Ryan Reynolds Takes on Samuel L. Jackson In Red Band Trailer For The Hitman’s Bodyguard

5 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are both extremely charismatic performers, and in The Hitman’s Bodyguard they’re set to square off against one another in what looks to be a bloody action comedy. The conceit, as spelt out in this second trailer, is that Reynolds is playing Michael Bryce, a special protection agent responsible for ensuring his clients don’t get blown up, shot, decapitated or poisoned. But now he’s facing the trickiest job of his career in protecting Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), a hitman on his way to the International Court of Justice to testify against a bloodthirsty dictator.

The two clearly have some history which each other and try to murder one another the second they meet. As an exasperated Reynolds says, “he’s tried to kill me 27 times… 28 times!” What follows is a kinetic, fast-paced road movie buddy comedy, during which the two »

Hugh Jackman shares his thoughts on recasting Wolverine

9 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Now that Hugh Jackman has hung up the claws following the release of Logan, the actor has been chatting to Collider about the eventual recasting Wolverine, and how he would go about rebooting the fan favourite mutant.

“I think one thing we’ve learned: when X-Men started, it was pretty revolutionary,” said Jackman. “Like the comic book itself, I think there was an element of breaking conventions, of opening up in the concentration camp with a character, was not what people expected. I think X-Men has always been about asking questions, challenging norms and asking what’s going on. I’m not saying we’ve done that always, but I definitely think the spirit of Logan is in a way a reboot of that desire to keep taking risks and to ask more difficult questions, and to go deeper within the characters. In an irreverent way, it’s exactly what Deadpool did too. »

The Hitman’s Bodyguard Trailer: Reynolds And Jackson Channel The Spirit Of Costner And Houston

23 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Meet Michael Bryce. He’s a special protection agent, and a damn good one at that. But when Ryan Reynolds’ sharpshooter is assigned the role of bodyguard, one sworn to protect a world-famous assassin (Samuel L. Jackson) by the name of Darius Kincaid, things begin to get complicated.

This odd-couple dynamic is the fuel powering The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Patrick Hughes’ zany action romp in which Reynolds and Jackson channel the spirit of Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. The film’s tongue-in-cheek poster (see below) was enough to pique our curiosity, but Lionsgate has gone one step further today to dispatch the new and frankly hilarious final trailer.

Dialling the action up to 11, it’s a tantalizing tease of the studio’s upcoming feature, one that makes no bones about placing Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson’s duelling operatives front and center. In fact, their encounter is shaping up »

Logan was going to open with the death of the X-Men

25 May 2017 2:41 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Although Logan contained enough clues for audiences to get a pretty good idea of what happened during the ‘Westchester Incident’, but director James Mangold has revealed to IGN that he originally planned to make it much more explicit by opening the film with the death of the X-Men.

“I literally had written an opening which started with that sequence, and so it was quite literal, who was dead,” said Mangold. But the reason we didn’t do it wasn’t to spare other films, it was that it redefined the movie. It made the movie about the X-Men, instead of being about Logan and Charles. And irrevocably, when you read the script opening that way, it became about this other tragedy, as opposed to that tragedy being something hovering like a shadow in the background for these characters.”

X-23 unlikely to join a future X-Men movie, but may get a solo film

25 May 2017 4:46 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

One of Logan’s most popular characters was Dafne Keen’s X-23, stealing many scenes from the two powerhouse actors behind Wolverine and Charles Xavier.

There has been much talk about the character’s potential to pop up in future X-Men franchise movies, with Logan’s director James Mangold even teasing her return. But according to producer Hutch Parker, there are no definite plans for X-23’s future appearances, and that her appearance in an X-Men movie isn’t guaranteed.

“I don’t know definitively, but in terms of the stuff we’ve been talking about, it’s not sort of slipping her into the background of another movie. It’s looking at that character, which is a great character and has a pretty interesting run within the comics, to find a story that we think she could carry or certainly be kind of majorly significant within,” Parker said to IGN. »

“That Guy” Actor of the Day: Richard E. Grant

22 May 2017 10:00 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

The first time I saw Richard E. Grant was during a very late night viewing of a movie by the name of Warlock from 1989.    Grant had a starring role as Giles Redferne where he would take on the male witch who was played by Julian Sands.   The movie wasn’t even remotely good but I’ve always liked Julian Sands so I watched the film.  For whatever reason Grant left an impression on me and the funny thing is that after I saw that movie (which must have been in the late 90s) I keep seeing this guy’s face pop up.

Hugh Jackman reveals his two regrets from his time as Wolverine

21 May 2017 8:39 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Having brought the curtain down on a 17 year spell as Wolverine this March with the release of the critically-acclaimed Logan, Hugh Jackman has been reflecting on his time as the fan favourite X-Man, revealing to Collider that he only has two regrets.

“There were a couple of things I couldn’t work out how to do,” said Jackman. “Fans always say, ‘When are we gonna see you in the blue and yellow spandex? We’ve gotta see that shot!’ We tried a little bit in The Wolverine, it didn’t happen—on that plane at the end he opens up a box and there’s the suit, I think that ended up getting cut. So the suit was one thing but we just couldn’t work out how to do it, so if anyone can work that out you go for it. The other idea that I always loved was »

James Mangold talks Logan’s “happy ending”, Hugh Jackman was reluctant to introduce X-24

Warning. Major Logan spoilers follow…

With this year’s Logan, director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman delivered a rather fantastic end to Jackman’s 15-year stint as the fan favourite mutant superhero Wolverine, culminating in an emotional climax where Logan makes the ultimate sacrifice in order to save his clone/daughter Laura and her young mutant friends from his other clone, X-24.

While lots of tears were shed over the final scenes, James Mangold has revealed to CinemaBlend that he doesn’t view the conclusion of the film as a downer – quite the opposite in fact, as he sees it as a happy ending given the suffering Wolverine has endured throughout his life.

“Something gets born of every tragedy. In many ways, I look at the movie and I realize what a happy ending it is. At least from the perspective of Wolverine’s character. I think, unlike anything »

Logan producer says casting a new Wolverine is “not something I can think about”

19 May 2017 7:44 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Logan was a beautiful swan song for Hugh Jackman, and the character that he has cultivated for over 15 years. His Wolverine is the most fully realized comic book character put on film, and it would be no small feat to replace him. How do you replace an actor who is so tied to a particular role?

Well, according to Logan producer Hutch Parker, maybe you don’t. Talking to CinemaBlend, the producer shared his feelings about picking a new actor to fill Hugh Jackman’s shoes:

“It’s a great question. Look, I think for all of us, at the moment, and for some of us it goes back to the very first time Hugh put on the costume. The idea of casting someone else as Wolverine is just not something I can think about. [Laughs] And I don’t know. There’s part of me that thinks that he’s »

Logan director James Mangold teases Dafne Keen’s return as X-23

17 May 2017 11:18 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

When it was released in March, James Mangold’s Logan received near unanimous praise for Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the clawed mutant and former X-Man Wolverine. However, the film’s big takeaway, and breakout star, was Dafne Keen’s performance as Laura/X-23. The young clone quickly became a fan-favourite character thanks to Keen, and there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether we’ll see her reprising the role for a future X-Men movie.

Last night at the Alamo Drafthouse, Fox and Mangold held a special screening of Logan Noir, the black and white version of the film, followed by a Q&A session with Mangold, Jackman and producer Hutch Parker. In the Q&A, Mangold was asked whether or not audiences would see Laura again and if Mangold would once again direct Keen should she return. While it wasn’t fully confirmed, Mangold said »
