'The Paperboy' poster: Let's play Where's Matthew McConaughey?

29 December 2011 6:43 AM, PST | EW - Inside Movies | See recent EW.com - Inside Movies news »

Director Lee Daniels has only helmed three films, but each one has boasted a fascinating, eclectic cast: There was 2005′s Shadowboxer, starring, among others, Cuba Gooding Jr., Helen Mirren, and Macy Gray; 2009′s Oscar-nominated Precious, starring the Oscar-nominated Gabourey Sidibe, Oscar winner Mo’Nique, and Mariah Carey; and now The Paperboy, starring Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack, Nicole Kidman, and Zac Efron. And seeing the latter four actors together on one poster has left me really intrigued.

The film, which is adapted from Pete Dexter’s novel, centers on a reporter and his brother who attempt to get an innocent man »

'Red Tails' Star Tristan Wilds Soars In Exclusive Clip

22 December 2011 9:06 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

A lot goes into making a World War II epic like "Red Tails." You can just ask one of its stars Tristan Wilds. In this exclusive look behind the scenes, Wilds guides us through the making of George Lucas' pet project.

For over twenty year, Lucas attempted to bring the amazing story of the courageous Tuskegee Airmen to the big screen. Having finally succeeded in moving ahead with the project as producer, all there was left to do was film the thing.

In the video, Wilds shares his experiences portraying Ray "Ray Gun" Gannon, a member of the all-black group of fighter pilots. For the film, Wilds pretended to fly a plane and sustain some serious-looking injuries, but what he couldn't fake, a partial parachute jump, took a little more effort.

The cast of "Red Tails" also features Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo, Kevin Phillips, Nate Parker, Daniela Ruah and Michael B. Jordan. »

How Do You Top 'New Year's Eve?' With 'The Apocalypse'

11 December 2011 9:30 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

After the success of last year's holiday-themed romcom "Valentine's Day," director Garry Marshall decided to punch his rolodex one more time -- and once again, he's got a hit on his hands with his new celebrity ensemble "New Year's Day." So where does he go for his next sequel?

How about a romantic comedy celebrating "The Apocalypse?"

Okay, you guessed it: "The Apocalypse" is actually the title of the new spoof from the folks over at "Saturday Night Live." And if you think it's pretty much an excuse for the cast of "SNL" to dig out every random celebrity impression they've ever done, well, you'd be exactly right, as stars like Kristen Wiig rip through dead-on impersonations of everyone from Drew Barrymore and Philip Seymour Hoffman to Cuba Gooding Jr. and even Marshall's own sister, director Penny Marshall.

So take a look, courtesy of NBC -- and find out why this year, »

'New Year's Eve' 'Saturday Night Live' Sketch Sets All-Star Love Story Against Apocalypse (Video)

11 December 2011 6:20 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

As it turns out, perhaps there were too many stars in 'New Year's Eve' to engage audiences. The Garry Marshall-directed film earned just $13.7 million over the weekend, less than the opening day grosses of 'Valentine's Day.' (Sorry about this news, 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'!) If only 'New Year's Eve' featured Drew Barrymore, Alan Alda, Cuba Gooding Jr., Al Roker, Christina Aguilera, Paulie Walnuts, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the end of humanity! At least that's what the good folks at 'Saturday Night Live' presented during the Katy Perry-hosted edition, which mocked 'New Year's Eve' -- despite, or maybe because, head writer Seth Meyers actually appears in the underwhelming romcom. Good job, everyone! Watch it above and head over to AOL TV for more about 'SNL.'

The Walking Dead, Ep. 2.05: “Chupacabra” a bit of a mess

The Walking Dead, Season 2, Episode 5: “Chupacabra”

Written by David Johnson

Directed by Guy Ferland

Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC

Simon Howell:

First, a word on the episode’s title. Thanks to a certain band of Welsh tricksters, I was always under the impression that the word “chupacabra” specifically denoted a mythical bat which drained the blood from goats. Turns out that only refers to the Chilean definition; most other places, it’s though of as a larger creature, hence the reference to a “dog” performing similar functions in Daryl’s possibly shroom-enhanced hallucination. Like the creature of myth, The Walking Dead continues to be a tricky beast that no one can seem to agree on. Sometimes it’s a thrillingly genuine genre piece adapted for a longer format than it’s traditionally accustomed to. Other times, it’s a bit of a mess. This week lands mostly in the latter camp. »

Film is set in 1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options -- including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country -- and the fate of the free world. New 'Red Tails' Trailer Goes Beyond The Call Of Duty

10 November 2011 10:15 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

As the end of the year approaches, the release of George Lucas' decades-in-development pet project draws closer and closer. The third trailer for "Red Tails" once again previews the heroic story of the Tuskegee Airmen and their fight for a chance to defend their country against the Nazis.

Lucas started his own fight to get the film about the African-American airmen to the big screen all the way back in 1988. Now he will only have to wait until January 20 when "Red Tails" finally hits theaters.

The new trailer focuses on Col. A.J. Bullard, played in the film by Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, and one of his big speeches from the film, delivered to Bryan Cranston as Col. William Mortamus.

The cast of "Red Tails" also features Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo, Kevin Phillips, Nate Parker, Daniela Ruah and Michael B. Jordan.

Cuba Gooding Jr and Terrence Howard in New Trailer for Red Tails

10 November 2011 7:11 AM, PST | Movie Cultists | See recent Movie Cultists news »

Will a war movie fly these days? Judging from the new trailer for Red Tails, I think the aerial combat movie with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard stands a solid fighting chance.

Lucafilm’s Red Tails is described as a “high-flying action epic” that was inspired by the real life adventures of the first African-American combat squadron, who fought for the right to fight in the “real” war, rather than be resigned to just handling those missions the Us didn’t want any media attention on. The film, which stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Brandon T. Jackson, and Nate Parker, is produced by George Lucas, Rick McCallum and Charles Floyd Johnson. Anthony Hemingway directs.

‘Red Tails’ Trailer #3 and New Theatrical Poster

If you like your war dramas flashy and blunt, Red Tails looks to fit the bill. From executive producer George Lucas, the latest trailer for the Wii fighter pilot actioner is chock-full of cheesy one-liners and air battles that wouldn’t be out of place in a videogame. Expectations have certainly been reduced for Anthony Hemingway’s feature, but here is hoping things move fast enough to entertain.

Bryan Cranston, who seems to be appearing in every single major film nowadays, is shown off a bit more  in the cast including Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, David Oyelowo, Kevin Phillips, Nate Parker, Daniela Ruah, Michael B.
