Thailand International Film Destination Festival Brings Glamour With A Bit Of Confusion

1 hour ago | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

The Bangkok International Film Festival, which had attracted stars including Catherine Deneuve, Jeremy Irons, Michael Douglas and Oliver Stone, enjoyed its final year in 2009, before quietly disappearing and never being spoken about again in polite Thai circles, leaving behind only an abandoned website and various million-dollar corruption allegations. As a historical note, the Bkiff had evolved from a smaller festival, organised by the Nation newspaper, forcing the Nation festival organisers to change their festival name to the World Film Festival, Bangkok. That festival still exists, but seems unwilling to take on the full power of government funding which would enable it to attract the stars, but might also sacrifice its political freedom. So, instead we have the Thailand International Film Destination Festival, run by...

Sdcc: Grant Gustin shares his thoughts on Ezra Miller’s Flash costume for Justice League

22 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Although he featured briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, yesterday’s DC Extended Universe panel at Comic-Con gave us our first real look at Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen suited up as The Flash with the release of a promo image and first teaser trailer for Justice League.

Miller’s Flash costume is very different from that worn by Grant Gustin in The CW’s his superhero series, and Screen Rant managed to catch up with Gustin at Comic-Con yesterday to get his thoughts on the rival suit:

“Oh sick, I haven’t seen it,” said Gustin, before being handed a phone with the image. “They’re completely different. Yeah, I mean I was kind of expecting this, I heard it was going to be kind of like Injustice. I hadn’t seen this yet, what else is out? Sorry I’m scrolling through the whole thing, I haven’t seen this picture. »

Sdcc: Updated logos for the Justice League

23 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Following yesterday’s big DC Films panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, which saw the release of a Justice League trailer, along with a promotional image of the team assembled, the official social media channels for the DC blockbuster have shared some updated logos for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Check them out here…

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Over 50 Justice League Trailer Photos and New Superhero Logos Unveiled

23 July 2016 4:45 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

A few weeks ago, Warner Bros. announced what movies it would showcase during its two-hour Hall H presentation, hosted by Conan O'Brien. There were supposed to be six movies that would be trotted out to the 7,000 fans in Hall H, including two of their DC Comics movies, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, but it wouldn't be Comic-Con if there wasn't at least one big surprise. As many had hoped, the studio also debuted the first trailer for Justice League earlier today, and we have a slew of photos from this new footage, to give you a closer look at these heroes.

Production has been under way on Justice League since April, and we learned quite a bit about the movie over the past few months, but still, many fans weren't expecting the first trailer to debut at Comic-Con, especially since there is still plenty of filming left. Warner Bros. has »

Must Watch: Comic-Con Footage from Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

23 July 2016 4:02 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"I'm looking for warriors..." This is a nice surprise! Warner Bros has debuted the official Comic-Con trailer for Justice League online for all to see. This continuation of the Man of Steel and Batman v Superman movies in the DC universe brings together six main superheroes: Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. There may be a few others, and the extensive cast includes Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, Amber Heard, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Hopefully this trailer is an improvement over Batman v Superman, as many moviegoers were disappointed, but it looks like Snyder is mixing things up and taking a slightly different approach for this one. Have at it. Here's the first Comic-Con trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, direct from WB's »

‘Justice League’ Forms in First Trailer for Zack Snyder’s DC Team-Up

23 July 2016 12:39 PM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Over five years after Marvel brought their superheroes together with The Avengers, DC is doing their team-up take with Justice League. While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — a film in which we found some things to admire — was a warm-up to briefly introduce a handful of these characters, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg will get more of the spotlight alongside Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

“You know, when Batman v Superman first came out, I was like, ‘Wow, okay, woof.’ It did catch me off-guard, director Zack Snyder tells /Film. “I kind of felt like — and I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment, and maybe it is my hardcore take on characters as far as I love ’em, and I love the material. I do, I take it really deep. So I think the nice thing about working on Justice League is that it is an »

Warner Bros. Releases New Justice League Group Shot And Trailer

23 July 2016 12:37 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Warner Bros. released the very first trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League today during their San Diego Comic-Con panel. Accompanying the incredible looking footage was an epic new shot of the iconic heroes all assembled together, which can be viewed below.

But let’s circle back to that trailer because…..wow. We were already left mightily impressed by the first preview for Wonder Woman, which dropped just moments before, but this sizzle reel has seriously left our heads spinning. It might be light on action, but it does an excellent job of introducing us to the titular superhero team.

For starters, we’re really digging the lighter tone here, as it’s a very refreshing change of pace from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. We’d heard that Snyder would be injecting more humor into the film and from the footage in the trailer, it’s easy to »

Batgirl Easter Egg Discovered in Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition

21 July 2016 3:30 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

While production was under way on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, director Zack Snyder was spotted in a few set photos with his Sucker Punch co-star Jena Malone. Since the actress wasn't confirmed as part of the cast at that point, it didn't take long for rumors to surface that she was playing Batgirl in this superhero adventure. As it turned out, she didn't play Batgirl, and her scenes didn't make it into the theatrical cut, although you can see her as S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Jenet Klyburn in the Ultimate Edition, which debuted on Blu-ray and DVD this week. Today we have word that a new Easter Egg was discovered, which hints that Batgirl may be waiting in the wings after all.

An eagle-eyed Reddit user discovered something in a scene where Alfred (Jeremy Irons) is working at the Bat-computer. As you can see in the photo below, »

Review: Batman v Superman the Ultimate Edition

18 July 2016 12:30 AM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

I remain astonished that the executives at DC Entertainment and parent company Warner Bros were surprised by the nearly uniform negative reaction to March’s Batman v Superman film. The film violated many of the key elements of good storytelling and showed a distinct dislike for the Man of Steel so the resulting experience felt oppressive, dark, and dislikable. Much of the blame is laid at director Zack Snyder’s feet since he edited the film in such a way as to emphasize the Dark Knight over Superman and never really addressed the questions he wisely raises in this sequel to his Man of Steel.

Out tomorrow is Batman v Superman the Ultimate Edition, a combo pack that has the theatrical cut available on DVD and Blu-ray with a second Blu-ray disc containing the three hour director’s cut.

The longer version earned an R rating for the extensive violence »

Steven Soderbergh Could Have Directed A Bond Film

14 July 2016 11:55 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Hollywood history is full of what-ifs. What if Tom Selleck had played Indiana Jones? What if Edgar Wright got to direct Ant-Man (that one still stings)? What if Steven Soderbergh directed a James Bond film? That last one comes to us courtesy of a Q&A at Nitehawk Cinema, following a screening of Haywire, when Soderbergh revealed that he had been approached to direct a James Bond movie more than once, but it never got off the ground.

Here’s what the director had to say:

Over the years, I’ve been in conversations…I’ve been approached twice about doing a Bond film. And it never quite got anywhere. And [‘Haywire’] in some ways, was my opportunity to do what I would do with a Bond movie.

The little tidbit was dropped in the midst of a discussion about Haywire and Soderbergh’s attempts to get a sequel (and even a TV show) made, »
