One very generous and supportive fan of Felicia Day’s hit web series The Guild with a penchant for non-profit organizations that support after-school music programs and a few thousand dollars of disposable income ($3,300 to be exact) will make a cameo appearance in an installment of this Season Five of the gamer-oriented series with mass appeal. He or she will be happy to know he or she will be in good company. A helluva lot of celebrities are making cameo appearances this season, too. You may have noticed Author Neil Gaiman and original members of the Battlestar Galaticast Richard Hatch and Erin Gray showed up at the Megagame-o-ramacon in last week’s episode. This week’s installment reveals even more of those super secret guest stars Day and company hinted at earlier this year, but have kept hidden all season. Video: Season 5 - Episode 7 - Downturn

The action at Megagame-o-ramacon continues in the latest episode of "The Guild," with cameos by a couple of sci-fi icons thrown in.

Author Neil Gaiman -- held hostage by the demands of Zaboo's (Sandeep Parikh) Seat Savers Network -- original "Battlestar Galactica" star Richard Hatch and Erin Gray ("Buck Rogers in the 25th Century") all make appearances in the episode, which debuted online Thursday (Sept. 8) and which you can see up above.

(Highlight of the episode for us: Watching Vork (Jeff Lewis) lose his mind in the presence of Gray's character.)

Meanwhile, Codex's (Felicia Day) ongoing dilemma about whether she should quit the game and the Guild continues ("I hate being an adult!") -- although she puts off making a decision so she can try to fix one of Tinkerballa's (Amy Okuda) problems.

Paul Darrow on Blake's 7, Minister Of Chance and the Star Wars Mmorpg

5 July 2011 5:48 AM, PDT | Shadowlocked | See recent Shadowlocked news »

Generally, I have avoided trying to interview the personal heroes of my youth; it's too risky to one's cherished perceptions. But when faced with the opportunity to chat with Paul Darrow, the British actor who played the laconic and back-shooting anti-hero Avon of 'Blake's 7' (as well as the voice of Grand Moff Tarkin and other characters in 'Star Wars' videogames), I figured I'd take a chance. After all, if he shot me down in flames, at least he'd be in character...

I was, of course, delighted to find that Mr. Darrow retains all the charm and more of his most famous role without the accompanying barbs. Here we chat about Paul's excellent turn as Lord Rathen in the exceptional Sf/fantasy audio drama 'The Minister Of Chance', as well as how Avon came to shoot people in the back despite being the 'hero' of a major BBC sci-fi show, »

TV On My Terms: Rebooting the Small Screen

17 January 2011 1:31 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

In a move that continues to signal a creative drought in Hollywood, ABC gave a green light to a revamp of the classic series Charlie's Angels last week. It evidently wasn't enough that the Angels had a brief and rocky resurrection on the big screen.

"Reboots," as they've come to be known, seem to be all the rage these days. Occasionally, these revised attempts hit just right, such as the pitch perfect Battlestar Galactica and this season's Hawaii Five-0. As is more often the case, though, the results either scrape by (V, 90210) or are flat out failures (Knight Rider, The Bionic Woman).

It doesn't appear this wave is going to collapse any time soon, either, as attempts to bring back other series such as The Incredible Hulk and Wonder Woman are reportedly in the works.
