Official Trailer for Romero Zombie Movie 'Day of the Dead: Bloodline'

"His brain is still working. They're learning." Saban Films has released the official red band trailer for a new zombie movie called Day of the Dead: Bloodline. This is basically a remake of the classic original George A. Romero zombie movie Day of the Dead, released in 1985, though it's being called a "reimagining." The plot is about a group of military personnel and survivalists living in an underground bunker trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. The main character is a young woman named Zoe Parker, played by Sophie Skelton, who is "tormented by a dark figure from her past" - surprise, that figure is now a zombie. The cast includes Johnathon Schaech, Jeff Gum, Marcus Vanco, Mark Rhino Smith, Lillian Blankenship, and Shari Watson. This doesn't look that good at all, but if you need more zombies in your life, have at it. Here's the trailer (+ poster) for Hèctor Hernández Vicens

New Day Of The Dead: Bloodline Poster References Romero’s 1985 Original

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting, we now have a brand new, retro-styled poster for Hèctor Hernández VicensDay of the Dead: Bloodline. As you can see in the gallery down below, it shows off Johnathon Schaech’s character Max, a half human and half zombie inspired by Bub from the 1985 original, and also uses the font from that film, too, giving it a rather old school vibe.

It’s a slick piece of art, all things considered, which only makes it all the more unfortunate that this seems to be yet another pointless remake. Perhaps if it was made with a reason, like bringing George A. Romero’s original script to life, which was cut for budgetary reasons in the 80s, I could understand the need for this project to exist. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Instead, this is the third or so interpretation of the 1985 classic,

Day of the Dead: Bloodline Trailer Reimagines Romero's Classic

Day of the Dead: Bloodline Trailer Reimagines Romero's Classic
The first trailer for Day of the Dead: Bloodline is here. The original Day of the Dead is one of the most classic zombie movies ever made and remains one of director George A. Romero's finest moments. So the idea of remaking it, or "reimagining" it, is considered sacred ground for many. If you were to call this movie something else, it might look like a pretty fun zombie movie. But this is delicate glass and it's going to be tough not to take that into account.

Day of the Dead: Bloodline looks like it will take the very basic premise of the original, but it's going to add a lot of its own flare. We have some of the imagery needed to call it Day of the Dead. There's an underground bunker, plenty of zombies and Bub. A new version of Bub, but Bub the zombie is still here.

Day Of The Dead: Bloodline Gets Three Rotten New Images

Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting, we now have three brand new images from the upcoming remake of George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead, entitled Day of the Dead: Bloodline, which is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.

As you can see in the gallery below, one of the new images shows a rotten, stitched-up corpse rising up from an autopsy table, while we also have a look at a zombie with a very gaunt, skull-like appearance, and two human characters. Nothing here is terribly revealing, but it’s still nice to get another glimpse of the pic as many are curious to see how it’ll stack up to the film it’s remaking.

Film Review: ‘Acts of Vengeance’

Film Review: ‘Acts of Vengeance’
Revenge for the death of family members is a frequent boilerplate hook for mid-budget action movies, and that formula could hardly get a more perfunctory recycling than in “Acts of Vengeance.” This slick-enough mediocrity will pass the time tolerably for less discriminating genre fans. But it’s a little sad to see Antonio Banderas reduced to a B movie with grade-c material, even if you’re curious to see him, at age 58, rise to the occasion of the requisite training montage and kick-boxing moves that martial arts-oriented helmer Issac Florentine serves up here.

Frank Valera (Banderas) is a high-powered corporate defense lawyer who lives for his wife and daughter, but unfortunately has little time for them. Typically, he’s stuck at the office, then in downpour-stalled traffic long enough to miss his child’s talent-show recital. (Unfortunately, the audience catches her singing performance.) Remorse turns to concern when the duo don’t return home that night. Later

‘That Thing You Do!’ Twenty-One Years Later: The Gay Subplot That Never Made it Into Theaters
They just don’t make ’em like they used to. When “That Thing You Do!” waltzed into our hearts twenty-one years ago today, it heralded the arrival of Tom Hanks — screenwriter and director. A commercial and critical success, “That Thing You Do!” is the kind of low-budget runaway hit that major Hollywood studios just don’t make anymore. An addictively fun tale of one adorable boy band’s rise to fame, decorated with stylish 1960s period panache, the movie starred Hanks as the band’s kind-hearted manager, Mr. White. What many people don’t know, however, is that Mr. White originally had a hunky boyfriend (hilariously played by former NFL player Howie Long).

In a deleted scene included in the director’s cut, Mr. White finds lead singer Guy (“La La Land” star Tom Everett Scott) stumbling drunkenly out of the convertible of an alluring waitress (played by Hanks’ wife,

Isaac Florentine & Antonio Banderas team for ‘Acts of Vengeance’

If you’re one of the many, many people who bought and enjoyed Security, the Die Hard-esque actioner starring Antonio Banderas – be prepared for even greater things from Banderas’ latest action flick, Acts of Vengeance.

Why? Well this time round the direction comes from Isaac Florentine – he of Savate, Cold Harvest, Us Seals 2, Undisputed 2 and 3, Ninja, Ninja: Shadow of a Tear and Close Range fame…. Yeah, quite the action-orientated CV right? Florentine is one of those action directors whose films I, personally, will watch sight unseen, knowing that I’m in for a fantastic fight-filled time. If you aren’t versed in the ways of Florentine yet I urge you to rectify that Asap!

Not only am I excited to see Banderas and Florentine teaming up, but Acts of Vengeance, which sees a fast-talking lawyer (Banderas) take a vow of silence, not to be broken until he finds out who
