as we head down the final stretch of the series. »

Chuck Ep. 5.08, “Chuck Versus the Baby” is a slight misstep, despite the charming moments

Chuck Review, Season 5, Episode 8, “Chuck Versus the Baby”

Written by Rafe Judkins and Lauren LeFrac

Directed by Matt Barber

Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC

From the beginning, the relationship between Chuck Bartowski and Sarah Walker has been the driving force behind Chuck. She began as his CIA handler, they started dating, and she ultimately fell for him. Their relationship has pushed Chuck to become more confident on missions and at home. As they’ve grown closer and become a couple, Chuck and Sarah have become a stable force. It’s a positive change for their lives, but it doesn’t always lead to fascinating television. This situation has hindered Sarah during this season and pushed her to the sidelines far too often. She’s playing a necessary role in Chuck’s life but seems less essential to the ongoing story. This has nothing to do with Yvonne Stahovski »

Chuck Versus The Baby to Bring in New Year

Chuck Versus The Baby to Bring in New Year

It’s New Year’s Eve and I’m sitting here preparing myself mentally to talk about this week’s Chuck. Don’t worry; this isn’t how I plan to spend my entire night. I’ll keep this review short. The quick version of this review is as follows: I have very mixed feelings about “Chuck Versus the Baby”. Parts of it were really well done, particularly the B-plot with Morgan, Alex, Ellie and Awesome. Balancing the positive with the negative, we have Sarah’s flashbacks and the majority of her questionable decision making process throughout the episode.

Let’s tackle that negative nonsense first. Just a few episodes ago Sarah made a big stink over Chuck going solo and not trusting Sarah with his plans. Now in “Baby” Sarah is primed and ready to do the exact thing she »

‘Chuck’ Season 5 Episode 8 Review: Chuck vs. the Baby

31 December 2011 6:45 PM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

Chuck ended the year on a high note with last night’s all new episode, “Chuck vs. the Baby.” Last week’s episode ended with quite the cliffhanger and watching this story play out the way it has, certain events definitely pleased viewers more than it did worry them. While the best episode of this season has already been claimed, this week’s episode was just as engaging and provided just as thrilling of a punch as expected.

Tim DeKay (White Collar) guest starred as a CIA handler who helped Sarah on a mission in which Sarah had to kidnap a baby for what turned out to be a dirty job. Five years later, that mission has come back into her life and brought not one but two lovely faces to smile about. What is so wonderful about this show is that it takes you to a place where you think, »
