Sarah Jessica's Surgery Pressure

11 November 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sarah Jessica Parker is famed for her stunning looks - but even she feels pressured to have plastic surgery. The 38-year-old Sex And The City star admits Hollywood's obsession with youth gets her down, because so many other actresses are altering their looks to stay young. She fumes, "I've had no plastic surgery. I've had no Botox, no collagen, nothing, no. I have lines. If the rest of my peers weren't doing it, I wouldn't think about it. But it's a little hard to sit in a room with people who are younger and older than me and none of them have any lines. It's an epidemic. You go to an awards ceremony, or to the movies, or watch television and all you see is a mask. Women's foreheads, and now men's foreheads, do not move." »

Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears, Michelle Pfeiffer, Russell Simmons, Harvey Weinstein and Jerry Seinfeld are facing boycotts for their stance against guns. America's National Rifle Association (NRA) has compiled a 19 page list of "enemies" of the Constitution, naming celebrities, corporations, religious groups, non-profit groups, writers, journalists and sports teams - and listed them on its website so members can boycott them. But NRA chief executive Wayne Lapierre stresses to New York website Page Six, "The list is not a blacklist. We got calls from our members wanting to know which celebrities and corporations opposed the Second Amendment... Our members don't want to support them." »

Parker Fuels Nose Job Reports

28 August 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sex And The City actress Sarah Jessica Parker has almost certainly undergone surgery to reshape her nose, according to a top cosmetic consultant. Recent photos of the TV star indicate she's made a "subtle" change to her face, because the bump on the bridge of her nose appears to have been removed, according to British showbiz magazine Heat. British-based cosmetic expert Jan Stanek says, "It's almost impossible to say that Sarah Jessica hasn't had any work done. This looks like a classic choice that so many Hollywood stars opt for, something subtle in order not to attract too much attention. If you look at the sides of Sarah's nose, you can see that her bump looks like it's been reduced slightly and the end of her nose looks less bulbous. The procedure for doing this would be slightly simpler as all you need to do is shave some of the bone off the nose as opposed to reconstructing the entire thing." »

Duchovny: No Sex in the City

15 August 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actor David Duchovny promises fans will be shocked when they see him in hit TV show Sex And The City - because he keeps his clothes on and stays away from sex. The former X-Files star, 43, plays an old flame of Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie in an upcoming episode of the show - but there won't be as much action as fans of the racy series are accustomed to. Duchovny explains, "I play a high school boyfriend who comes back into Carrie's life. We rekindle, but I'm harboring a secret that complicates everything. I keep lots of clothes on! They were shooting a sex scene with Kim Cattrall while I was there. I didn't get jealous of that guy. Those scenes are embarrassing - especially as you get older, if you know what I'm saying." »

Sarah Jessica Parker on Motherhood

10 June 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker is finding motherhood rewarding yet challenging. The petite actress gave birth to baby James Last October and like any other parent, sees her free time slipping away from her. She says, "I don't think there's enough time. Days will pass and I haven't had a chance to have a shower, like on weekends. I have a child and his needs are simply more important and that's a wonderful burden and I love it." And despite her international status as a fashion plate, Sarah has had to alter her wardrobe somewhat. She says, "There are simply things that I don't feel 'ready to wear'... Get it? So one must consider these things." She also doesn't want other new mothers to feel intimidated by how quickly she got back into shape following the pregnancy, adding, "I was forced to get in shape. I had a clock ticking and I just did the best I could. I'm sort of reluctant to talk about how I got back into shape because there's a standard that's realistic and unrealistic to me. I am lucky that I have money for child care and access to private work-out sessions." »

Hollywood Trio Sue Over Ads

10 April 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Hollywood heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington are suing an electronics firm for allegedly using their images in newspaper advertisements without permission. The actors - whose pictures were reportedly used by Fry Electronics without proper authority - are seeking $10 million each in damages. The lawsuit - filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court - claims the ads could diminish their "hard-earned and well-deserved reputations as major motion picture stars and risks the potential for overexposure." It also says the photos ran in the Los Angeles Times and other major newspapers. Representatives of Fry's - which has its headquarters in San Jose, California, and stores in Texas, Arizona and Oregon - did not immediately return calls for comment. Similar lawsuits involving unauthorized uses of celebrities in advertising were filed recently against cosmetics chain Sephora USA by superstar couple Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, and the divorced actors Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. »

Sarah Jessica Parker's Pregnancy Woes

24 February 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker was determined not to bring the hit TV comedy series to a halt while she was pregnant - but admits it was a tough challenge. Program chiefs coped with her changed appearance by making her character Carrie balloon in weight to disguise the bump. Filming was also postponed for the fifth series from last spring to the summer to allow Parker, 37, time to recover from morning sickness. She says, "At first I didn't want anyone to think I couldn't do it. I didn't want my life to impose on my creativity. I was reticent at first. I wanted to be heroic. I didn't want to show any signs of fatigue, but the truth of the matter is, in 90 degrees weather, you want to sit down more. So the truth is, I sat down more often." »

Sue and the City

21 January 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Hollywood couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are suing the same cosmetics giant that upset Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Sex and the City's Parker and former brat-pack actor Broderick are filing a $15 million lawsuit against Sephora claiming they have been the victims of "false representation", according to Britain's Daily Sport newspaper. The couple are upset that their names and photograph have been used by the company to "reap millions of dollars" of free publicity. They allege that Sephora used their "highly valuable" names and images to fool customers into thinking they were endorsing the products. But the acting duo claim they never gave their consent for their photo to appear in the company's brochure, nor do they endorse the perfumes mentioned. Similarly, last September Cruise and Kidman joined forces to file a $15 million lawsuit, accusing the American firm of using a photo of them together in brochures, as part of its 2001 advertising campaign, without their consent. »
