Hey, Gotham peeps. Yep it's true. Unfortunately, we have to tell you guys that your favorite show will indeed be Mia tonight as it's currently on a very long hiatus/break that will leave the show incapacitated until the middle of April 2015! That's right. You shouldn't expect to see the new episode 19 hit the airwaves until Monday night, April 13th at 7pm central time, so be sure to jot that date down on your TV calendars. On the spoiler front, Fish Mooney actress, Jada Pinkett-Smith, recently delivered the bad news to Extra that she's not returning for season 2, saying: "We’re done, I did my year and I had a good time.” So, Fish is officially out for season 2. Also, Fox did drop some sort of a promo/spoiler clip (below) for episode 19, last week, in case you haven't checked it out yet. It doesn't show much. Just some past scenes, »

Another key character from the DC Batman universe is heading to Gotham. Chris Chalk has been cast as Lucius Fox - Wayne Enterprises’ resident tech genius as well as a moral beacon for a young Bruce Wayne -  in the Fox drama series (this comes as Jada Pinkett Smith's season 1 exit is a hot topic of conversation among fans of the series). Chalk takes on a role that Morgan Freeman played in the Christopher Nolan era of Batman movies, and is set to make his first appearance towards the end of the current first season, in episode 21, with an option to return in Season 2. The first season order originally consisted of 16 episodes, but was later extended to 22. Gotham premiered on Fox on September 22, 2014. Gotham Picks Up Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox

8 March 2015 7:52 AM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

Gotham is not letting the loss of Jada Pinkett Smith slowing them down. Instead they are moving forward with Chris Chalk, who will play Lucius Fox. Yes, Lucius comes from the Batman universe as the resident tech from Bruce Waynes’ family Wayne Enterprises . He becomes close to Bruce and sort of becomes a role model/father figure as he assists Bruce to become who his parents wanted him to be. Chris will first appear in the role on episode 21 and may reprise the role in season 2.

I am loving how they are bringing in other characters. It really helps to make the show more enjoyable for those who enjoy the comic books. I am sure this will help to build up the story with more of a focus on Bruce than on the others as that seems to be the direction they are taking it for season 2. I cannot wait »

Gotham episode 18 review: Everyone Has A Cobblepot

8 March 2015 3:29 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

With corruption, danger and deception at every turn, this week’s Gotham was a real treat...

This review contains spoilers.

1.18 Everyone Has A Cobblepot

Holy super secret blackmail horde, Batman! That was one hell of an episode, wasn’t it? If Bruno Heller’s Gotham City sometimes feels a little stilted, and more like a generic police procedural locale than a gothic distortion of a cityscape a la the comic book inspirations, Everyone Has A Cobblepot offered a welcome nudge in the right direction.

This week we saw a city where deception, danger and dodgy dealings lurked around every corner. In one hour-long episode we witnessed Bullock confessing to crimes he didn’t commit to save his own neck, Jim bargaining with Penguin to find the truth, the commissioner hiding a mentally unstable daughter in a loft, Oswald making a married couple fight to the death to save on shells »

Jada Pinkett Smith Won’t Return For Gotham Season 2

6 March 2015 4:15 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham looks set to lose one of its prominent villains at the end of the current season. Since the show debuted, much fanfare was made about Jada Pinkett Smith’s treacherous baddie, Fish Mooney, one of the city’s criminal kingpins who was designed specifically for the series. By ushering in the freshly minted character, Gotham’s creators were able to instil a certain degree of mystery to her existence. In particular, would she live a fruitful life, or would she perish?

According to an interview on this morning’s Live With Kelly and Michael (via/Film), Pinkett Smith seems to believe it will be the latter. When asked if she was staging her return for the show’s second season, she replied:

“I don’t think so, no. I signed for a year and the year is up. But, there are some great things coming ahead on ‘Gotham, »

Jada Pinkett-Smith Is Leaving Gotham - Here's Why

6 March 2015 3:40 PM, PST | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Gotham is hurtling toward its first season finale, and it's sounding like one character won't be coming back. In an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael, Jada Pinkett-Smith said that she will most likely not be in season two. When Kelly Ripa asked her if she would be in season two, she told the hosts (which you can watch in the clip below at about 5:45) that she only had a contract for the first season, saying, "I don't think so, no. I signed for a year and, you know, the year is up. But there are some great things coming ahead on Gotham, believe you me. There's a lot of good stuff coming." Gotham's renewal was announced last month, and though we're curious to see how Pinkett-Smith's character will go, we can't help but hope she's right about good stuff coming in season two. »
