As the saying goes: Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs to find a prince, and The Bachelorette enlisted the world's most famous frog to help in last night's group date.
Kermit the Frog and the rest of the muppets performed with Emily Maynard and her potential suitors in a charity variety show, benefitting Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The group date featured the guys singing, dancing and telling jokes, which gave them all a little stage fright, but none more than Charlie. The 32-year-old from Massachusetts suffered a horrific accident some time ago after a 15-story fall left him in a coma. As a part of his recovery process, Charlie had to re-learn how to read and speak, which has led him to an intense insecurity about public speaking, as he's still not comfortable with the skill.
Emily was sympathetic to Charlie's plight, reassigning him from »

Bachelorette 2012 eliminated Joe,Kyle, & Aaron in episode 2 tonight. Tonight's show, kicked off with Ryan finding out he got the first 1 on 1 date of the season. Emily ended up taking him to her house to have him bring in the groceries, and bake cookies, because she wanted him to see how things would work in real life with her. He appeared to handle it pretty well. Ryan appreciated Emily being totally real with him, and not putting on a fake show. Later on in the date, Emily took Ryan out to dinner, and she grilled him with tough questions, because she really wanted to make sure that no one is playing any games with her. Ryan handled it well, and got an early rose. After that, they watched a country music concert and danced. It looked like they had a good time. After the break, Emily took 13 of the guys on a group date. »

While nothing is in ink, plenty of interesting names have been linked with Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Gustafson’s (Fantastic Mr. Fox) upcoming 3-D stop motion animated take on the classic Pinocchio. As Slashfilm reports, Daniel Radcliffe (blimey, it’s Harry Potter) has approached Del Toro about lending his voice to the film, presumably as the wooden child who yearns to be a real boy. Del Toro has also listed Tom Waits, Christopher Walken and Donald Sutherland on his wish list. Tom Waits would voice Gepetto, and Walken or Sutherland would voice the fox. Honestly, it all sounds great to me. Get them all, Guillermo.
The Pan’S Labyrinth director is aiming for a 2014 release and a “more surreal and slightly darker” take than other adaptations of the 19th century book. This is already evident by Nick Cave’s involvement on the music front, and the fact that we »

What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today: • I like this movie, but still: Nooooo! Perennial basic cable favorite Ever After to become a Broadway musical • I think we all already know these things, but it's good to be reminded... Title • It's been 22 years since Jim Henson died... • People are talking about a John Connor curse...Terminator 3 star Nick Stahl reported missing • No festival should have quotas, of course, but why don't more women make films? This is a problem that needs solving... Cannes' female-free directors line-up criticized »

The trailer for the documentary Paul Williams: Still Alive has gone online. As I mentioned in my review from SXSW, it doesn't matter if you know of Paul Williams before you see the movie or not. For fans of the 70s celebrity who wrote "Rainbow Connection", "We've Only Just Begun", and other hit songs, it's a wonderful way to reconnect with a beloved performer. For those who are meeting Williams for the first time, it's great to see him through the eyes of director Stephen Kessler. The trailer does a good job of conveying how Kessler's adoration of Williams is the heart of the movie, and how Williams is confused about being the subject of a documentary. Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Paul Williams: Still Alive opens June 8th. Click over to Apple to see the trailer in HD. We'll update the story with an embed as soon as it's available. »

Emily makes the guys show a talent & more in ABC's 'The Bachelorette 2012" episode 2. We've got spoilers for the show, along with a promo clip after the jump. The episode looks pretty interesting from what I can tell as the guys will probably make fools of themselves in a talent show. In the new episode 2, sparks will fly between the men as they battle for Emily's time, attention, and affection. Emily makes them compete in a talent show, where they'll have to sing, dance, act,be funny,or something that Emily can find interesting about them. Also, the muppets Kermit the Frog and Miss snort face Piggy will be there as well to make it even more lame. Needless to say, things are pretty light right now. However, later on in the season, some drama will go down. Episode 2 airs Monday,May 21st at 8pm central time on ABC. »

Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy series director Guillermo del Toro has been working (in some capacity) on the Jim Henson Company’s 3D stop-motion retelling of Pinocchio since 2008.
Back in February 2011, it was announced he would produce the film – which is based on a darker treatment of Carlo Collodi’s partly-serialized 19th century novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio” – that del Toro co-wrote, in collaboration with Gris Grimly (the short “Cannibal Flesh Riot”) and Matthew Robbins. The latter also co-penned del Toro’s Mimic and collaborated with the filmmaker on the script for the Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark remake.
Reports are in that del Toro has decided to just go whole-hog on Pinocchio (fully titled… well, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and co-direct the picture, alongside Fantastic Mr. Fox animation director Mark Gustafson. Special effects will be ...

After failing to win over audiences as a latter day, burnt-out Jim Henson figure in The Beaver, Mel Gibson returns to more comfortable territory in the funny and surprisingly hard-edged prison comedy-actioner, How I Spent my Summer Vacation.
Narrating the action via a wry, seen-it-all-before voice-over, Gibson plays a career criminal who, in the opening scene (and dressed in a clown costume), is giving chase to both Mexican and Us police as he straddles the border, following a robbery which has left him with $4 million dollars of Mob money. Caught by the corrupt arm of that neighbouring law enforcement, he’s promptly dispatched to El Pueblito, a tough-as-nails prison village which wouldn’t look out of place in the post-apocalyptic landscapes he roamed as Mad Max.
In there, he meets a precocious, chain-smoking 10 year-old who is being mysteriously protected by the facility’s criminal rulers. Becoming a twisted surrogate father figure to the young chap, »

Maurice Sendak, the visionary writer and artist behind Where The Wild Things Are, has died at the age of 83.
Inspired as a child by Disney's Fantasia, Sendak became famous for his love of grotesque imagery and his unwillingness to make characters cute or situations safe, saying he refused to lie to children about the way the world is. As well as authoring several books and working as a theatrical designer, he worked in television, collaborating with Jim Henson, and produced a short animated film of his own. Imagery inspired by the films he loved suffuses his books.
Sendak had recently suffered a stroke and was in increasingly poor health. His partner, Eugene Glynn, died five years ago. Despite entertaining children all over the world, the author had none of his own but gave extensive support to the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services, the most likely beneficiary of his estate. »
