International Newswire: ‘Fack ju Göhte 3’ Opens With $18 million in Germany
In today’s International Newswire, German comedy “Fack ju Göhte 3” sets fire to the local box-office; French movies dominate the box-office at home with a mix of genres; Germany’s Tiberius acquires Sharon Stone comedy “A Little Something for Your Birthday”; and Finland’s “Little Wing” wins Nordic Council Film Prize, one of Scandinavia’s biggest awards.

Constantin Film’s high-school comedy “Fack ju Göhte 3” opened Oct. 26 in Germany to a stellar box-office revenue of more than €15.4 million ($18 million) – by far the best start of the year.

The third installment in the hugely successful franchise from writer-director Bora Dagtekin follows a cynical ex-con-turned-teacher (played by Elyas M’Barek) as he tries to make sure his rowdy students pass final exams while facing the possible closure of his school due to its catastrophic conditions.

While the film had the biggest October start of all time in Germany and the third best start ever for a German

Exclusive: Josh Duhamel Hosts a Reality Show Where Contestants Kill Themselves in 'The Show' Trailer
This trailer for The Show, debuting on Et, is not for the faint of heart -- and if the preview alone requires a trigger warning, we cannot imagine how disturbing the full movie will be. The Show's rating should be indicative: R for "disturbing and violent content involving suicides, language throughout, and brief drug use."

Josh Duhamel plays Adam Rogers, a Chris Harrison-like host of a dating show that ends in an attempted shooting -- which is traumatic enough, until the network exec (played by X-Men actress Famke Janssen) decides to create an entire reality show about contestants killing themselves.

Captain Marvel concept art, Deathstroke not in Batman anymore, Wonder Woman Oscar campaign and more – Weekend News Roundup

Super Skrull

After last week’s reveal that Captain Marvel would take place in the 1990s and feature classic Marvel villains the Skrulls, illustrator Jerad S.Marantz has taken to Instagram to reveal official concept art for them. Interestingly, in his caption Marantz includes the hashtag #SuperSkrulls, making reference to Super-Skrull, a character possessing the combined abilities of the Fantastic Four. Seeing as the rights to Marvel’s First Family are held by Fox, it would seem unlikely that we’ll be seeing Super-Skrull in Captain Marvel, unless the character is reworked in a major way. X-Men: Dark Phoenix may have cast its young(er) Jean Grey

It would appear that director Simon Kinberg and the folks over at 20th Century Fox have zeroed in on an actress to portray a young(er) Jean Grey in 2018’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. According to IMDb (via Screen Rant), Summer Fontana will take on the role that actresses Famke Janssen, Haley Ramm and Sophie Turner all filled before her. While the movie database hasn’t always been a reliable source for movie news, a post from Fontana’s Twitter places her in Montreal, which is where the film is currently shooting, making her involvement with the project highly likely.

The upcoming adaptation of Chris Claremont’s Dark Phoenix Saga, one of the most revered storylines in all of comics, will see Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner reprising her role as the titular telepathic young adult mutant from last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Fontana’s casting implies that Dark Phoenix

Famke Janssen says she and the original cast of X-Men are done with the series

  • HeyUGuys
Author: Scott Davis

It’s going to be quite the year in 2018 for 20th Century Fox and Marvel with not one, not two, but three X-Men related films set to take over the multiplexes next year as they go full speed ahead into the comic-book world.

One of the films in the glut of those upcoming is X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the new film as part of the “new” X-Men franchise which sees producer Simon Kinberg make his directorial debut. Following the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest entry will try to re-do the Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix saga that was somewhat unsuccessfully brought to the screen as part of 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

In that film it was Famke Janssen who played Jean Grey and the actress has been speaking about her experiences with the franchise and says that the original cast (namely her, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan,
