Ray Liotta Joins ‘The Simpsons’ Family as Moe’s Dad
The Simpsons” has added another guest star to its impressive line up for the season and this one has a less than desirable familial connection to everyone’s favorite yellow bartender. Ray Liotta has been cast as Moe’s father, Morty Szyslak, for an upcoming episode of the animated Fox comedy, a 20th Century Fox spokesperson told TheWrap on Wednesday. The “Goodfellas” star will lend his voice to a character described as a more cunning, evil version of Moe. The installment, which will reveal more of the bartender’s backstory than we’ve even seen before, is set to air April 15. Executive producer Matt Selman told...

The Simpsons: Goodfellas’ Ray Liotta Cast as Moe’s Dad

Hollywood mainstay Ray Liotta has been cast as Morty Szyslak, dad to depressed bartender Moe on Fox animated institution The Simpsons. After nearly 30 years on the air, one might assume that the backstories of every conceivable Springfield resident would have been fully explored by this point. However, that’s not quite the case with surly but sad bartender Moe Szyslak, owner of Moe’s Tavern, the neighborhood bar at which Springfield’s local drunks congregate.

‘Something Wild’ Blu-ray Review (Criterion)

Stars: Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith, Ray Liotta, Dana Preu, Margaret Colin | Written by E. Max Frye | Directed by Jonathan Demme

Jonathan Demme was one of the great names of cinema lost in the terrible artistic purge of 2017. His last film of note might have been the forgettable Ricki and the Flash, but there was a period, between 1986’s Something Wild and Philadelphia in 1993 – via no less than Silence of the Lambs – when the director could do no wrong.

Something Wild begins with New York businessman Charlie Driggs (Jeff Daniels) making a mildly rebellious decision: he chooses to not pay for his restaurant meal. A beautiful stranger, Audrey (Melanie Griffith), calls him out. They argue. They connect. She invites (or possibly kidnaps) him to join her on a crazy road trip, heading south with no destination but the next motel, causing moderate chaos along the way. They’re not quite Bonnie and Clyde,

The Top Five Ray Liotta Yelling Scenes in Movies

Ray Liotta is fun to watch for a couple of reasons, one of them being that he gets so animated when he’s fully into the role. His yelling though seems almost strained with something behind it that’s just ready to push forth if he tries a little harder. But his intensity tend to make the effort he gives more than capable of making your skin crawl and your eyes widen as he all but snarls at people when he really lets it all loose. He’s been used as an action star before but really his strengths seem to come as

Cop Land

Sylvester Stallone stars in this Serpico-like story about one good cop surrounded by a bunch of bad apples. Stallone won praise for his performance and his De Niro-esque commitment to the part (he gained 40 pounds for the production).

It's arguably the most famous movie about organized crime of all time, save for the first two movies of the Godfather trilogy. Ray Liotta, Robert DeNiro, and Joe Pesci starred in Goodfellas, an essential component of the cinematic legacy shared by DeNiro and filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Based on a true story, the crime saga sits alongside The Godfather, Scarface, and Casino as one of the greatest gangster dramas ever made. Here, we look at 10 things you never knew about Goodfellas.

Imagine Gooodfellas starring Tom Cruise and Madonna.

The producers initially wanted Tom Cruise and Madonna in the lead roles of Henry Hill and his wife, Karen. Madonna's ex-husband Sean Penn was also considered for Henry. Hill is the real life gangster whose story inspired the book Wiseguy, which inspired the movie. Hill was kicked out of the FBI's Witness Protection Program. After the release of Goodfellas, he enjoyed the spotlight,

Goodfellas at The Tivoli Midnights This Weekend

“One day some of the kids from the neighborhood carried my mother’s groceries all the way home. You know why? It was outta respect.”

Goodfellas plays midnights this weekend (September 22nd and 23rd) at the Tivoli as part of their Reel Late at the Tivoli Midnight series. Admission is $8.

Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas is 27 years old, but I don’t think there’s been a better mob movie since. This movie does a terrific job showing the flash and allure of being a successful mobster (the cash, the respect, the twisted sense of family) and then the dark and dirty side – the graft, lies and ferocity. Ray Liotta’s fall is as rough as his rise is seductively entertaining (think Scarface, only a whole lot better) and it’s punctuated by brutal acts of violence.

Overall, a great movie; features an immersive soundtrack, half the supporting cast of The Sopranos,

It is rapidly approaching a century since Colonel Harland Sanders founded Kentucky Fried Chicken way back in 1930, and the brand has definitely evolved since its inception. One thing that has remained constant with the KFC brand is the image of Col. Sanders. After the death of the Col. The brand executives decided to keep his image as the focal point and find actors and impersonators who shared the likeness of the beloved Col. Sanders and use them to promote and advance the brand.
