She played Cordelia in the 1950 Broadway production of Shakespeare's "King Lear". Louis Calhern played Lear, and Norman Lloyd played the Fool.

In 1966, she starred in an unsold comedy pilot called "Penelope Beware". The plot concerned a rich woman who had a will which left her entire to the servants, who spent all their waking hours plotting to do her in.
