Ghost World

26 May 2017 4:56 PM, PDT | Trailers from Hell | See recent Trailers from Hell news »

Daniel Clowes’ comics creation receives an A-Plus film adaptation through the directorial filter of Terry Zwigoff. The show has more going for it than the bleak alienation of disaffected quasi- gen-Xers — the script offers a depth of character revealing the insecure, hopes and fears behind all the insulting attitudes and behaviors. It’s caustic, funny and also strongly affecting.

Blu-ray Review: Willard and Ben Scurry out of Scream Factory's Cellar

15 May 2017 7:00 AM, PDT | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

I recently received Blu-ray copies of both Willard and Ben, both out on May 16 from Scream Factory. I feel that these releases would have been better as a pair released in the same package, but I'm not not a distributor and can't really tell them how to run their business. While Willard is regarded as a classic in certain circles, Ben is much more geared to children with its child protagonist/new leader of the rats, Danny. Both films are PG-rated schlock that I can only recommend to purists or families looking to introduce their wee ones to gentle horror. In Willard, the titular character, played by Bruce Davison, is at his wit's end as he's further pushed out of the company his deceased father helped found by his boss (the always-great...

Stan Lee Will Make a Cameo Appearance in Avengers: Infinity War

2 April 2017 7:00 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Stan Lee’s cameo career extended to 17 straight years in the Marvel cinematic universe as it’s been confirmed he’ll be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War.   Back in 2000, Lee appeared as the notorious “Hot Dog Vendor” in X-Men who watched in shock as Bruce Davidson’s newly-mutated Senator Kelly emerged from the ocean.  Since that time Lee’s been the king of cameos.  It’s worth noting my favorite cameo of him was actually in Mallrats because he got a ton of dialogue.  And I also loved him when he was on The Big Bang Theory.   According to Screenrant Gathering from an Instagram
