Featuring Cooper, guitar in hand, opposite Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta), the image is a raw peek at Warner’s long-gestating picture, which is now well on its way to its September 2018 release. We say long-gestating because, at one point, Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood was attached at the helm, right around the time when Beyoncé was linked with the title role of Ally, a talented unknown bound for stardom.
Fresh off her show-stopping performance at Coachella 2017, Gaga is arguably the perfect fit for the part, and A Star is Born marks the artist’s first leading role in a major motion picture. Other screen credits include Machete Kills, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and a recurring role in American Horror Story. Bradley Cooper, incidentally, is also »

No movie star in history gets as little respect as Vin Diesel. A lot of people — too many — still see him as a fake star, a joke, a beady-eyed mush-mouthed poseur in a wife-beater. He’s the action-film equivalent of a politician (like, you know, Trump or Obama) whose legitimacy has never been fully accepted by the other party. Hipsters have no problem with Dwayne Johnson, whose quick sharp delivery, along with his superman physique, conveys an invincibility they’re comfortable with. But Diesel is a different hunk of rock. Off camera, he leads with his proletarian hip-hop swagger; onscreen, his identity in the Hollywood galaxy comes down to his being the renegade hood ornament on a series of wildly overwrought vehicular thrillers that a lot of people have zero to no patience for. (Meanwhile, as today’s box-office returns for “The Fate of the Furious” indicate, the fans still think these movies are God. »

Andrew Dice Clay – aka The Diceman – is in advanced talks to join Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (here making his directorial debut) in A Star Is Born. Deadline reports that the notorious comedian will play Lady Gaga’s “very Italian” father in the remake of the 1937 classic.
This’ll be the fourth A Star Is Born to hit cinemas. William A. Wellman’s original was remade with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1954, then with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976. The plot examines the effects of celebrity, with an ingenue singer falling in love with an established star. Over the course of the movie, the woman’s fame rises as the man’s falls – resulting all manner of booze-soaked bickering.

Nearly three years after releasing the original Slumber Party Massacre as a special edition Blu-ray, Scream Factory has finally put a double feature disc of its two sequels: 1987’s Slumber Party Massacre II and 1990’s Slumber Party Massacre III. It’s something of a good news/bad news situation.
The good news is that Slumber Party Massacre II is really crazy and really fun. The bad news is that part 3 is not. Picking up the subversive campiness of where Amy Holden Jones’ original left off, Slumber Party Massacre II writer/director Deborah Brock dials up the weirdness and adds an abstract, hallucinatory bent to the first sequel. It’s bigger and stranger, more colorful and experimental; I’m reminded of the leap from Prom Night to Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II, except that the original Slumber Party Massacre is a better movie than Prom Night.
