When Brad Bird's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" drew rave reviews and $694 million at the global box-office in 2011, it gave the film franchise a much needed kick in the pants and led to the relatively fast release (by this series' standards anyway) of the next chapter.
Christopher McQuarrie's "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" opened this Summer, less than four years later, and the result has essentially matched its predecessor - earning only slightly less coin ($682 million) but nabbing slightly better reviews (75/100 over 73/100 on Metacritic).
Paramount and Skydance are certainly happy with it, so much so that they're keeping McQuarrie onboard as they've hired him to write and potentially direct the next installment which aims to go into production and begin filming by August next year. Sources tell Variety that talks are progressing towards a deal being closed and McQuarrie has nothing major on his upcoming slate to impede him from doing this 'Mission'. »

Wilson and Ed Helms are starring as brothers whose eccentric mother raised them to believe their father died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father.
“Bastards” marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Larry Sher (the “Hangover” films) with Justin Malen scripting. Principal photography started in Atlanta and Miami in September, with Warner Bros. planning to release the film on Nov. 4, 2016, through Alcon’s output deal.

The Owen Wilson and Ed Helms vehicle Bastards, set to hit theaters in 2016, clearly has the cast that just keeps on growing. The Simpsons legendary voice-master Harry Shearer, who has voiced just shy of two-dozen characters on the longest-running American sitcom, is the latest to come aboard.
Bastards follows twin brothers Wilson and Helms as they go on a search for their true father, after learning their eccentric mother lied to them about his passing when they were just kids. According to Deadline, the Spinal Tap star has signed on to play the role of the brothers’ stepfather.
Shearer is the most recent castmember to join Bastards, since the addition of Glenn Close late last month. Close is set to play the role of Helms and Wilson’s mother Mrs. Reynolds, an interesting dynamic that should only benefit with Shearer coming on in the role of the patriarch.

65 million years in the making, Jurassic Park is still as popular today as it was 22 years ago. Despite two sequels that provided diminishing – though far from terrible – financial returns in 1997 and 2001, the franchise came roaring back to life this summer with Jurassic World, the staggering success of which proved that the world still very much holds the series dear all these years later.
With another sequel on the way for 2018, the future of the franchise is brighter than ever, but for years all us fans had to tide us over was the original trilogy. Between Jurassic Park, The Lost World and Jurassic Park III, many cast members have come and gone from the series, their characters taking part in numerous unforgettable and iconic moments that we’ll never forget even as time continues to push them further into the past.
