‘Hit and Run’ starring Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell

10 hours ago | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

Hit and Run

Directed by: Dax Shepard

Starring: Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper

Rating: Not Yet Rated

Release Date: August 24, 2012

Trailer Score: 5/10

Thoughts by Tsr: Bradley Cooper’s hilarious dreadlocks are simultaneously the best and worst thing about this trailer for Hit and Run. That speaks to my overall reaction, as everything else exists in that middling ground where I can’t really be bothered to care one way or the other.

The one thing that could make this fairly entertaining is the natural chemistry between Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell. They are a real life couple and what we see of them here is fairly fun. Unfortunately, these 150 seconds aren’t completely made up of scenes featuring the two of them, leaving us with too many sound effects masking curse words and too much “comedy” from Tom Arnold. Despite brief flashes – Cooper bursting into the room with the elderly people, »

Trailer: Illeana Douglas Announces Fourth (and Final) Season of ‘Easy To Assemble’

25 May 2012 3:14 PM, PDT | Tubefilter.com | See recent Tubefilter News news »

September is the likely launch date for the fourth and final season of Easy to Assemble, the Ikea-backed show about an actress who leaves show biz to take a job at the furniture store. If the trailer is any indication, the show's creator and star Illeana Douglas will be joined by some familiar faces: Tom Arnold, Ed Begley Jr., Fred Willard, Roger Bart, and Kate Micucci. "When the opportunity arose to do season four, I said, 'Well, there's only one logical place to go,' which is to go back to the store," Douglas told The Hollywood Reporter. "All along, my character has been confronting herself, kind of like Curb Your Enthusiasm, but more my personal point of view." The fourth season brings Douglas back from Sweden, Ikea's headquarters and the setting for season 3's Finding North, distributed on My Damn Channel. Easy to Assemble's second season reached 13 million organic »

The Machine: Director Signs On To Helm Horrible Vin Diesel Flick

23 May 2012 9:41 PM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

And no, it isn’t Michael Bay.

I look at Vin Diesel as being somewhat akin to Sylvester Stallone, in that he started out his career with well-regarded work in a few (in terms relative to his later work) “serious projects,” only to make a severe and conscious decision to assemble a dossier littered with meathead machine-gun flicks, with the occasional half-baked family comedy thrown in as chump bait.

Like Stallone, Terrell Owens, and the latter-day Orson Welles, Vin Diesel is quite strictly a paycheck player: a highly visible, somewhat bankable figure who will sell a baseline number of tickets (or DVDs) no matter how shitty the project, but who, at best, pays only lip service to the notion of a quality finished product. And it’s the baseline, not necessarily the bottom line, that keeps the lights in the Redbox lit.

At first blush, Diesel’s latest announced project, »

New Trailer for Madea’s Witness Protection

17 May 2012 10:36 AM, PDT | Movie Cultists | See recent Movie Cultists news »

Tyler Perry stumbled onto a goldmine when he got the idea of dressing up in drag as a feisty woman named Madea, and the southern belle (?) is tackling the Big Apple in Madea’s Witness Protection.

I am a Huge fan of the Madea films and Perry continues to show his comic talent in this latest adventure that pairs Madea with American Reunion’s Eugene Levy as a nice guy that suddenly discovers he was laundering money for the Mafia. Levy and his family can’t be placed in regular witness protection so they’re forced to hide out with Madea. However, this film adds a twist by taking her out of her element and sending her to New York. The Big Apple will never be the same again.

Of course, Madea is at her best when she gets involved in family dynamics so she also helps Levy with his »

'Color Me Obsessed' Brings a Non-Musical Twist to Alamo's Music Mondays

17 May 2012 8:00 AM, PDT | Slackerwood | See recent Slackerwood news »

By Virginia Yapp

Immediately after the sold-out screening of Gorman Bechard's documentary Color Me Obsessed: A Film About The Replacements at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, the first questions asked of the film's director at the Q&A were about something many audience members may have had on their minds: "Why didn't you use any of The Replacements' songs in your documentary? Was the rock doc's lack of 'Mats tracks due to copyright issues? Wouldn't you have put music in the documentary if you had been able to get it?"

Fair enough. Color Me Obsessed may be just about the only movie shown as part of the Drafthouse's signature Music Mondays programming that had not a single note of music. Instead, the documentary -- true to its title -- examines the fervent fandom surrounding the iconic '80s rock band from Minneapolis, rather than presenting the band's greatest hits interspersed with archival footage and photos. »

Hit And Run Trailer… Hits

16 May 2012 11:22 AM, PDT | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

If you aren’t familiar with Dax Shepard beyond Parenthood, and especially if you haven’t caught some of his more recent indie work, like The Freebie, you may be surprised by just how talented he is. Now, I don’t know if Hit and Run, the upcoming title that he wrote, co-directed, and stars in, is a surefire winner, but it looks like a lot of fun.

Coming to a theater near you on August 24th, Hit and Run is an action-comedy starring Shepard as a man whose past catches up to him when he least expects it… sort of. Unbeknownst to his fiancé (Kristen Bell), Charlie (Shepard) is in the witness protection program, and everything is about the life she thinks she’s in is about to start falling apart.

It’s from the producers of Wedding Crashers, though I’m not sure what information I want that to deliver, »

A host of trailers have arrived in the last 24 hours, and it being the start of Cannes and one of the busier days of the year, we've done a little round-up of them for you below. First up, Bradley Cooper is sporting some sweet dreadlocks in the new trailer of the Dax Shepard-written action comedy, “Hit And Run,” which is co-directed by Shepard and David Palmer. The actor, currently part of the ensemble in NBC’s “Parenthood,” is no stranger to being behind the camera: he was previously behind 2010’s “Brother’s Justice,” again with Palmer as a co-director.

Shepard will lead an eclectic cast that includes Cooper, Kristen Bell, Tom Arnold, Michael Rosenbaum (“Smallville”), and David Koechner (“Anchorman”). “Hit And Run” will follow Charlie Bronson (Shepard), a getaway driver who jeopardizes his Witness Protection Plan identity in order to get his girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles, and is »

Funny Trailer and Images for Dax Shepard’s Hit and Run

I gotta admit, I chuckled a couple of times during the trailer for “Hit and Run”, a new action-comedy from Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, and Bradley Cooper sporting ill-fitting dreadlocks. Then again, anal prison rape jokes always makes me chuckle. Check it out for yourself. By the way, this has nothing to do with anything, but I still remember Shepard from the Ashton Kutcher prank show “Punk’d”. Dude has really come a long way. Just thought I’d put that out there. From the producer of Wedding Crashers – written and directed by and starring comic talent Dax Shepard (NBC’s “Parenthood”) Hit And Run is the story of Charlie Bronson (Shepard), a nice guy with a questionable past who risks everything when he busts out of the witness protection program to deliver his fiancé (Kristen Bell) to Los Angeles to seize a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. New Trailer For All-Star Action-Comedy Hit & Run!

16 May 2012 7:44 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Real-life comedic couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell look to bring their collective talents to road trip comedy Hit And Run. Both are known for outrageous roles in the likes of Employee Of The Month and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and even when disappointing efforts, the duo are always likeable.

Shepard wrote and co-directs, alongside David Palmer, the tale of suitably named Charlie Bronson; a former career criminal who just so happens to be in witness protection. That is until he and his unknowing girlfriend are paid a visit by the man he gave evidence against and happens to owe money to. Bradley Cooper plays the dreadlocked villain in this (hopefully) fun action rom-com, expected later this year.

Hit And Run co-stars David Koechner, Michael Rosenbaum, Beau Bridges, Kristen Chenoweth, Ryan Hansen and Tom Arnold. Check out the films trailer, introduced by the acting married couple, below

Open Road Films has released a trailer for their new comedy called Hit and Run. It was written by Dax Shepard who also co-directed the film with David Palmer. Shepard also stars in the movie alongside Bradley CooperKristen BellDavid KoechnerMichael Rosenbaum and Tom Arnold

I don't really care for most of the films Shepard has starred in over the years, but this one looks like it could be entertaining. It doesn't hurt that he's surrounded himself with a great cast of actors, and it looks like this could be the best role Tom Arnold has had since True Lies

Here's the Synopsis:
