Fund This Film: ‘Slc Punk 2′ Will “Be Like ’2001: A Space Odyssey’ For Punks”

2 November 2013 7:00 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Earlier this year we learned there’s going to be a sequel to the 1999 cult film Slc Punk! And not only did the fans immediately begin pogoing with delight, but a lot of them took to Change.org to petition Jason Segel‘s return as the character Mike. Unfortunately, that effort was not successful — Segel is not interested in even a cameo and the part is being recast — but hopefully more lovers of Stevo, Heroin Bob, Trish and John the Mod will be interested in helping to fund this new movie, titled Punk’s Dead. Yep, just like a middle-class suburban teen with expensive bondage pants pretending to be a squatter and panhandling for change in NYC’s Tompkins Square Park, these rich Hollywood players are hitting the curb and begging for money. Just kidding (sort of). This isn’t another time to debate the idea of crowdfunding and what tax bracket is allowed to start a »

'Deadly Punkettes' teaser art and cast line-up revealed

6 September 2013 11:56 PM, PDT | MoreHorror | See recent MoreHorror news »

by Gerald Beanery, MoreHorror.com

Somehow, someway, the award winning bowlegged poet-turned-filmmaker from Midlothian, Virginia, is now getting his 7th feature film produced, Deadly Punkettes. The film will depict the gritty Neapolitan rise and fall of 4 prissy teenage punk-rock princesses, who’ll have to maintain well-rounded riots even after a founding member mysteriously dies, and haunts their act!

The picture might just be the first of its kind, melding an all-girl group novelty with paranormal terror. The plot twists hardly promise to be tame, and the predictability of this particular writer’s track record could convince us the story will be chock full of sassy, silly, and seductive female characters.

Hannibal – Series 1 Blu-ray review

Show

Hannibal is one of the unexpected recent highlights of U.S. TV crime drama. Inspired by Thomas Harris’ series of novels featuring the urbane maniac Hannibal Lector, the show reinvigorates a tired brand in a wholly enthralling way – and in a manner that’s not for the squeamish.

Hannibal is actually a prequel to the first Harris book to feature Lector, Red Dragon. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), an almost supernaturally gifted but psychologically fragile profiler and instructor at the FBI’s Quantico training facility, is drafted by Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), head of the Behavioural Science Unit, to assist with difficult cases. Crawford is well aware of the danger he exposes Graham to by asking him to immerse himself in the minds of killers, so he enlists the assistance of psychiatrist Hannibal Lector (Mads Mikkelson) to monitor Graham’s mental state »
