Molly Jackson: Editing Strength!

29 June 2016 10:00 AM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

I’ve beaten back the technological revolt happening in my apartment! It’s a time for celebration and joy. So two days ago, I saw the Batman Vs. Superman Ultimate Edition at a special event in theaters. On purpose. Seriously.

I purposefully dragged my fellow ComicMix columnist Joe Corallo because I couldn’t suffer through it a second time alone. For the record, he agreed to go and then was confused as to why he agreed. Also, I purposefully did not tell Mike, our fearless editor, that we were doing this since he tried to talk us out of seeing it the first go-around. (I only wish I could see his face when he reads this.)

A little backstory, I hated it the first time. I remember stumbling out of the theater wondering how the studio executives could have let that happen. How? Why?! Still, for reasons unbeknownst to me, »

Synopsis:

Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.

It’s rare to find a blockbuster movie as popular, polarizing, and perplexing at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since it’s release this past March the film has been met with a maelstrom of opinions. At best the movie was perceived as an interesting mess: a tone deaf work of staggering disconnect that left many fans feeling short changed by the epic promises of seeing two of the most »

Eisenberg Confirms Return As Lex Luthor

22 June 2016 7:09 AM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Following those set reports for Zack Snyder's "Justice League" that went up yesterday, a new quote has emerged from actor Jesse Eisenberg. Yesterday's reports noted that with everything a group of journalists saw on set, there was zero indication Eisenberg's Lex Luthor character from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" would return for the follow-up.

Now though, in a recent interview with The Shortlist, Eisenberg confirmed he is coming back but his scenes won't be done for a while yet:

"They are filming (Justice League) now, and I jump in from August. I loved the character and it was the most fun I've ever had at playing a role, and most challenging, in a great way, and most rewarding. I would love to play it for years.

The character I play is so unusual and complicated. As an actor he's everything you'd want to do. It's very exciting for me to play that role. »

Jesse Eisenberg Is Going To Be in 'Justice League' After All

21 June 2016 12:54 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Amidst all this new information to come hot off the set of Justice League, very little has been said about Jesse Eisenberg's involvement with the movie. Many people have kind of hoped that he would basically disappear into the shadows and not show up in another movie until a second Superman solo film, while others loved the character so much that they wanted him to be the Dceu's Loki in that his presence is felt in nearly every film that's going to be made. So, fans of his should be happy to hear that we won't have to wait very long to see him grace the silver-screen soon.

It's her first reunion with her Portrait of a Lady director Jane Campion from back before she was fully Nicole Kidman but basically getting there if you know what I mean.

What we didn't know until now is that she will be sporting Jane Campion's favorite hair color just like Holly Hunter did in Season 1 way back in 2013...

Bang Gang: a modern love story about sex, teens and syphilis

16 June 2016 8:45 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Director Eva Husson spins the bottle with a group of French teens searching for meaning in mindless sex – and explains how she related to their lives

In spring 1996, a young teenage boy went to see a local nurse with embarrassing symptoms. He was a resident of Conyers, a quiet upper-middle-class town in a slice of all-American suburban Atlanta. Holly Hunter grew up there. The nurse asked the boy about his sexual history. What he told her suggested widespread local promiscuity. More teens were brought in, more syphilis cases were diagnosed, and the lid was lifted on a year’s worth of drink- and drug-fuelled sex parties, held at the homes of oblivious, absent parents. Around 250 youngsters were involved, some aged just 12, some who had racked up as many as 100 sexual partners.

“I thought: ‘That’s just crazy, how did they end up like this?’” says Eva Husson, a 39-year-old French director. »
