2 hours ago | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it, don’t wait for it, just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men’s store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee. Or, it could be a listen to this Lynchian mixtape inspired by the massive cast list released for the new iteration of Twin Peaks, which has a surprising number of musicians along with actors.

This list includes, but is not limited to, Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Sky Ferreia, and Sharon Van Etten, along with actors who also dabble in music such as Jennifer Jason Leigh, Monica Bellucci, and Richard Chamberlain. Sam Mendes Confirms His Exit From James Bond Franchise

29 May 2016 8:51 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Having delivered Skyfall in 2012, followed by Spectre in 2015, director Sam Mendes has become synonymous with the James Bond franchise – with many devotees of the character feeling that he has successfully brought a more modern feel to the movie series, which has now been running for over half a century. However, after months of speculation and rumour, Mendes has now essentially confirmed that he will not be returning for the next instalment.

Talking to the press at the UK’s famous annual book festival, held in Hay-On-Wye, Sam Mendes explained that he leaves James Bond with nothing but fond memories.

“It was an incredible adventure – I loved every second of it – but I think it’s time for somebody else. I’m a storyteller, and at the end of the day, I want to make stories with new characters.”

This confirmation means it’s looking increasingly likely that a clean creative »

ICM takes Kusturica’s 'On The Milky Road' for Us

14 May 2016 10:00 PM, PDT | ScreenDaily | See recent ScreenDaily news »

Exclusive: Emir Kusturica’s latest stars the director alongside Monica Bellucci.

ICM has come on board to handle Us rights on Emir Kusturica’s On The Milky Road.

The film, which finished shooting in March, is in post-production.

There had been hopes it could have been rushed towards completion in time for this year’s Cannes, as Kusturica is a two time Palme D’Or winner with a very close connection to the festival, but it was not ready.

Kusturica previously had to dismiss reports that he was rejected from the festival on political grounds.

“Anyone who puts two and two together can understand that a film that finished shooting in March just cannot make it to Cannes. It just doesn’t make sense,” said producer Paula Vaccaro.

On The Milky Road stars Kusturica himself alongside Monica Bellucci. International rights are handled by Wild Bunch and the film has pre-sold to several territories.

Twin Peaks Cast Revealed! (And You’ll Never Believe some of the names!)

David Lynch today unveiled the full cast list for his upcoming Showtime Twin Peaks follow-up — and is it a doozy. Two hundred and seventeen actors are credited, with both newcomers and returning thespians. Previously only Kyle MacLachlan had been confirmed as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Will Agent Cooper use a smartphone?

Let’s check out some of the more interesting names on the list, shall we?

Michael Cera: The erstwhile Scott Pilgrim has been keeping busy since his breakout role as George Michael Bluth on Arrested Development, but he usually sticks with comedy (Year One, Superbad). It’ll be interesting to see him tackle something so dark.

Will this hair get frizzier in perpetually damp Twin Peaks?

Trent Reznor: The Oscar-winning composer and Nine Inch Nails wizard has only two credits under his belt (aside from three video shorts): a 2000 Swedish thriller called Recycled and the 1987 Michael J. Fox »

David Lynch’s New ‘Twin Peaks’ Cast Includes Michael Cera, Monica Bellucci, Trent Reznor, Sky Ferreira & More

25 April 2016 10:17 AM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

It was no secret that David Lynch‘s new season of Twin Peaks (Twin P3aks is the name I’m trying to get off the ground) will be big — around 18 hours in length, if early reports are to be believed, perhaps split into two new seasons — and, this being a David Lynch production, contain a few off-kilter casting choices to fill out its many new roles. The names thrown around have been hugely promising, eyebrow-raising, or some combination: Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Jim Belushi, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Amanda Seyfried, Tom Sizemore — whether they’re previous collaborators or newcomers to the Lynch fold, all making more uncertain the matter of what, exactly, he and Mark Frost have planned.

Consider Showtime’s latest press release a total explosion of that. Pulling back a red curtain on what’s thus far been an intensely secretive project, the network has unveiled Twin Peaks‘ cast, »

Big Names On "Twin Peaks" Cast List Of 217

25 April 2016 9:43 AM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.

The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.

in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern, »
