The late Patrick Swayze and his wife renewed their wedding vows after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, it has been revealed. The Dirty Dancing star held an intimate ceremony with partner Lisa Niemi in July 2008, just months after being told that his illness was terminal. Niemi, who was married to Swayze from 1975 until his death in September 2009, recalled that her husband stunned guests at the event on their New Mexico ranch by arriving atop his white stallion. "That afternoon Patrick said, 'I think I want to ride in on Roh'," she wrote in her new memoir Worth Fighting For. "'Really?' I balked, thinking of all the problems a strong stallion not ridden that often could cause. But I smiled. Tragic movie star Patrick Swayze and his dancer wife Lisa Niemi renewed their wedding vows in the midst of his cancer battle.

The Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the beginning of 2008 and when doctors told Niemi the actor only had months to live, she suggested they hold a small ceremony at their ranch in New Mexico to celebrate their undying love for one another with friends and family.

And Niemi reveals horse-loving Swayze made the July, 2008, event extra special by arriving on his favourite white stallion, Roh.

In an excerpt from Niemi's new memoir, Worth Fighting For, obtained by People magazine, she writes, "That afternoon Patrick said, 'I think I want to ride in on Roh.' Really? I balked, thinking of all the problems a strong stallion not ridden that often could cause. But I smiled.

"I was standing at the back door ready to make my entrance, and Patrick was at the side of the house, mounting Roh, who was prancing about, wondering what the hell was going on. Patrick and our blinding-white stallion fairly floated around the pool to the 'Ooohs' and 'Aaahs' of our guests.

"Patrick dismounted and held out his hand. I turned to our guests and grinned, 'After thirty-three years, he finally rides up on a white house!' They laughed. My heart was bursting with happiness."

Swayze lost his cancer battle just over a year later. »

Justin Bieber Turned Into A Cool Rapper On New Chris Brown Track

23 December 2011 12:37 PM, PST | OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news »

Justin Bieber turned into a cool rapper on new Chris Brown track. Ok,so maybe it's not totally new. Chris Brown's "Ladies Love Me" song came out back in August 2011,but I just noticed that this is actually teeny bopper singer Justin Bieber on the back end of this song, dropping some dope ass,rap lyrics. I mean, he can really throw down in the rap arena. If you haven't heard the song, yet, you can listen to it,below. The song starts out with Chris Brown doing his rap verse. Then Justin Bieber chimes in with his stuff to cap off the song. Justin's ryhme kicks off with: "Baby I'm yo doctor, I could be your rocker. Swagging I'm not bragging but I swear that I could rock ya. Baby I'm not crazy I got swag like Patrick Swayze. Know them haters never phase me that's not how my mama raised me. »

Are You Excited to See "Ghost: The Musical" on Broadway? Check Out New Trailer!

1 December 2011 7:13 AM, PST | Manny the Movie Guy | See recent Manny the Movie Guy news »

I love "Ghost," the movie, I really do! It's one of my guilty pleasures! The 1990 movie starring Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, and the scene-stealing Whoopi Goldberg even received Oscar nods including Best Picture and won two trophies for Goldberg for Best Supporting Actress and Bruce Joel Rubin for Best Screenplay.

So I'm very excited to see "Ghost: The Musical" on Broadway when it arrives March of 2012, but the trailer below sort of undersells it don't you think? But as soon as you hear the iconic "Unchained Melody" being sang, ghost-like, near the end of the trailer, I was hooked.

After all, isn't this the hot thing now on Broadway? Stealing Hollywood ideas, give them snappy songs, and voila, you have a hit!

But "Ghost: The Musical" actually received favorable reviews from theater critics in its West End run. The Times says "Ghost has wit and heart and can really, properly dazzle, »

Murray To Credit For Keeping Jackson's Death Alive?

29 November 2011 11:49 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Michael Jackson's star is set to rise again with Cirque De Soleil's "Immortal Tour", but after Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison on Tuesday, there will be at least one empty seat in Vegas when the show opens on Dec. 3rd.

The King of Pop was laid to rest more than two years ago yet from the grave he's managed to keep his name on the Vegas strip and marquees all over the world. But is the infamy of Jackson's untimely exit -- for which we can now credit guilty Dr. Murray -- part of the reason why his name is still very much on the tip of our tongues? It seems as though white glove fans everywhere can credit the man who took their King away for simultaneously keeping his death alive.

The Outsiders (1983) – Bluray Review

25 November 2011 10:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

In 1960′s Oklahoma the leather and denim-clad Greasers and the richer, preppy Soc’s (pronounced “So-shers”) are constantly and at times literally at each others throats. As their confrontations escalate, a tragic turn of events forces Greasers Johnny (Ralph Macchio) and Ponyboy (C. Thomas Howell) to flee the town and hide out, until further tragedy brings them back to town for a bitter-sweet reunion with family and friends.

*****

Like a proto-Brat Pack movie (Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Macchio, Howell, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon and Patrick Swayze all appear), The Outsiders comes loaded with expectation and baggage and it is a load it struggles to bear up under. Director Francis Ford Coppola was white hot off the back of an unprecedentedly successful decade that had given the world two Godfathers, one Conversation and an Apocalypse, working from a book that was apparently widely read and much beloved by those at Junior »

New Release Dates for ‘Red Dawn’ Remake, Roland Emmerich’s ‘Singularity’, Kathryn Bigelow’s Bin Laden Movie

[1] As we head into Thanksgiving weekend and gear up to watch what feels like a dozen new releases this weekend, FilmDistrict and Sony have quietly announced new release dates for a few of their projects. That long-delayed Red Dawn remake that FilmDistrict picked up earlier this fall [2] is now scheduled to drop next fall, while Sony's Pixels and Singularity have both set dates for 2013. Meanwhile, we finally have a set date for that Kathryn Bigelow project about Osama bin Laden. More details after the jump. FilmDistrict has announced an opening date of November 2, 2012 for Red Dawn, the Dan Bradley-directed remake of the 1984 war movie starring Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen. Bradley finished shooting the film way back in 2009 for an intended 2010 release, but MGM's woes put the project on the shelf [3] until this September when FilmDistrict stepped in to distribute. Red Dawn Finally Picked Up For Release

Update: The revolution was only postponed: Red Dawn has just been given a release date of November 2, 2012 (in the States, at least). That's a mere three years after it was shot. Its opening weekend wil see it up against Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand in Mother's Curse, and the Disney animation Wreck-It Ralph....Remember the remake of Red Dawn? Filmed in 2009 with Chris Hemsworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Josh Peck, Adrianne Palicki, and directed by Dan Bradley, it's been sitting on the shelf ever since, due to the ructions at MGM. All did not seem hopeful, but the La Times are reporting that Film District, the company behind Insidious, Drive and The Rum Diary, has liberated the film using their in-house team of teenage guerillas*, meaning it can now finally see the light of day.The original Red Dawn, you'll be more than aware, was John Milius' Reaganite fable of an alternate 80s America, »

The great Christmas challenge: 12 hours of festive films

21 November 2011 6:39 AM, PST | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Movies24 is now scheduling back-to-back low-end Christmas films. What would happen when I went on a watching bender?

It's only November, but already film channel Movies 24 has transformed itself into Christmas 24. It now broadcasts nothing but Christmas films. Not classic Christmas films, either – these are all TV movies and Hallmark specials and straight-to-dvd anomalies.

It's enough to test even the most committed Christmas fan, so I set myself a challenge. Could I watch 12 straight hours of Christmas 24 without losing my mind? Here's a chronology of my travails.

9am-11am: Christmas Mail (2010)

A put-upon postman falls in love with a woman drafted in to answer all of Santa's letters. It sounds sweet, but in reality the woman can't get through a single line without giggling or staring vacantly into space, and the postman is the legal guardian of an annoying big-toothed orphan who likes to call spaghetti "missghetti". It's basically a big will-they-won't-they story. »

Projection mapping? Granimator? Holotronica? Dogboarding? The digital moving image festival presents yet another lineup of next-level music videos, graphics, animation and artwork, augmented by dauntingly up-to-date terminology. Some of it is awesomely futuristic, but much is actually fluffy and friendly – especially the new family oriented Sprites strand, and the fantastically silly Dogboarding. Specialities include Adam Buxton on Björk's music video career, a new documentary on Nasa (the all-star music project, not the space agency), bracing audio-visual installations, and a workshop on projection mapping (using buildings as cinematic backdrops, but you knew that, didn't you?).
