Emilio Estevez turns the big 5-0 today! Remember when he was Andrew Clark, the high school jock in "The Breakfast Club"?The actor has had an extremely successful career since his days in the '80s running with Hollywood's "Brat Pack" alongside stars like Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall. Estevez quickly rose to fame in the '80s, landing leading roles in flicks like "The Outsiders," "St. Elmo's Fire" and "Young Guns." But, Emilio probably became the most well-known in the early '90s starring as Gordon Bombay in the "Mighty Ducks" flicks. Nevertheless, the actor has continued to steal the small and big screen -- recently appearing on "Two and Half Men," "The Way" and "Abominable Christmas." Has the rest of the "Brat Pack" fared as well? Click "Launch Gallery" above to see your favorite '80s gang then & now! »

Everyone seems just as pumped for the Jay-z-produced soundtrack for "The Great Gatsby" as they are for the flick itself. But before we look ahead at what The Hova has in store for what we can only imagine will be the coolest-ever soundtrack to something you were forced to read in high school, let's look back at some of the all-time great movie songs.

20. Three 6 Mafia: 'Hard Out Here For a Pimp' ('Hustle & Flow')
Three 6 Mafia took home the Oscar for Best Original Song for this jam that confirmed what we had all already suspected: Pimpin' ain't easy. Terrence Howard and Taryn Manning's performances in "Hustle & Flow" were stellar, but there's little doubt that Three 6 Mafia's Oscar appearance, combined with host Jon Stewart's verbal Oscar tally ("Three 6 Mafia 1, Martin Scorcese 0") is what everyone remembers most about the movie. »

Los Angeles — For one night only, the Rolling Stones were an up-and-coming band again.
The legendary group rocked a small club in Los Angeles on Saturday night for a minuscule crowd compared to the thousands set to see them launch their "50 and Counting" anniversary tour a week later on May 3 at the Staples Center.
The band kicked off Saturday's hush-hush 90-minute concert at the Echoplex in the hip Echo Park neighborhood with "You Got Me Rocking" before catapulting into a mix of new and old material, as well as their bluesy covers of classics from Otis Redding ("That's How Strong My Love Is"), Chuck Berry ("Little Queenie") and The Temptations ("Just My Imagination").
"Welcome to Echo Park, a neighborhood that's always coming up – and I'm glad you're here to welcome an up-and-coming band," lead singer Mick Jagger joked after the second song of the evening, "Respectable."

The Rolling Stones kicked off their North American stadium tour with a semi-surprise show at La's 700-person Echoplex on Saturday night. The gig was announced early Saturday morning, and $20 tickets were granted by lottery (though we assume that notable attendees Johnny Depp, Bruce Willis, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Skrillex, Brian Grazer, Steve Bing, and Jim Gianopulos didn't have to rely on luck for admittance.) The relatively short set list was heavy on the older hits (including "Brown Sugar," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Midnight Rambler," "Street Fighting Man," "Start Me Up"), though they also busted out covers of Otis Redding's "That's How Strong My Love Is" and Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie." Sure, the band is 50 years old at this point, but video of the event suggests that they've still got it. »

There may not be a movie so demonstrative of its era than "The Breakfast Club." Of course, you can look to most John Hughes movies to help define what the 80s were all about for angsty, emotional teenagers, but it's damn near impossible to name another movie -- even in the Hughes canon -- that so precisely details the trials and tribulations of the classic, all-American high school hierarchy.
Although the idea of five kids serving detention on a Saturday may not seem like anything special on paper, John Hughes made it a deeply touching, unforgettable classic.
But what if "The Breakfast Club" were made today? What if Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and the rest of the motley crue were high school students in the era of iPhones?
Needless to say, there would be Angry Birds, as illustrated in this comic strip from Funri.

Haven’t heard of Down and Dangerous? You’re not alone. It features no big name stars (except Judd Nelson!), doesn’t come from an established director and hasn’t been anywhere near a studio, but the action thriller from Zak Forsman scored $38k through a slick KickStarter campaign (I hear they even auctioned off the C in the director’s first name). It was his pitch video that impressed then, and it’s the production’s trailer that impresses this time around. The plot focuses on an incredibly crafty cocaine smuggler (John T. Woods) stuck between the Feds, violent traffickers and a beautiful woman. No ground broken there, but the film comes directly from Forsman’s father’s experiences as a cocaine smuggler in the 1970s. Plus, the trailer is high quality in just about every regard, including its levels of Judd Nelson-ness: Why, it’s a veritable lesson in the cocaine trade. Down »

Back when I manned the horror section of the video store I worked at, anytime I’d find a customer skimming through all the “S” titles with mild frustration, 99 percent of the time, I knew exactly what it was they were looking for. And when I would finally ask, my suspicions were confirmed. “Do you have ‘The Silence Of The Lamb’”? To which I’d always reply, “Ah, the Hannibal Lector movies are all in the ‘mystery/thriller’ section.” And usually this would spur a conversation with that customer that would begin with, “Really? I always thought the Hannibal Lector movies were horror!” And it got me thinking about a handful of other titles that horror fans might not even think to hunt for in the “mystery/thriller” section. There are the obvious choices like Se7en or Misery. Then, there’s also stuff like The Sixth Sense, which yes, »

Director: Matthew Spradlin. Writers: Matthew Spradlin and Barry Wernick. Cast: Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Amanda Alch, Marc Donato, Augie Duke, Roger Edwards, Ali Faulkner, Cameron Deane Stewart, Jeffrey Schmidt and Chanel Ryan. Bad Kids Go to Hell has undergone a few transformations. Originally, this piece was a script and then a graphic novel. Over the course of six years, Bad Kids Go to Hell made its way into a cinematic form. And, Matthew Spradlin's first movie as director introduces a lot of conflict, a few comedic moments and perhaps, too much conniving. This title pays homage to a few classics, mostly The Breakfast Club and Carrie. Sadly, Bad Kids Go to Hell is only occasionally entertaining. The film begins as an homage to 1985's The Breakfast Club. Six students are locked into the school's library to serve a Saturday detention. The jock, the nerd, the goth, the princess and »
