• Amy Kaufman chats with the thespians who read off the names of nominees for the 16th annual SAG Awards at Thursday's 5 a.m. press conference. As Amy writes, "Inside the theater, SAG President Ken Howard welcomed the audience before introducing presenters Michelle Monaghan and Chris O'Donnell. Despite the early hour, Monaghan looked red-carpet ready, dressed in a light pink one-shouldered dress. O'Donnell, meanwhile, appeared trim in a dark suit. Both actors stuck to the script, reading off a teleprompter and opting not to riff on the nominees, as Justin Timberlake did at the Golden Globes nominations Tuesday morning." Analysis: Despite the presence of promising German director Christian Alvart ("Pandorum"), 'Case' has sat on a shelf since late 2006 and is finally being quietly shuffled out this year for one very good reason - it stinks. Having opened in Australia a few months back, reviewers utterly savaged the film as both incredibly dumb and utterly ludicrous. Check out this video of the first-night football game on "The Bachelor" -- it's Blondes vs Brunettes. Who ya got?
These bachelorettes are strapping on pads and helmets to win their man. They're rushing the Quarterback of Love. They're looking to be in Jake Pavelka's huddle
The football game in formal wear is bad enough, but when the women start to chase bachelor Jake Pavelka at the end? Didn't Chris O'Donnell do a scary scene about that very thing in the rom-com "The Bachelor?" Yikes.
Yeah, that game looked totally spontaneous. We also love Jake's "the seatbelt sign is on" line. What does that even mean? Is he contractually obligated to say things that like all season? We better design a drinking game around it before the recapping starts.

I'll be honest: I never saw 2001's Cats & Dogs even though I have a stuffed Mr. Tinkles from the film in my office. (I made that the nickname for my former cube mate, so now I'm stuck with it for sentimental reasons.) That said, I'm kinda into the sequel, which, in addition to cats and dogs working together to stop the evil (and naturally hairless) Kitty Galore, features 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer (!), former Grey's Anatomy veterinarian Chris O'Donnell, and SNL's Fred Armisen in the flesh. Suck it, G-Force.* Who else hates to admit they'd totally watch this? * Though I kinda wanted to see that, »

In the words of the venerable Dr Peter Venkman, "dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!" Well, maybe not - but the idea of canines and felines having to briefly put aside their ages-old conflict and work together is the crux of the sequel to 2001's Cats & Dogs, which has released its first full trailer.Yes, it really has been eight years (and it'll be nine once the movie arrives next summer) since Warners released the first film and, unusually, the studio has not chosen to shove the sequel straight to DVD. We credit the incredible drawing power of human star Chris O'Donnell.Fans of the original should be right at home with this new outing, promising more easy gags about dog and cat behaviour and a new villain - Kitty Galore - who unites the species when she sets about troubling them both. There's no solid listing of the »

Life is tough for washed up action movie stars. If you're a "serious actor," a Chris O'Donnell or a Thomas Jane or a Joseph Fiennes, after a few failed movies, you can always come back to TV. Casting directors will always assume that just because you had no presence on the big screen, you might become a star in the "minor leagues." That's a retrograde kind of thinking, since it turns out that Joseph Fiennes is no better an actor on "FlashForward" than he was in the many motion picture duds he's done since "Shakespeare in Love." In fact, he »

What is going on behind the flawless visage of Zac Efron, the High School Musical superguy? Catherine Shoard takes him beyond his comfort zone
Zac Efron grins big. But worry dims the dazzle. He's reassessing our interview before it's quite over. It went, he reckons, "to an incredibly weird place". Fear flickers in those luminous blue eyes. It needn't – it didn't, not really. But perhaps in Zac-land even the mundane can seem weird.
Look at what's normal to him: since 2006, and the first High School Musical TV movie, it's been security at every step, paps at every door, screams to guide the path. A million smiling dolls moulded in his image, a hundred Day-Glo websites detailing the names of his dogs (Dreamer, Puppy) and his secret talent ("I can blow bubbles with my spit"). Fans so devoted they smoke him out even when he's shooting on the Isle of Man. »
