StartUp has been renewed for season 3

Kirsten Howard Nov 17, 2017

Martin Freeman, Ron Perlman and Adam Brody will all be back for a third season of StartUp, it's been confirmed...

"StartUp? Remind me again?"

"Well, it's a tech-y crime show with Martin Freeman..."

"Martin Freeman!"

"Yes, and Ron Perlman..."

"Ron Perlman!"

"Yes, it's on Crackle."

"I see. Is this why I've forgotten about it?"

"Possibly, but you can also watch it on Amazon Prime, if that helps. StartUp is Crackle's crown jewel, and they've just announced it'll be back for a 10-episode third season next year."

"Is it even any good?"

"It's quite entertaining, yes."

"Well, ok then."

Indeed, Deadline brought word this week from the StartUp team that the show won't be going anywhere.

“We are excited to open the writers room and partner with Crackle for season three of StartUp,” said creator Ben Ketai in a statement. “This past season was exciting, with nods

‘Pottersville’ Review: Michael Shannon Is Mistaken for Bigfoot in One of the Worst Christmas Movies Ever Made
Here’s the only plausible explanation for “Pottersville,” a nearly unwatchable — but inexplicably star-studded — new Christmas comedy which is making a brief pitstop in select theaters before spending the rest of eternity in the storage room of your local Walmart: A veteran producer at the Hallmark Channel was at the end of his rope (for the purposes of this hypothetical scenario, let’s pretend said producer was “Pottersville” director Seth Henrikson, whose sparse IMDb credits leave plenty to the imagination). Frustrated by a career spent churning out festive — and weirdly horny — shlock like “A Very Merry Mix-Up,” “Matchmaker Santa” (featuring Lacey Chabert), and “A Boyfriend for Christmas” (the story of an infatuated girl who wastes her 20s waiting for Santa Claus to come down her chimney), he finally broke.

Some scholars argue that it was the 2007 Melissa Joan Hart / Mario Lopez vehicle “Holiday in Handcuffs” that pushed him over the

‘Pottersville’ Trailer: Michael Shannon Is Bigfoot In Bonkers Comedy

  • The Playlist
You might be thinking to yourself that even the great Michael Shannon has to do a paycheck gig now and then. After all, it seems the only plausible explanation for why he’d appear in the cheap looking, wacky comedy “Pottersville,” right? Well, he’s also the executive producer, so let that sink in for a moment.

Somehow, director Seth Henrikson managed not only to rope in Shannon, but also Judy Greer, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, and Ian McShane for his feature debut, about a man who is mistaken for Bigfoot, causing a lucrative, media hyped frenzy in his otherwise unassuming, small town.

Michael Shannon in Trailer for Small-Town Comedy Film 'Pottersville'

"It's a magical life." Echo Bridge has debuted an official trailer for a small-town holiday comedy film titled Pottersville. This looks like the wackiest, straight-to-cable-tv Christmas comedy in, well, a long time. The only reason we're featuring it here is because it actually has an interesting cast. Michael Shannon stars as a struggling shop owner who is mistaken for Bigfoot when stumbling around drunk late one night. This brings attention to the town, in turn helping the local businesses. The rest of the cast includes Judy Greer, Tom Lennon, Ron Perlman, Christina Hendricks, and Ian McShane. I honestly don't even want to suggest watching this trailer, but at least it won't take up more than two minutes of your time. Try to enjoy. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Seth Henrikson's Pottersville, direct from YouTube: It's a long cold winter in Pottersville, and struggling store owner Maynard (Michael Shannon) is hit by hard times.

Check out a star-studded trailer for the new holiday comedy Pottesrville

  • JoBlo
Wow. That looks...like some 90s straight-to-dvd garbage. What's most interesting though is the amazing cast it's been able to recruit. You have Michael Shannon, Ron Perlman, Thomas Lennon, Ian McShane, Christina Hendricks, and Judy Greer. How did they get suckered into this? Part of the same Ponzi scheme? To be fair, I'm being a little harsh, as trailers aren't always the... Read More...

Fantastic Beasts 2 pic shows what Newt has been up to since the first one

  • JoBlo
I still don't know how I feel about the whole attempted Fantastic Beasts franchise. On the one hand, I liked a lot about it. Dan Fogler was a joy, seeing the way Americans dealt with wizards was interesting, and the scene at a magical speakeasy with goblin Ron Perlman was great! However, the film couldn't decide on a coherent tone, with the two different storylines (Newt Scamander looking for lost beasts in New York... Read More...

The 20 Best TV Villains of the 21st Century

  • Indiewire
Ask the average viewer to conjure up their idea of a TV villain, their answers might vary: Perhaps a spiked baseball bat-wielding maniac or a faceless Killer of the Week on a police procedural.

And then there are some villains that have existed in various forms on the small screen for decades: abstract ideas like alcoholism, technology, or ratings. As the line between reality and fiction start to blur and a non-stop entertainment news apparatus churns ever on, even people from off-screen within network power structures have frequently worn the black hat, from Ailes to Zucker.

Several new fast-casual options mean running out for a quick bite of comfort food is easier this year on the Third Street Promenade, while Venice’s Abbot Kinney Boulevard offers every food trend. Keep in mind some restaurants now add service fees to checks, much like Europe, but novel for the U.S. Here where to find some new and tasty spots.
