Early Doctor Strange concept art shows an alternate look for the Marvel superhero

13 January 2017 11:00 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park (whose previous credits include Thor, The Avengers and Ant-Man) has taken to Twitter to reveal his early illustration of the Sorcerer Supreme for Doctor Strange. The exact date of the drawing is unknown, but star Benedict Cumberbatch most likely wasn’t attached yet, as the figure in the image the doesn’t bear any resemblance to the actor. Check out an alternate costume design for the superhero below…

The tweet the picture was attached to read: “Here’s an early #DoctorStrange concept design illustration I did for the film #conceptart #costume #design #marvelstudios #marvel.”

The concept art comes about a week after a sketch of Ryan Gosling as the character was revealed, reminding us all that not all actors wear the costume as well as Cumberbatch.

Lee Daniels Discusses Exploring Racism, Classism on ‘Star’: ‘We’re in a Difficult Time in America’

11 January 2017 2:15 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Lee Daniels and the cast of “Star” spoke to reporters on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association press tour on a panel for the new Fox show, which centers on a girl group’s struggle to rise to the top of the music industry.

Though the music-filled “Star” is about a girl group on the surface, the drama explores deeper issues of race relations and classism — subject matter that Daniels described as “stories that are hitting the streets of America right now.”

“We’re going deep into what’s happening outside of the rise of the girl group,” Daniels said at one point throughout the Q&A with press members. “We’re going deep into what’s happening right now, as I know it to be in the churches, in the African-American communities, in America’s community.”

During the panel, Daniels was questioned about recent comments he made during an interview on “The Real” when he explained »

5 January 2017 8:15 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Jon Lyus

The marketing bandwagon for Pixar’s 2017 films has already roared off the starting grid with a marvelously dark and portentous trailer for Cars 3, due out in June this year. However there is, for only the second time in their history, another film on its way from the Emeryville animation studio in the next twelve months. Coco is directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina and is inspired by the Mexican holiday the Day of the Dead, itself inspiration for 2014’s The Book of Life and the much-loved LucasArts adventure game Grim Fandango.

Reuniting with his Toy Story 3 producer Darla K. Anderson, Unkrich’s new film will tell the tale of a 12 year-old boy (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez) who comes across the guitar of fabled musician Ernesto de la Cruz (played by Benjamin Bratt). Miguel uses the magic in the legendary instrument to open a door »
