Isabelle Huppert to Lead Next Films from Ira Sachs and Anne Fontaine

After giving a pair of performances among the best in her iconic career with Elle and Things to Come, Isabelle Huppert recently reteamed with Michael Haneke, Hong Sang-soo, Serge Bozon, and more. She’s now once again returning to Berlinale with Benoît Jacquot’s Eva, and while there, two more of the prolific actress’ projects have been announced.

First up, she’ll be leading the drama from Ira Sachs, who recently gave us the wonderful Love is Strange and Little Men. Titled A Family Vacation, it also stars Marisa Tomei, Greg Kinnear, Jérémie Renier and Andre Wilms, and it marks the director’s first time working outside the United States as he’ll be shooting it this fall in Portugal. Backed by Saïd Ben Saïd, it follows “three generations of a family grappling with a life-changing experience during one day of a vacation in the historic town of Sintra, Portugal.

The Best Movies Without Academy Award Nominations of the 21st Century, From ‘Wonder Woman’ to ‘Zodiac’
You know what’s even more satisfying than your favorite movie cleaning up on Oscar night? The righteous indignation that comes from knowing that Academy members were too busy nominating Meryl Streep again to throw a bone to works of high art like “Under the Skin” or “In the Mood for Love.” One of the most important traditions during awards season is getting angry and/or surprised by which movies were snubbed, of which there are more than a few — for every “Shape of Water” with 13 nominations, there’s a “Zodiac” with zero.

And so it is that we’ve assembled this look at 25 great movies that went entirely unrecognized by AMPAS, some of which are unsurprising (they don’t often give much love to wrenching Korean dramas, after all) but unjust all the same. Have a look, and try to quell your outrage as you’re reminded that, seriously,

The West Wing veteran Bradley Whitford is joining the cast of Hulu’s acclaimed dystopian drama in a recurring role, our sister site Deadline is reporting. He’ll play Commander Joseph Lawrence: a gruff, intimidating man with a sly sense of humor who’s the chief architect of Gilead’s economy. No word yet on who his handmaid will be… but we did see Elisabeth Moss’ Offred getting hauled away at the end of last season.

Ira Sachs Lines Up Isabelle Huppert, Marisa Tomei & Greg Kinnear For ‘A Family Vacation’

Ira Sachs makes the kind of movies we love — intimate, small scale, character driven dramas. They aren’t the kind of movies that light up the multiplex, but they are the kind of you’ll think about for far longer than the latest high calorie blockbuster. Now, two years after his last effort, “Little Men,” the director is lining up faces old and new for an intriguing new project.

An array of film festival and arthouse faves including Isabelle Huppert, Jérémie Renier, Marisa Tomei, Greg Kinnear, and Aki Kaurismaki regular André Wilms have signed up for “A Family Vacation.” Co-written by Sachs and his regular collaborator Mauricio Zacharias, the story follows three generations of a family grappling with a life-changing experience during one day of a vacation in Sintra, Portugal, a historic town known for its dense gardens and fairy-tale villas and palaces.

‘The First Purge’ Teaser Trailer Will Make America Great Again, Complete With Government-Sanctioned Murder — Watch

‘The First Purge’ Teaser Trailer Will Make America Great Again, Complete With Government-Sanctioned Murder — Watch
The newest film in the blockbuster “Purge” franchise is not messing around. Titled “The First Purge,” the new prequel has gone all-in on Make America Great Again imaginary, complete with its first poster — a spin on Donald Trump’s infamous red baseball hats — to sell what looks to be a chilling introduction to how America came to embrace the concept of one free-for-all day of crime. You know, to make America great again.

The new film is the first “Purge” offering to not be helmed by creator James DeMonaco, though he did provide the screenplay for this outing. Instead, “Burning Sands” filmmaker Gerard McMurray will take over directorial duties. “The First Purge” stars “Insecure” standount Y’lan Noel, along with Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Melonie Diaz, Luna Lauren Velez, and Marisa Tomei.

The Purge 4 Teaser Announces the First Purge

The Purge 4 Teaser Announces the First Purge
Universal and Blumhouse have launched the first teaser for The Purge 4. It arrived during last night's State of the Union address, following Trump and his words of encouragement for the country. The announcement video doesn't quite mock the President's speech, but it adheres to what Trump had to say about keeping America great.

"What makes America great? The answer is simple, really, Americans make America great. You are the lifeblood of the nation. Your rights as Americans must be safeguarded. There's only one solution to keep our country great. A new tradition. Participate today, and it will make you prouder than when your boy looks up at you and says, 'Dad, I want to Purge, too!'"

This first trailer arrived just hours after Universal and Blumhouse revealed the official title, with the sequel actually a prequel. It is called The First Purge, and will bring fans back to that

Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (Nffa) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

The First Purge is set for release on July 4th and stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez, Marisa Tomei, Mo McRae, Steve Harris,

The first teaser trailer and poster have been released for the new Purge film, which is called The First Purge. As you can see the poster is a parody of Donald Trump's signature red hat and slogan "Make America Great Again." As for the teaser, it focuses on all the things that make America great and how The Purge is a part of that American tradition. I'm sure the poster and teaser will ruffle a few feathers. Here's the synopsis for the film:
