The cast of Friends set the Internet ablaze with a semi-reunion in February for NBC's James Burrows tribute - but don't expect to get much more than that. Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Got it Covered’ in Hilarious ’80s Heinz Commercial

24 June 2016 10:14 AM, PDT | backstage.com | See recent Backstage news »

With July 4 right around the corner, it’s the season for grilled burgers and dogs. Luckily, Golden Globe winner and seven-time Emmy nominee Matt LeBlanc has us covered in the condiment department. Turns out, Courteney Cox isn’t the only “Friends” star who started in commercials! In 1987, LeBlanc played a greaser guy too cool for the hot dog vendor’s ketchup in this hilariously dated Heinz commercial. Did someone order a cheese dog!? The spot did, however, show a promising acting career for LeBlanc, who gets to showcase his effortless charisma and suave-meets-adorkable charm. Plus that little dimple and wink at the end is just a hint of what’s to come—“How you doin’?” Watch the ad below. Now who’s hungry for lunch? Inspired by this post? 10 Shows Featuring Ex-‘Friends’ Stars Ranked: From ‘Feed the Beast’ to ‘Cougar Town’ (Photos)

7 June 2016 1:12 PM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Matt LeBlanc/”Episodes” Probably the most successful of the TV offerings from an ex-“Friend.” LeBlanc played a clueless Hollywood actor in his show-biz satire that ran for four seasons on Showtime. Courteney Cox/”Cougar Town” This one was a sleeper. Critics at first hated the concept and title, which seemed to promise Cox as an older woman on the prowl. But it slowly grew into a sly comedy about middle-aged suburbanites who drink and gossip far too much. Matthew Perry/”Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” The critics generally liked it, as they do much of the output of writer-producer Aaron Sorkin. »

No longer 'on a break': is the David Schwimmer renaissance finally here?

31 May 2016 9:53 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

After years in the wilderness, the actor had a juiced-up turn as Robert Kardashian in The People v Oj Simpson and now he’s back with Feed the Beast

Friends has, for the most part, sent its stars down distinct, easily defined paths. Jennifer Aniston is a star. Matthew Perry will play the quirky, quippy lead in mediocre sitcoms until he dies or gets bored, and Courteney Cox will draw eyeballs on TV when she wants to (though she’s taking a justified break after the end of Cougar Town). Matt LeBlanc bounced around for a while (Episodes comes to an end next year) and is now hosting Top Gear. Lisa Kudrow continues to do weird, beautiful projects that get prematurely cancelled (The Comeback).

But David Schwimmer has had, perhaps, the oddest, quietest career and after a few years of doing seemingly very little, he’s returned to TV with »

Long before she was Monica Geller, Courteney Cox starred in some other things you might have seen (like Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” music video) and some things you might not have...like this incredible Tampax commercial from 1985. “Do you change your life for one week because of that time of the month? The couple, who broke up and called off their engagement late last year, proved that they're an item once again when they stepped onto the red carpet together at the Bmi Pop Awards tonight with beaming smiles.  While this is not the first time we've seen the pair together since their split, their appearance on the carpet side by side definitely seems to make a statement. Mothers And Daughters – Review

6 May 2016 6:40 AM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

If you are looking for a movie to celebrate with Mom this Mother’s Day, the warm-hearted Mothers And Daughters offers a better option that the Garry Marshall comedy named for the holiday. Both films feature a star-studded ensemble cast but Mothers And Daughters features stories that actually deal with motherhood, unlike Marshall’s unfunny comedy.

While it is the better movie, Mothers And Daughters is not without flaws. It has so many characters that is hard to keep them all straight, much less get to know them, and the dramatic, heart-tugging stories also could have benefited from a little sprinkling of humor.

The film stars Susan Sarandon, Sharon Stone, Christina Ricci, Courteney Cox, Selma Blair and Mira Sorvino, among others, in a series of stories that overlap or connect in various ways. The interlocking stories are generally built around a photographer named Rigby Gray (Selma Blair).

Pilot Buzz: Female-Led Comedies, Time Travel & Known Brands Heating Up at Broadcast Nets

2 May 2016 10:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

May is here, which means that new broadcast TV shows are almost here.

This week, network execs are sitting in screening sessions, gathering final thoughts on pilots, some of which will be unveiled as official 2016-17 series later this month at upfronts in New York City.

Though the nets will have a better sense of their pilot slates by this week’s end, certain projects are emerging as hot — or not.

Diversity will shine this next TV season across the board, as will recognizable brands and talent. Female-led comedies are dominating ABC’s list of potential favorites, along with female-led dramas that appear to pack more procedural flare. Major male TV stars will topline the majority of programming at CBS. Fox is full of reboots, as well as some really big swings, while NBC is eyeing properties and hitmakers that have done well for them in the past. The CW »

Acting Coach Sentenced to 6 Years in Sexual Assault Case

27 April 2016 1:39 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Cameron Thor, a former acting coach who appeared in the blockbuster hit “Jurassic Park,” has been sentenced to six years in prison for lewd misconduct with a minor.

Judge Martin Herscovitz delivered the sentence Wednesday morning at Van Nuys Superior Court.

Thor was charged for the crime in June 2014 and convicted last August after Jordyn Ladell, one of his former acting students, claimed he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions in 2009 when she was 13.

The judge stated that Thor had “taken advantage” of Ladell’s vulnerable state and that his actions displayed “great preparation.” He was facing up to eight years for the crime, according to the La County Da’s office.

The victim read a statement aloud to the court room prior to the sentencing and asked Judge Herscovitz to give Thor the maximum punishment for his crime.
