Disney/Fox Deal: How The Battle to Beat Netflix Starts Today, What Happens to the Fox Network, And Other Burning Questions

Rupert Murdoch is cashing out. The idea of 21st Century Fox being consumed by Disney in a $52.4 billion all-stock deal has shocked Hollywood, where industry players never thought they’d see the powerful Fox behemoth be largely consumed, rather than do the consuming. But as one insider noted, Murdoch is looking toward his final legacy — and turning in his chips while the getting’s good.

“Rupert is 86. He’s looking toward setting up [his family],” one observer said. The industry is rapidly changing, and as the Disney deal currently values the 21st Century Fox assets at more than $66 billion, it’s probably never going to get better than that. Fox shareholders, including the Murdochs, could hold around 25 percent of a new mega-Disney, which will now be supremely positioned to face off with Netflix and other giants in the new media landscape.

The Predator Reboot Explains Why Hunters Have Come to Earth

The Predator Reboot Explains Why Hunters Have Come to Earth
20th Century Fox's The Predator is shaping up to be one of next year's most anticipated movies, especially after it was confirmed this past summer that The Predator connects to Predator 2, and today we have new plot details. While Shane Black had said from the beginning that this project wasn't a reboot, Jake Busey revealed in June that he is playing the son of Peter Keyes from Predator 2, who was played by the actor's real-life father, Gary Busey. In a new interview, Jake Busey reveals that this movie does fall in line with the previous movies, but it will also reveal that these Predators have a bigger motive than hunting, as to why they come to Earth in the first place.

"This one definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have. It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is,

Best Friend From Heaven: dogs, weddings - a perfect trailer

Ryan Lambie Nov 22, 2017

Can the spirit of a dog force its former master to get married? Here's an astounding trailer for Best Friend From Heaven...

There's far too much cynicism in the world these days. So thank goodness, then, for wholesome films like Best Friend From Heaven - the forthcoming romantic comedy about a woman, her dead dog, and its ghost's attempts to get her hitched.

Wait, what?

We'll let the official synopsis explain:

When a tragic accident takes the life of her dog, Tara is forced to cancel her wedding. With a little help from above, their small town rallies together to make sure these two are able to have the wedding of their dreams.

Yes, it's heart-warming stuff, alright, at least once you get past the bit where the dog's tragically flattened by a car while chasing a squirrel. Once the canine's up in heaven, it's laughs all the way down,

Jimmy Fallon on Why He Named His Girl Dog Gary — and Which of His Daughters Loves Her the Most
Every weeknight, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is watched by millions of people. But Fallon’s most loyal viewer is sitting right in his own home.

That would be 5-year-old Gary, a female English cream golden retriever. And it was actually TV that brought the pair of best friends together.

“She came out on to do a bit. I think she was a political pundit. I was having a debate with her, and she was dressed in a suit,” Fallon, 43, tells People in the Sexiest Man Alive issue of the first time he met Gary as a puppy.

Epix Taps Former Amblin Partners CEO Michael Wright as President

Epix is getting a new boss: MGM has recruited Michael Wright, who recently stepped down as CEO of Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners, has been named president of premium cable network.

Predator 2 Was Originally Set During World War II And Featured Nazis

Predator 2 was a pretty strange movie. Transporting the alien hunter into the urban jungle was a logical step for a sequel, but the bizarre voodoo subplot, replacing Arnie with Danny Glover and the addition of Gary Busey resulted in a rather confused and ambling cinematic experience. Critics and fans agreed, too, with the film failing to meet box office expectations and suffering vicious reviews.

This makes it all the more frustrating to hear screenwriter Jim Thomas explain the initial plans for the project, revealing the following:

“We had an idea where at the end [of Predator], with the burned up clearing where the explosion happens. Predator 2 pens there. Predator’s invisible feet come into view and a hand plunges down into the dust, into the ashes, and brings up the Predator’s arm and then activates the computer and gets a readout to see everything that had happened up to that time,

Predator 2 Was Supposed Take Place During WWII

Predator 2 Was Supposed Take Place During WWII
Predator in World War II? It may sound crazy, but it almost happened. Predator is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and, all these years later, it's still one of the best action movies ever made. Unfortunately, the sequels haven't really lived up to the legacy of the original and, specifically, Predator 2 made some weird choices. Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't come back and, instead, Danny Glover, Bill Paxton and Gary Busey did their best to fill the shoes as the franchise made its way to the mean streets of L.A. Writer Jim Thomas recently talked about a scrapped idea at a Predator screening that would have seen Schwarzenegger return. Here's what he had to say about it.

"We had an idea where at the end [of Predator], with the burned up clearing where the explosion happens... [Predator 2] opens there. Predator's invisible feet come into view and a hand plunges down into the dust,

7.10 Charles (Manson) In Charge

Charles (Manson) In Charge is the much-anticipated 'Manson Family' episode Ahs aficionados have been waiting for since the earliest teaser-rumours. The misguided group of baby-boomer drifters ended the decade of love, peace and understanding in a trail of blood and a counter-revolutionary message. Manson’s plan was to race-bait the end of the world, hiding on a studio backlot in Death Valley until the time was right to save the day as the white guy who knows how things should be done. This is basically Kai Anderson’s message. The city councilman is riding a wave of hatred and division to

Thomas Jane discusses the plot of The Predator

The story of Shane Black’s upcoming The Predator has been pretty short on details up to this point. All we really know about the film is that it takes place in a suburban area as a group of soldiers try to take down the new Predator. Now, however, star Thomas Jane (The Expanse) appeared on the Shadow Nation podcast and revealed a lot of details on his and the other soldier’s backstories.

“We play these veterans from like Afghanistan, Iraq war or whatever,” Jane said. “But we’re all fucking crazy so we go to the Va hospital to get our meds. We’re all like shellshocked, Ptsd… soldiers. We’re at the Va hospital and we’re in group therapy and of course, somebody flips out…this is backstory, I don’t think we really see this…somebody flips out and we all get arrested and get

New biographical Hunter S. Thompson TV project on the way

Tony Sokol Kirsten Howard Oct 25, 2017

MGM will turn the life of Gonzo Godfather Hunter S. Thompson into a new TV treat. Drink deep, it's good for you...

"When times get weird, the weird turn pro," Hunter S. Thompson once wrote. It’s been 13 years since the father of Gonzo journalism decided to end his life - ending the games, the fun, the walking and the swimming. Since then, times have gotten weirder than any hallucinogenic chemical fantasia might have imagined. So, maybe it's time for an authorised, televised Hunter S. Thompson biography to tell the story.

There are no details on what it will be, but it will be directed by Davey Homes, who runs the TV adaptation of Elmore Leonard's 1990 novel Get Shorty, and written by Bob Nelson, who wrote screenplays for The Confirmation and Nebraska. The Thompson biography project is being produced by MGM Television.

"Davey is

As Rhod fans will remember, last week, Redmond claimed that the 41-year-old registered nurse’s relationship to plastic surgeon and now-husband Mark Deuber began as a workplace affair while he was married to another woman and she was both his surgical assistant and the nanny to his children.

“I don’t understand the character assassination,” Cary told Redmond on Monday, denying the affair. “Saying that I was Mark’s nanny and all of that b——-.
