When the Emmys for supporting actor and actress are named, odds are good Law & Order producer Dick Wolf will have employed one or more winners on his team. Since its 1990 debut, the cop/law procedural and its spinoffs have enjoyed a mind-boggling hold on the character player Emmy kudos.
Almost half the drama supporting trophies in this period have gone to erstwhile L&O regulars and guests: Terry O’Quinn, Zeljko Ivanek, Michaels Imperioli and Badalucco among the men; Julianna Margulies, Margo Martindale, Kim Delaney and Allison Janney on the distaff side.
In comedy, Christine Baranski and Bebe Neuwirth boast credits as a mob wife and an Ada, respectively, alongside sitcom honors. Cynthia Nixon bookended her 2004 Sex and the City trophy with a first-season L&O turn as a subway shooter, followed by a guest actress Emmy for playing a psychopathic murderer on Special Victims Unit .

Julianna Margulies has scored a success in her legal battle with her former manager over commissions, and as a result, will look to win the case on Thursday. Last year, the The Good Wife star was sued by D/F Management for at least $420,000. The management firm of Steve Dontanville claimed that it was entitled to 10 percent of what she continued to make on shows and for product deals that were negotiated while they were her representatives. Margulies returned fire with a counterclaim that Dontanville failed to provide her with any writing to memorialize the terms of his

Channel hop on any given evening and the chances are you will see the same faces, but in different roles. Do you have a favourite overworked star?
With so many long-running drama series criss-crossing our TV screens, the modern malaise of the same actors cropping up in multiple fictions is becoming ever more noticeable.
The problem was pinpointed a couple of weeks back when the actor Michael McElhatton appeared in two shows that went out concurrently on two different channels and had an enormous impact on both storylines. Anyone watching one after the other had every right to be confused.
If you don't recognise the name, you would recognise the noble forehead and striking features if you followed ace BBC2 serial-killer drama The Fall, in which he played corrupt Belfast detective, Rob Breedlove, and season three of HBO's Game Of Thrones on Sky Atlantic, in which he is Roose Bolton, »

The dancers try their hardest, but choreographer Sonya Tayeh has some words of encouragement: Try harder or die.
So You Think You Can Dance‘s Vegas rounds give us roughly the same amount of drama as American Idol‘s Hollywood week, but the stakes are actually higher because everyone in Vegas is extraordinary in at least one form of dance. On Idol, there’s always a chance some moron who squawked an Ok version of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” won a ticket to Hollywood, you know? On Sytycd, everyone is an astounding talent — which is why it’s sort of disappointing when unqualified guest judges like Hannah Simone from New Girl and Jason Derulo of “JaSON DeruloooOOooOO” fame get a say in the proceedings. Simone was honestly introduced as “a dance enthusiast.” It would’ve been more bad-ass if she were “an anti-dance curmudgeon” or something more threatening. »

Exclusive: Hot off her best actress in a drama series win at the Critics Choice TV Awards last night, Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany has signed with Resolution. Canadian Maslany had been without U.S. agency representation for a while and had been pursued by multiple agencies recently following her breakout performance on the BBC America drama. Last night, she edged the likes of Homeland‘s Claire Danes, Bates Motel‘s Vera Farmiga, Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss, The Good Wife‘s Julianna Margulies and The Americans‘ Keri Russell to land the Critics Choice nod and has emerged as a major Emmy contender as well. (Watch her acceptance speech below). Maslany, who also received a breakout performance special Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, continues to be managed by Magnolia Entertainment and repped by Characters Talent Agency in Canada. »

So who won? Check out the full list of nominees and winners below -- winners are bolded. If two entries are bolded in one category, this indicates a tie.

Orphan Black is over now, and man, what a trip. The season finale alone was mind-blowing, but the entire season had a plethora of amazing moments that made us go Holy Wow! And want to throw trophies at Tatiana Maslany. (Metaphorically, of course. We would never want to hurt that perfect face.)
Here are some of my personal favorite moments from the five main clones of the first season.
Beth Childs
I know we didn't get to see much of the actual clone Beth outside of the videos that Sarah used to impersonate her, but the one moment we saw of her over and over again throughout the series, that moment of utter devastation, when seeing Sarah was the last straw when she didn't have any straws left to give.
Sarah Manning
Sarah was an early favorite, from her accent to her snark, and stayed pretty amazing throughout. »

Life after 40 is good, and getting better, for leading actresses in TV. The women they portray are more independent, flawed and complex than ever. They’re getting love from audiences, critics and Emmy voters — winning the lead drama actress category four out of the past five years.
The latest groundbreaking character comes from the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Thelma and Louise, Callie Khouri, who made the jump from film to TV to create ABC drama Nashville, built around Connie Britton as a
fortysomething country music superstar with real-life problems.
Britton, lauded for her portrayal of everywoman Tami Taylor in Friday Night Lights, explains how Nashville is part of the change for the better in female leads.
“Rayna Jaymes is a self-made woman,” Britton says. “She walked away from her father’s money. She created a support system of men around her. So often in TV the story was the woman being »

The third annual Critics' Choice Television Awards features what is becoming the awards' signature mix of no-brainer and under-the-radar nominees.
So while "Breaking Bad" and "Homeland" are nominated for best drama series, so is "The Americans." The best comedy nominees include "The Big Bang Theory" and "Louie," but also "The Middle."
"Big Bang" and "American Horror Story: Asylum" lead the nominees with six apiece. "Parks and Recreation" and Sundance's miniseries "Top of the Lake" have five each. There were a couple of surprise omissions too: "Mad Men" was shut out of the best drama nominees, and of the cast only Elisabeth Moss scored an acting nomination. Ditto for "Modern Family" on the comedy side; Sarah Hyland was the only cast member nominated.
The Critics' Choice Television Awards are set for June 10. "Parks and Rec's" Retta will serve as host.

Well, it’s that time of year again. As shows start airing their season finales, the world is nevertheless abuzz with TV-related news and hype. The upfronts mean that everyone is attempting to gear up for next season, and viewers are hopefully finding shows that they can look forward to. And, it’s award time. After the brief rest since the movie awards were the big thing on everyone’s mind, now we kick into TV awards.
The Btja (of which I am a member) announced their nominees today for the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
And you know what that means. That’s right, just like during movie awards season, it is now time to cheer on your favorites, and gripe about the snubs and odd choices. Frankly, I find a few odd selections in here myself, and I have a decent list of snubs, some of which stagger the imagination. »

The Critics' Choice nominees are in, with American Horror Story and The Big Bang Theory taking the lead. Though some nominations aren't all that surprising (Jim Parsons, Julianna Margulies, Claire Danes, Bryan Cranston), its some of the more surprising choices that are---not so shocking after all. Some well-deserved recognition finally went to Jake Johnson for New Girl, Chris Pratt for Parks and Recreation, and Monica Potter for Parenthood.
As Parks and Recreation star Retta hosting, the 3rd annual Critics' Choice Television Awards will be taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday, June 10.
