“You were right. I’m a rebel. I am! I just channeled my rebellion into the mainstream.”
Director Jonathan Demme’s Something Wild (1986) more than lives up to its title. This rolicking, road trip melodrama about coincidences and happenstances features a slippery-fingered bohemian babe, a staid businessman, and a psychotic criminal on the lam. Charlie Driggs (Jeff Daniels) neglects to pay his bill one day, and a complete stranger, Lulu (Melanie Griffith) confronts him about it outside of the restaurant. Afterward, Lulu takes the hopelessly conventional Charlie on a wild ride that concludes with her handcuffing him to a bed in a sleazy motel and tearing off his clothes. Impulse prompts them to careen off with Charlie still wearing the cuffs. »

One is, when you know you’re gonna kiss your girlfriend, make sure you shave, because stubble hurts,” he said. “I woke up and I was like, ‘I have to talk about this,’ because I was seeing such a mirrored response from everyone around me,” the veteran showrunner says. “Everyone complaining and saying they couldn’t work and felt devastated.”
His response? An election-inspired episode, “Lemons,” with a heartfelt debate about Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and America’s future at the office of Dre (Anthony Anderson). The episode aired just two months after the election and won widespread praise for, among other things, giving each side its due.
“It came out quick enough where it could still be impactful,” Barris says. “The actors didn’t have a lot of rehearsal time; we didn’t have time to really do notes. What you saw was basically what was written.”

This category caused quite a bit of buzz last year when Peter MacNicol was nominated for “Veep” and then deemed ineligible, as he appeared in too many episodes to qualify as a guest. He was replaced by Peter Scolari of “Girls,” who went on to actually win. Well, this year both Peters are eligible and should return to the category. They’ll face off against some stiff competition, including Louis C.K., who has landed three noms for hosting “SNL” already. Dave Chapelle also hosted a popular episode of “SNL.” Jon Hamm and Fred Willard have both been nominated here before for their roles on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Modern Family,” while Hugh Laurie has moved into the guest category for his returning character on “Veep.” Daveed Diggs was hilarious as Kimmy’s new love interest on “Kimmy Schmidt,” but he’s more likely to be recognized for his arc as Bow’s laidback brother on “Black-ish.” Guests »

There's a big snowstorm rolling in and there's Ray Liotta, holding a cat nuzzling his neck. That's the image Ellie Kemper has of her Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Emmy-winning guest star, one of the many famous faces stopping by the series for its third season. Out of the likes of Maya Rudolph, Daveed Diggs, Andrea Martin and Laura Dern, Liotta really excited Kemper—and made her nervous. "I was very careful not to, like, 'Ok, let him say hello. Don't be crazy.' So we were both kind of quiet the first day—or he was kind of quiet the first day, then the second day I think he was kind of warming up, and the third day it was truly like—he was cracking jokes and like, 'Hey, »

Gaffigan plays a seemingly normal father of a loving family whose home life is turned upside down when his 17-year-old son, played by Miller, discovers that his dad has a second family. “We have a truly talented group of actors and I am beyond excited to lead this stellar cast in this delightful story,” says Bailey. “I can’t think of a more perfect class of actors to portray this seemingly dysfunctional family, which I think we can all relate to in one way or another in our own families.”
