Tonight on The Good Wife: Matthew Perry Guest Stars as a New Antagonist (Sneak Peek)

Matthew Perry is joining the ever growing and impressive list of guest stars that appear on The Good Wife and this will be the first of several appearances. Perry is playing Mike Kresteva, the chairman of a blue ribbon panel that Alicia (Julianna Margulies) has been assigned to, a panel that is investigating an Internal Affairs matter relating to a police shooting. Elsewhere on tonight's episode Kalinda (Archie Pajabi) is continuing to have issues with the IRS that will see a face from her past return and the fight for more power between the equity partners at Lockhart Gardner rages on.

As with all things politically and law related in The Good Wife the two are entwined, so there are a couple of other members of the blue ribbon panel that will be familiar »

The Good Wife Recap: Wine-Fueled Booty Calls

19 March 2012 9:12 PM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Mamma Mia, Diane! The best part of this middling episode by far was Diane’s flustered, simultaneous phone conversations with the men in her life. It’s been a while since we’d seen Diane stretch her wings as a middle-aged sex symbol, and good for her for getting some. My vote is for Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole), her Palin-loving ballistics expert ex. But he also seems to be screwing a pretty, brunette, also conservative student who’s taking the forensics class we didn’t know he taught. A lot can change in a year, which is how long it’s been since Diane told him she couldn’t leave the firm and run away to Costa Rica with him. Diane drops by his place, via a 40-mile cab ride outside of the city, after getting stood up by her subpoena-serving Aussie suitor, Jack Copeland (Bryan Brown). Now we know »

CBS

This season’s meandering plots are starting to pay off:  The “Gloves Come Off” episode offers character developments galore as Alicia shows how much she’s grown professionally; Diane becomes the boss of her own love life; Will’s ex, the awful Tammy, returns to taunt and torment; and Kalinda and Alicia achieve a long-awaited rapprochement.

The hour opens with squabbling in the Lockhart conference room, first about whether or not they should replace Will during his disciplinary time out (all in favor: Gold, »

Tonight on The Good Wife: Alicia Receives a Tempting Offer (Sneak Peek)

The opening of last week's preview for The Good Wife could easily apply again as Michael J. Fox returns tonight as antagonist Louis Canning and Alicia will be facing him in court once again. Fox isn't the only returning guest star as Will's ex-girlfriend Tammy (Elizabeth Reaser) and potential Diane (Christine Baranski) love interest Jack Copeland (Bryan Brown) are also featuring tonight.

The last time Canning appeared it marked a significant moment for Alicia this season; her daughter went missing (or rather she didn't, Alicia just feared she had) and Alicia broke things off with Will (Josh Charles). Canning offered Alicia a job, as he does whenever he crosses paths with her and tonight Canning will do the same, but will Alicia take this offer seriously considering her financial situation?

Last week Alicia found out that her »

The Good Wife's Christine Baranski: This Is Diane's Strongest Season Yet

16 March 2012 3:11 PM, PDT | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

To say Diane Lockhart has had her hands full this season on The Good Wife would be an understatement.

First, she had to deal with her firm partner, Will (Josh Charles), sleeping with a subordinate, only to see him receive a six-month suspension from the law altogether. In his absence, she has had to lead the firm solo in addition to keeping its power-hungry staff at bay -- David, Julius and Eli, we're looking at you. But while her work husband is away, Diane Lockhart is going to play.

"This is the one episode where you see Diane say, 'Screw it. I'm just going to find a little time for myself,'" Christine Baranski tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. "And then it gets a little bit more complicated than she anticipates."

The Good Wife Preview: Michael J. Fox Returns in Episode 3.18

The Good Wife Preview: Michael J. Fox Returns in Episode 3.18

Colin Sweeney returned to this week's episode of The Good Wife.  Of course, wherever he goes, drama follows.  Just before a proxy vote for Colin to take back control of his company, a woman named Isobel (guest star Morena Baccarin) appeared on stage to accuse him of sexual misconduct and fathering her son.

Colin denied everything, but she was pursuing a lawsuit against him, so Alicia and Caitlin defended him in court.  Along the way, Colin perjured himself about sexual relations with Isobel and the firm learned that he was the father of Isobel's son, although Isobel achieved that by using his sperm and a turkey baster.  In the end, Colin surprised the firm by revealing that he and Isobel had come to their own arrangement and were going to re-take the company.

Alicia also confronted Caitlin about undercutting her »

Not so coincidentally, the episode also marks the return of the perpetually single litigator’s current suitor, Jack (Bryan Brown).

52 films unfairly rated lower than 6 stars on the IMDb

23 February 2012 4:12 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Democracy is a flawed concept. Here are 50 films that the IMDb voters would unfairly have you believe are worth no more than 5.9/10…

Six out of ten isn’t a very good score, really. It’s barely over half marks. 60 per cent. It’s alright, but it’s not great. You wouldn’t be proud of getting six out of ten on most kinds of tests, would you? So you might assume that any film that scores under six stars out of ten on the IMDb isn’t very good – possibly even terrible.

But that’s not always the case. Averages don’t tell the whole story; anything that’s potentially controversial or divisive will end up with a score that suggests most people weren’t that bothered about it, since high and low scores will be averaged – and IMDb users often exaggerate their scores anyway, giving a film one star »

Gay Girl's Goggles "The Good Wife" SnapCap (3.12) – "Alienation of Affection"

9 January 2012 8:41 AM, PST | AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news »

The Good Wife is finally back — and in great form. The central case united the firm in some ways and divided it in others. But even at the height of tension, it sure was good to see everybody again.

Afterellen Bait

Sigh. We barely even saw Kalinda this episode. But this is a good opportunity to refer you to a panel on The Good Wife from this week's New York Times Art & Leisure Weekend, featuring Patricia Cohen interviewing Robert and Michelle King, Julianna Margulies, Josh Charles and Christine Baranski. If you're a fan of Tgw, it's an hour well spent. Hearing the writers and actors discuss the characters' development and relationships is fascinating — and reveals again just how well written this show is.

My favorite quote came from Julianna Margulies when she was talking about the difference between herself and Alicia, especially in terms of thinking before she speaks. She »

‘The Good Wife,’ Season 3, Episode 12, ‘Alienation of Affection’: TV Recap

8 January 2012 10:00 PM, PST | Speakeasy/Wall Street Journal | See recent Speakeasy/Wall Street Journal news »

CBS Scene from “The Good Wife.”

A breezy episode showcasing the cast at their eccentric best, “Alienation of Affection” gives Diane a chance to flirt again, while putting her designer-heeled foot down to squash growing conflict between partners Eli Gold and David Lee. It also tests the moral fortitude of various Lockhart/Gardner players. Viewers haven’t had this much fun since the partners stood hovering in coats and mittens, plotting outside by the building’s heating duct.

The clever opening shows Ms. »
