In an era where actors seem to be migrating away from movies to television, David Hyde Pierce transitioned to theater 10 years ago when the hit comedy Frasier went off the air. In 2007 he won the Tony for Curtains, a musical in which he played a Boston cop investigating a murder in a theater. And in 2013 he was nominated for his performance as Vanya in Christopher Durang’s smash hit comedy, Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike, which won the Tony for Best Play. Pierce returns to the play as director for its Los Angeles run at the Mark Taper Forum through

Given that the ubiquitous Neil Patrick Harris will be plenty busy in a wig and heels as the lead in the upcoming Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, it was apparent he would not resume his envied tenure as Tony Awards Host Extraordinaire. But no fretting, as megastar Hugh Jackman (due back on Broadway next season in a new Jez Butterworth play) is picking up the baton for his fourth time as host. And it’s quite a year too, as the star quotient for the 2014 show is sky-high (Denzel Washington, Bryan Cranston, James Franco, Zach Braff, and »

The old characters from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show come blazing back into life with a zany adventure through important historical eras
Here's a likable, surreal and often funny animated feature written by Craig Wright and directed by Rob Minkoff (noted for The Lion King). It's derived from a recurring segment of the old 1960s Us TV show Rocky and Bullwinkle – a segment that I have to admit was absolutely unknown to me until now. Mr Peabody is a super-intelligent beagle (voiced by Ty Burrell) resident in a spectacular New York apartment who has been granted the right to adopt a human boy: this is seven-year-old Sherman (voiced by Max Charles). Mr Peabody is a finicky and precise but very caring foster parent, with a slight resemblance to Dr Niles Crane in the 90s TV show Frasier, as played by David Hyde Pierce. He wants to complete young Sherman's historical »

It was a star-studded night at Manhattan’s Pierre Hotel as over 150 artists — including stars Tim Gunn, Stephen Colbert, and Audra McDonald (and yes, even some Muppets) — came out to celebrate stage and screen star Neil Patrick Harris at the Drama League’s 30th annual all-star gala.
It’s no secret that Harris — who will soon be back on stage starring in a new version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which opens April 14 — has garnered quite an admiration from the communities he’s been involved in. But there was no question Monday night that Harris is admired for more than just his talent. »

Teen Wolf has added Dylan Sprayberry to the cast. Sprayberry, best known for playing a young Clark Kent in Man of Steel and a young Cooper Anderson on Glee, will appear in season four as a “perfect” student who isn’t ready for the supernatural craziness of Beacon Hills.
Max Greenfield has been booked to appear on an episode of The Mindy Project. It’s not a New Girl crossover since Greenfield won’t be playing Schmidt. That makes me a little sad since Mindy and Schmidt could make for some amazing relationship drama.
More Max Greenfield is always a good thing.
Allison Janney tells Digital Spy that she’s set to appear in the second season of Masters of Sex as the wife of closeted University Provost Barton Scully. Janney adds that they’re still figuring how many episodes she’ll appear in as they have to work around her Mom schedule. »
