Brigitte Nielsen's Embarrassing Day Of Tv

27 July 2000 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Brigitte Nielsen left one UK TV show annoyed and another embarrassed after a disastrous day promoting her new pop single "No More Turning Back" on television. Sylvester Stallone's former wife was supposed to start the day with a high-profile performance on premiere breakfast show GMTV - but left bosses fuming when she flounced off the set as cameras were ready to roll. A show source says, "Brigitte arrived late, missed rehearsal and looked confused, tired and emotional. "She was supposed to perform her new song and have a chat with the presenter but with just minutes to go she decided she wasn't going to appear at all and left the set." Next on the schedule was a live appearance on OPEN HOUSE Nielsen turned up - but missed a crucial rehearsal just one hour before showtime. One member of the production staff recalls, "We'd heard she'd walked off GMTV so we were worried from the off. There was relief when we managed to record a take before we went on-air just in case she dropped out at the last minute." But Nielsen did perform her new track - and grabbed a 90 year old man from the audience to dance with her. The insider says, "He loved it - and said he felt like a man of 30!" »
