‘Marvel’s Inhumans’: 28 Thoughts We Had While Watching ABC’s Nutso New Trailer

21 July 2017 10:57 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

“Marvel’s Inhumans” is ABC’s next foray into the Marvel Universe, but it’s nothing like “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” or “Agent Carter” (Rip!).

As the title indicates, the majority of the series features a species of beings that were created when aliens started genetic tinkering with the human race when they were just still a primitive species. These Inhumans procreated and developed their own society separate from homo sapiens over millennia, and in present day, they’re ruled by the Royal family, which is where the series comes in.

American Horror Story” characters have been jailed, shunned, abducted, murdered and attacked with a very specific drill bit apparatus. Looks like Season 7 is out to prove it’s just as scary to get stung.

‘Death Note’: Controversial Netflix Adaptation Gets Mixed Reaction at Comic-Con

21 July 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

As soon as the “Death Note” movie was announced, controversy came with it.

The Netflix original film drew early ire for relocating the Japan-set story to the United States and casting a largely white group of actors in the main roles. Whitewashing claims have dogged the picture ever since, so it’s no surprise that director Adam Wingard was eager to show the film to fans.

“This has been a long time coming,” Wingard said, speaking before a secret screening of “Death Note” at Comic-Con Thursday night. “I’ve been on this film for a better part of two years. This is a film that’s had a lot of assumptions and expectations built on it, and the best thing we can do at this point is just show you the goddamn movie. I think we’re very proud of the film.”

As Comic-Con kicked off in earnest on Thursday, Syfy traveled across the galaxy to land on Superman’s home planet.

Although Superman, born Kal-El, is a hero to us mere humans, his family didn’t enjoy that kind of appreciation. The House of El was ostracized and shamed, and it was up to Seyg-El to fight to redeem his family’s honor and save his world.

That isn’t the only house name we may recognize. Among the cast are also Georgina Campbell (“Broadchurch”) and Ann Ogbomo, who play Lyta Zod and Alura Zod, respectively. »

Director Chris McKay Wants An Emotional And Grueling Nightwing Film

18 July 2017 9:45 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The recent news of a Dceu Nightwing movie caught most comic book fans off guard. Let's be honest, the announcement caught just about everyone off guard, particularly the majority of mainstream moviegoers who probably know little to nothing about the character. Given the Dceu's struggles over the past few years, one has to wonder if it's wise to introduce a Batman spinoff film while the the general public is still trying to wrap their heads around Cyborg, Shazam, and Aquaman movies.

However, if you take a step back, this might be the smartest, and slyest move in the entire Dceu slate. In Nightwing, not only do you have a younger and lighter version of Batman, there's also the aspect of being Batman's adopted son. Anyone who grew up with a driven, strong-willed parent knows it's no picnic growing up in their shadow. Additionally, modern superhero films really haven't dealt »
