Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy wanted for Beverly Hills Cop 4

17 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Back in June of last year, Paramount Pictures announced that it had dusted off its plans for a fourth instalment in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, tapping Belgian writer-directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Black) to helm the newest chapter of the action-comedy series.

Since then, we’ve heard very little about their progress on the film, however Joblo is reporting that the duo recently made an appearance on a Dutch talk show, where they revealed that they were looking at making the film on a $50 million budget and shooting in Detroit.

Furthermore, they said that the film would see Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley as a seasoned Beverly Hills detective, who finds himself clashing with a hardened cop from Detroit. The filmmaker then went on to suggest that they were looking at Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum for the role.

Are you excited about the prospect of Beverly Hills Cop 4? »

Tom Hardy, Channing Tatum Wanted For ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4?’

19 September 2017 3:20 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Here’s an interesting rumour that has just found its way online. It appears that none other than arguably Britain’s greatest working actor Tom Hardy and current Kingsman star Channing Tatum are being eyed for the fourth movie in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing Beverly Hills Cop 4 for Paramount, and the two recently appeared on a Dutch TV show where they said that they were allegedly interested in both actors for a key role alongside Eddie Murphy in the planned film.

Joblo.com report the news that the pair appeared on “De wereld draait door” chat show, and said that they had held a sort of “audition for Eddie Murphy” for the film.

Joblo reports that the planned sequel, produced by Jerry Brucheimer, ‘would be made on a $50 million dollar budget, they will shoot primarily in Detroit, and that they »

Beverly Hills Cop 4 now targeting Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy

Simon Brew Sep 19, 2017

A few more details about the planned Beverly Hills Cop 4 have emerged...

Finally, it looks as if the long-delayed Beverly Hills Cop 4 might be back on. The movie did have a release date in place a year or two ago (it had been planned for 2015), but said date came and went with no sign of a scrap of footage being shot.

More recently, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were hired last year to direct the movie, and they’ve been developing the project ever since. In the last week or so too, they’ve appeared on a Dutch talk show, and have given a fresh update on the project.

The sequel, they revealed, will have a limited $50m budget, and the film will be shot primarily in Detroit. Furthermore, they’re looking for a new partner for Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley in the film. »

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Targets Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum

It's been more than 20 years since Eddie Murphy cleaned up the streets as Axel Foley in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, but that may change somewhat soon with the impending arrival of Beverly Hills Cop 4. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Black) were hired on last year to helm Beverly Hills Cop 4 and development on the project has been slow but sure. Now, the directors have their sights set on a couple of huge stars to possibly star alongside Eddie Murphy in the form of Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy.

As reported by JoBlo, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were recently speaking about Beverly Hills Cop 4 on a talk show in Holland called The World Turns. During the chat, they revealed that they want a big name to work alongside Eddie Murphy in the long-awaited sequel. They specifically name-dropped both Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy. »

Batman has dominated movie screens since at least 1989. An there have been some major players vying for the role ever since. Ben Affleck put it best: "Batman is the Greatest Part in the World." In the summer of 2017, the actor and Oscar winning screenwriter and director shrugged off rumors he was set to exit the Dceu, as work continued on Zack Snyder's Justice League. But what if someone else was coming in to take over the role. Who would it be?

Battfleck turned out to be the best received part of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which reintroduced the Caped Crusader to movie going audiences, following the critical and box-office success of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Beverly Hills Cop 4 is on patrol to cast a big name as Axel's partner

15 September 2017 2:32 PM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

For my money, Martin Brest's Beverly Hills Cop was one of the best action comedies to come out of the 1980s. Eddie Murphy was in his prime, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton made for the perfect bumbling officer duo and Lisa Eilbacher delivered a smart and sexy performance as Jenny Summers in the film. It's a classic piece of cinema that I make a point of watching at least once a year, if not more.... Read More »

Hollywood and the closing cinematic window

Studios are discussing a model that'd see movies land on home streaming formats in under two months...

After a somewhat bruising summer blockbuster season for cinemas, in which gross receipts were 13% down from last year, it can't be good news for them that video on demand could be closing the window between exhibition and home release even further. And yet, as The Hollywood Reporter revealed yesterday, some Hollywood studios are close to reaching an agreement on a premium VOD service that could take effect by the end of the year.

Of a number of different proposals, the one that's currently gathering the most steam is a model proposed by 20th Century Fox, whereby new movies would be available to stream at home for a rental fee of $30, within 30 to 45 days of its release in cinemas. Comcast, Apple and Amazon are reportedly collaborating on making this system deliverable »

Film News: Jerry Lewis, The King of Comedy, Dies at 91

21 August 2017 8:04 AM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Las Vegas – For Jerry Lewis, the “King of Comedy” wasn’t just a mere nickname, but an apt description for his long career and influence. He went from being the most popular entertainer of an era, to notable and studied filmmaker, to charity spokesperson and finally to comic legend. Jerry Lewis died in Las Vegas on August 20th, 2017. He was 91.

When the gawky 19 year-old Lewis met the suave singer Dean Martin in 1946, little did they know that they would become the most popular act in America for several years. Their box office draw was white-hot, so much so that neither of them could keep up with the blur of what happened to them. They eventually broke up at the height of their fame in 1956, during which Martin famously said, “Jer, when I look at you, all I see is a dollar sign.” The second phase of Lewis’s career would be about his prolific filmmaking, »

Probably Jerry Lewis’s most enduring film, and the one that sparked a critical reappraisal of his entire ouvre, this variation on The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll has inspired not only a 1996 Eddie Murphy remake and followup but an animated direct-to-video sequel and a proposed Broadway musical version directed by Jerry with music by the late Marvin Hamlisch. The Hitman’S Bodyguard – Review

17 August 2017 11:04 PM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Ah, it’s almost that quiet (well quieter) time at the old multiplex, as Summer mayhem winds down and the end-of-the-year award bait anxiously awaits. You know… what with Labor Day here in just a couple of weeks. But what’s that rumbling in the distance? Why, it’s another car-smashin’ action flick, charging in with guns ablazin’! Is it another comics-based thriller, or the exciting newest installment of a spy franchise? No, but it’s pretty familiar, as it’s another adrenalin-fueled fable concerning two really different guys, who’ve got to team up to start a huge threat. And, in the tradition of Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours and Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the Rush Hour trilogy (oops, maybe another’s on the way), these fellas, besides their personalities, are, well, of different ethnicities. Perhaps this film will start a dialogue and help this divided nation. »
