California police reportedly will not pursue any criminal charges over an alleged scuffle at the family home of the late Michael Jackson in August. Tension in the Jackson family apparently developed when matriarch Katherine was briefly brought by family members to Arizona amid claims of fraud in Michael's will. Michael's daughter Paris Jackson publicly expressed fears about her grandmother's condition while Katherine was away, but her uncle Jermaine Jackson claimed that the grandmother was simply under doctor's orders to rest. This led to an alleged confrontation between Paris and her aunt Janet Jackson at the family's (more) »

Chicago – Hot on the heels of the wondrous 10 Most Overlooked Films of 2012 and the illustrious first look at The 10 Best Films of 2012 comes “The 10 Best Films of 2012, Part Two,” as rendered by Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com.

The best films of 2012 are a mixed bag, but there was incredible experiences in all of them, brought forth from a mix of old veterans, new voices and even debut filmmakers. There is less of the end-of-the-world theme of 2011 as if the end is near, let’s have a celebration. It continues to amaze me, now in my fifth year as a professional film critic, that the creative landscape continues to astound the senses and deliver the goods.

Of course there are several films that could have occupied the 10th spot on the list. They include the 2011 stragglers – “We Have a Pope” and “Footnote.” The notable documentaries – “The Central Park Five,” “Ai WeiWei: Never Sorry” and “Samsara. »

Janet Jacket & Billionaire Boyfriend Wissam Al Mana Are Engaged

26 December 2012 9:14 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Congratulations! Janet Jackson — Ms. Jackson, if you’re nasty — is engaged to her billionaire boyfriend of two years!

Wissam Al Mana gifted Janet Jackson with ”a huge, expensive [engagement] ring” earlier this year, according to a new report. The two lovebirds are currently planning a spring 2013 wedding.

“She’s afraid it will get lost, so she keeps it locked up!” a source tells Us Weekly of Janet’s engagement ring.

Janet and 37-year-old Wissam’s nuptials are set for this spring in Qatar and the “All For You” singer’s fiance will spare no expense for their wedding!

The affair “will cost millions,” a second Jackson insider reveals. “He is flying in all of Janet’s friends and family on private jets.” Janet has seven siblings and more than 20 nieces and nephews, so we have a feeling the wedding Will cost a lot of money.

Top Ten Movies of 2012

26 December 2012 8:30 AM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Deciding on the "best" films of any particular year is never an easy task, especially depending on how seriously you take that task. On the final page of this list of my top ten films of 2012 I've included links to my previous top ten lists from the years 2003-2011 and while the majority of the films on those lists remain favorites of mine, it's quite evident how much more seriously I take this process from one year to the next, not to mention how many more films I actually see each year. Going through the list of films I saw in 2012, I was pleased to see how much easier I found it to come up with movies I considered candidates for my top ten. Two thousand and eleven offered several good films, but I had a hard time making a list of ten I considered "great". This year, from numbers »

Check out the Poster and Trailer for ‘You Are Not Alone’

24 December 2012 6:35 AM, PST | Destroy the Brain | See recent Destroy the Brain news »

No, it is not a film about that Michael Jackson song. You Are Not Alone is an independent film that was started on Kickstarter back in May of this year. Shot during the month of July with the 4th being the backdrop to a psycho serial killer on the loose. Even better, the film is shot in a Pov perspective. It sounds ambitious but now that we got a look at the film via the trailer, color me interested. After watching the Kickstarter pitch video, the director, Derek Mungor, seems like a guy that loves genre cinema and is trying to do something different than the norm. Check out the trailer and poster below.

Synopsis

“Natalie is a college graduate visiting her hometown over the 4th of July. The night she arrives, she is stalked by a sociopathic killer.” ’You Are Not Alone’ is a motion picture with two very different stories. »

Glee Sees More Zizes

21 December 2012 10:03 AM, PST | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

She knows what boys want and she’s now making her return to the set of Glee. Ashley Fink portrays Lauren Zizes on the Fox series, but it has been some time since we saw her last. Prepare for another encounter.

The come back is a brief one. TV Line reported that the actress is scheduled to appear in a one-episode guest spot. The plot of her return episode revolves around a Sadie Hawkins Dance. You know what that means. Girls ask the boys. But who will Lauren set her razor sharp sights on?

Zizes episode is also Glee‘s very first of the New Year! It happens on Jan. 24 (9/8c on Fox). It is predictably titled, wait for it, “Sadie Hawkins”. Yes, that’s somewhat lame, but Glee more than makes up for it with the episode after. That one airs on Jan. 31 and wait until you see the title. »

'30 Rock' series finale production wrapped with Tracy Morgan singing songs from 'Thriller'

20 December 2012 6:10 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Hours after wrapping "30 Rock" Tina Fey tells Zap2it it was a thriller -- or at least its behind-the-scenes soundtrack was.

Fey and the rest of the cast, save Alec Baldwin who had finished earlier in the week, wrapped shooting "30 Rock" Wednesday (Dec. 19) night. And as had happened during all of the 134 episodes, Tracy Morgan cracked her up with his renditions of Michael Jackson songs.

"Last night there was a delay and as happens every time in seven years it ended up with Tracy singing songs from 'Thriller,'" Fey says. "It was the same three Michael Jackson songs so many times. Last night, it turned into an impromptu break dance party."

For the record, Fey did not break dance ,.. or moonwalk.

She did, however, "take my turn on the dance floor," she says. " I was more poppin' and lockin'."

The series finale of "30 Rock" airs on Thursday, Jan. »

It takes a lot to bring out Simon Cowell's softer side. But the normally acerbic X Factor judge choked up Wednesday night as he introduced the show's emotional tribute to the Sandy Hook shooting victims - in what he later said was an extremely difficult moment for him. Demi Lovato, LeAnn Rimes Duet With 'X Factor' Finalists

Simon Cowell is one shrewd businessman. Last night, when all eyes should have been on X Factor frontrunners Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar, he somehow managed to get us fixated on his manufactured girl group Fifth Harmony.

With only three acts remaining, it seemed like a slam-dunk going into the finals that either Tate or Carly Rose would walk away with the $5 million recording contract tonight. But after 5H's strong showing during the final performances, we can't help but feel like the show's setting us up for an upset. »
