Celebrity Homes & Real Estate - Zsa Zsa Gabor Relists Bel Air Estate for $14.9 Million

18 May 2012 10:12 AM, PDT | National Ledger | See recent National Ledger news »

Zsa Zsa Gabor has put her house up for sale. The 95-year-old actress - who has suffered a string of health problems over the last two years - and her spouse Prince Frederic von Anhalt have listed the 8,878 square foot Bel Air property for $14.9 million because it has gotten ''too big to manage'', said listing agent Robert Erickson. The property - which nine-times wed Zsa Zsa bought in 1970 - includes seven bedrooms and a swimming pool on more than an acre of land. It was previously put up for sale last summer at $15 million, with the price reduced to $12.9 million in September before it was pulled from sale and the listing agent thinks it was initially priced too low. Robert said: ''We now feel it is priced to fair market value. ''It's a very elegant home, with Louis Xiv furniture, chandeliers and an oval entry. It's made for entertaining.'' »

Gabor's Bel-air Palace Back On The Market

Ailing socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor has put her Bel-Air property in Beverly Hills back on the market for $14.9 million (£9.3 million).

The actress and her husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt attempted to offload the seven-bedroom home last year but pulled it from the market when it failed to sell at a reduced price.

Listing agent Robert Erickson tells The Hollywood Reporter Gabor, 95, is selling the property because it has become "too big to manage" as she deals with health issues.

She bought the palatial home in 1970. »

Sharon Stone Was Threatened Over Charity Work

16 May 2012 3:06 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Movie star Sharon Stone has revealed her charity work has been dangerous at times - she has received death threats for her do-good work.

The Basic Instinct star admits she won a lot of enemies when she first became one of Hollywood's charity faces - because many people felt she was simply trying to boost her career.

She tells Life & Style magazine, "When I started doing charity work, people thought I was only doing it for press - they called me the new Zsa Zsa Gabor. The adversity was awful.

"My life was threatened; someone wanted to kill me. It was serious. I know what it's like to be bullied, but charity work is meaningful to me, so I didn't give up."

Now a leading spokeswoman for the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Stone has made a name for herself by demanding cash from rich guests at swanky celebrity auctions - and she insists she's glad she no longer receives death threats for trying to do good: "It was a hard time in my life. I had to be careful." »

Dannielynn Birkhead, Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, all smiles at the Kentucky Derby

8 May 2012 6:54 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Model Anna Nicole Smith always enjoyed attending the Kentucky Derby and her 5-year-old daughter Dannielynn Birkhead is no different. She and father Larry Birkhead were all smiles on the red carpet at the 138th Run for the Roses.

Dannielynn appears to have come through her rather tumultuous childhood largely unscathed. Her mother died just a few months after she was born; she also lost a brother, Daniel, when she was just a few days old. Dannielynn was also the center of an intense paternity battle between Birkhead, lawyer Howard K. Stern, Mark Hatten and Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt.

This was Dannielynn's third trip to the Kentucky Derby - she made an appearance the last two years as well. It was a popular trip for her parents. In fact, Birkhead and Smith met at the 2004 Kentucky Derby.

Zsa Zsa Gabor family feud over ailing star

Husband and daughter battle for control of Zsa Zsa Gabor's financial affairs

It is an unglamorous end to a life that symbolised exotic Hollywood celebrity, lavish living and sheer female bravado. For Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Hungarian-born actress who is renowned as much for her nine marriages as for her films, is at the centre of a family feud that was back in the Los Angeles courts last week.

Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, is locked in a legal battle with Gabor's daughter, Constance Francesca Hilton, over control of the 95-year-old's financial affairs and medical care. But if that sounds as if it has the dramatic potential to be a final movie for Gabor, it would be a tragedy. For although the two parties clashed in court last Wednesday, it is not clear how much Gabor herself is aware of the legal situation.

Zsa Zsa Gabor case: Frederic von Anhalt and stepdaughter try to settle dispute

3 May 2012 12:28 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Zsa Zsa Gabor is 95 and in extremely poor health, but still clinging to life. Also clinging to Gabor are her husband -- Prince Frederic von Anhalt -- and her daughter -- Constance Francesca Hilton -- who have been feuding about control of Gabor's care and finances for months.

Now they may have a chance at settling their differences out of court when both sides sit down with a retired probate judge in June to attempt to iron out their issues, reports the Associated Press.

Hilton has ask that a conservatorship be created to oversee her mother's medical care and assets, citing evidence that both have been mismanaged by von Anhalt who is obviously opposing the petition. He and Gabor have been married for 25 years and, he says, he's providing the best possible care for his wife.

But, he adds in court documents, the price of Gabor's healthcare is draining her »

Zsa Zsa Gabor's Relatives Want To Settle Conservatorship Out Of Court

3 May 2012 1:06 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Lawyers for Zsa Zsa Gabor's warring husband and daughter have asked a judge to delay a hearing into the actress' conservatorship case so they can attempt to settle the matter in mediation.

Constance Francesca Hilton filed documents at Los Angeles Superior Court in March in a bid to become the conservator of her mother's estate, claiming the star's husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt prevents her from visiting the 95 year old at their Beverly Hills home and isn't providing adequate care.

Von Anhalt hit back by filing an official objection earlier last month, insisting Hilton is not a suitable carer for Gabor.

However, they now want to settle the matter out of court, and their lawyers appeared in front of a judge on Wednesday to ask for a conservatorship hearing to be delayed so they can attempt to resolve the issues on their own.

Hilton's attorney Kenneth Kossof said, "Miracles happen in mediation."

Gabor has been bed-bound since breaking her hip in a nasty fall at her home in 2010, and has been in and out of hospital ever since. »

Judge To Rule On Zsa Zsa Gabor Conservatorship Request

2 May 2012 8:35 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Los Angeles -- Attorneys for Zsa Zsa Gabor's daughter and husband are scheduled to appear for the first time before a judge who is considering whether the ailing actress needs independent oversight of her finances and medical care.

Wednesday's hearing is the first time attorneys for the two sides will argue their case before Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz, who is being asked by Gabor's daughter to impose a conservatorship.

Constance Francesca Hilton petitioned to be named her mother's conservator in March, but Gabor's husband Frederic von Anhalt wants the request denied. An independent attorney has already logged at least 89 hours evaluating the case to provide Goetz with information for her ruling.

Hilton claims von Anhalt is keeping her mother heavily sedated and may be mismanaging her money, accusations that Gabor's husband of 25 years vehemently denies. In a court filing, he claims that Hilton has created financial problems for »

Blood of the Vines: Touch Of Evil

Randy is touched.

Orson Welles wrote, directed and co-starred in Touch of Evil in 1958, at the end of what might be considered film noir’s golden era.  It was right at the end of Welles’ golden era, too.  He had been packing on the pounds by this point in his career, and was also drinking too much.  In fact, the most exercise he got in the whole decade was a three-minute-twenty-second tracking shot

Welles’ massive girth in Touch of Evil is actually more the result of padding and makeup than actual weight gain, but it wouldn’t be long before he’d be doing his own stunts.  As spokesman for Paul Masson wines a decade or so later, he didn’t need the help of the makeup department to look like a guy who could put an all-you-can-eat buffet out of business.

Zsa Zsa Gabor's Husband Files Objection Against Star's Daughter

25 April 2012 5:01 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband has filed an official objection to her daughter's petition to take over the management of the ailing actress' medical and financial affairs.

Constance Francesca Hilton filed documents at Los Angeles Superior Court last month to become the conservator of her mother's estate.

She wanted officials to find out if Gabor is receiving the best medical help she can afford and whether her money is being managed correctly.

Before the legal move, Hilton angrily slammed her mother's husband and carer, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, claiming he prevents her from visiting the star at her Beverly Hills home and isn't providing adequate care.

Now von Anhalt has hit back, filing an official objection at the Superior Court of Los Angeles earlier this month, claiming Constance is not a suitable carer for Gabor, according to TMZ.com.

Gabor has been bed-bound for several years, and has been in and out of hospital since breaking her hip in a fall in July 2010. »

Kim Novak, Brazilian president Juscelino Kubitschek Divas In Brazil: Q&A with Author Evânio Alves Pt.1 Vivien Leigh performing in The Lady of the Camellias in Rio de Janeiro. How did that go? It was the greatest privilege for Brazil to have Scarlett O'Hara on the Brazilian stage. The most interesting thing is that I was lucky enough to get a program for the play, autographed by her at Rio's Teatro Municipal in 1962. All Brazilians wanted to see her, the competition was fierce for tickets. Is it true that Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi became rivals after their stay in Rio? At first, I had my doubts when I read about this topic. Since I think that every writer should have a connection with the reader so as to avoid bringing up doubts, I read lots of articles, even in other languages. Divas In Brazil: Marlene Dietrich, Madonna, Brigitte Bardot

As Divas no Brasil / Divas in Brazil In As Divas no Brasil / Divas in Brazil, Brazilian author Evânio Alves narrates numerous little-known stories — some tragic, some humorous, some downright bizarre — about international film, music, stage, and even opera and ballet (female) stars during their visit to the South American nation. According to Alves, the reasons for the divas' visits to Brazil have been varied. For instance, Madonna's reasons for dropping by have been professional (record-breaking shows a few years ago), personal (she was dating Brazilian model Jesus Luz), and socially conscious (as a representative of the Ngo "Success for Kids"). Eleonora Duse and Vivien Leigh performed The Lady of the Camellias on the Rio de Janeiro stage; the former in the mid-1880s, the latter in the early 1960s. Margot Fonteyn danced at Rio's Teatro Municipal, while Marlene Dietrich performed a cabaret act that, as attested by images found in Divas in Brazil, »

Zsa Zsa Gabor's daughter asks judge to intervene

21 March 2012 4:11 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Francesca Hilton, the daughter of Zsa Zsa Gabor, is asking a judge to appoint a conservator to oversee her mother's finances and medical care.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz scheduled a hearing for May 2 to consider the request, reports Ktla News.

Hilton is reportedly concerned because Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, is keeping her "heavily sedated" and "increasingly isolated."

"My wife doesn't complain," said Von Anhalt in a Tuesday (March 20) news conference. "She says she's in a good condition, she feels good."

Hilton also recently learned that Von Anhalt took out a $700,000 loan on Gabor's $10 million Bel Air mansion and that he hasn't been consistently paying the home's mortgage.

Von Anhalt says the loan was necessary to pay for his wife's medical bills.
