2015 is the 15th anniversary of Bollywood at Madame Tussauds London, and to celebrate the world famous attraction has created a glamorous new setting for its Indian film stars, including a brand New wax figure of Katrina Kaif, which guests can visit from Saturday March 28, 2015.
The stunning star has become the seventh Bollywood actor to be honoured with a figure at Madame Tussauds London – her inclusion has a special significance as she was voted for by fans*, just as Amitabh Bachcahn was in 2000.
Katrina, who collaborated closely with the Madame Tussauds artistic team to ensure total accuracy, was delighted with the figure, which is portrayed in a dancing pose wearing a beautiful sequined white, silver and gold, two piece outfit.
Katrina’s figure was created by a team of 20 sculptors and artists over a four month period, using hundreds of precise measurements taken at a sitting in Mumbai and cost £150,000 to create. »

The trailer launch of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan starrer Piku was a very unique event as the journalists were asked to get their parents along as the film is based on a father daughter relationship.
Ask Deepika who came up with this unique idea and she says, "Somewhere we have all contributed in whatever way possible. Piku is a very personal journey of Piku and baba. Even in the moments that you see between the characters, I think, more than the story it's about the characters. Even in terms of our communication, we have tried to keep it is intimate and personal as possible and this was one of the ideas we came up with."

Official sources reveal that the makers have created a special video starring Deepika Padukone for popular messaging service WhatsApp, encouraging guests and the media to bring their parents along to the trailer launch. It is probably the first of its kind initiative in a marketing and promotional campaign.
Given that Piku is a roller-coaster ride of a crazy father-daughter relationship essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone (with Irrfan Khan top lining the cast, in a pivotal author backed role), the makers thought it best to launch the trailer in an interactive ambiance amongst several parent-child pairs.

Bollywood star Shashi Kapoor, a member of the Hindi film royalty, is to get the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2014, the government’s honor for contributing to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
Kapoor would be the third member of his family to receive the award after his brother Raj and father, Prithivraj. Korean director to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s edition on March 25.
Korean director Im Kwon-taek will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s edition of the Asian Film Awards in Macau on March 25.
Im has directed more than a hundred films across different genres, starting in the 1950s with mainstream projects, and veering into more realistic cinema from his 1973 drama Weeds.
His 1986 Surrogate Mother (1986) won best actress for Kang Soo-yeoun at the Venice film festival, marking Korea’s first ever win in Venice. Chunhyang (2000) was the first Korean film to compete in Cannes and two years later Im’s Chihwaseon (2002) won best director at the festival.
Im is still an active filmmaker today – his most recent film Revivre, about a middle-aged man tending to his dying wife and fantasising about a younger woman, premiered at Venice last year.

It is being reported that Bollywood star Katrina Kaif’s wax figure will be finally unveiled at Madame Tussauds on Friday 27 March. Katrina won a public vote to decide who should be the next Bollywood figure to be a part of the prestigious museum that includes big names such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
Reportedly, Katrina will launch the figure herself on 27 March in London, which was her home for a number of years before she made her move to Mumbai to become a Bollywood actress. In addition, it is also being reported that the wax figure will resemble one of Katrina’s famous dance numbers. She is known for her many popular item numbers such as ‘Kamli,’ ‘Chikni Chameli’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani.’
