Kate Gosselin kept her cool when she was given the boot on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” Monday night, but now she’s not holding back.

“It should have been Kenya [Moore],” Gosselin told TheWrap Tuesday. “I was aware of the fact that statistically, the project manager is more than 50 percent of the time fired. On this occasion, there were tangible reasons.”

9 Things You Really Shouldn't Have Missed on The Celebrity Apprentice

27 January 2015 4:30 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Monday's episode of The Celebrity Apprentice had boats, awkward massages, anti-terrorist outbursts and, of course, two firings. Our reap of the beautifully named "It's Like a Booze Cruise with Knowledge" follow. Let's keep it aboveboard, shall we? 1. A CuptastropheAs Team Vortex prepared a themed cruise around Manhattan for Circle Line, everything seemed to be, well, smooth sailing. That is, until a couple of hapless nautical cater-waiters didn't know where to take some plastic cups, and project manager Sig Hansen abruptly, inexplicably and absolutely freaked out. It may have been the worst Celebrity Apprentice meltdown since The Great Meat Loaf Debacle of 2011. 2. You Say She's Inappropriate, »

On Donald Trump's The Celebrity Apprentice, Kenya Moore's claws have officially come out, and Kate Gosselin claimed to be an unfortunate casualty of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star's "girl drama." Assuming the role of project manager to lead her team Vortex (Geraldo Rivera, Moore and Vivica A. Fox) during a task to promote Trump National Doral Miami resort and its amenities through an interactive experience, Gosselin quickly found herself in over her head when she paired Moore and Fox up to go shopping for supplies. ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Star Vivica A. Fox Calls Kenya Moore ‘Fake as Hell’ (Video)

26 January 2015 8:28 PM, PST | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

(Spoiler alert: Do not read on if you have not yet seen Monday’s episode, titled “It’s Like a Booze Cruise with Knowledge.”)

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore finds an adversary on any team she’s on and this week’s episode of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” was no different.

On Monday’s episode, Moore battled Vivica A. Fox, with the ladies tossing verbal jabs at each other in the board room. When host Donald Trump asked Vivica if she was a fan of Kenya, all the actress could say was “she’s attractive” — far from a ringing endorsement. »

Celebrity Apprentice Recap: Sea Sick

26 January 2015 7:00 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Monday’s Celebrity Apprentice offered up a new recipe for disaster: Take nine ferocious celebs (at various points in their careers) and just add water.

The first hour tasked Teams Infinity and Vortex with planning duel boat tours of New York City, and as even the most casual Apprentice viewers could have predicted, there was some serious drama on the high seas.

Despite Team Infinity’s initial setback — its original theme was Mardi Gras, an experience unique to New Orleans — a quick course correction by project manager Brandi Glanville saved the day. (No comment on Kenya Moore’s performance. It was a thing that happened, »

Exhibitors Filmhouse and Silverbird Flex Their Plex Muscles in Nigeria

22 January 2015 10:00 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

For the past five years, an Islamist insurgency has shaken northern Nigeria, claiming several thousand lives and putting the government in its crosshairs. But while the ongoing violence might rattle the nerves of some, Kene Mkparu looks at the region and sees opportunity.

Mkparu, CEO of Filmhouse Ltd., is traveling north this month to open a new multiplex in Kano, the region’s largest city and economic hub. It’s one of five plexes his company is rolling out in a recent blitz that will more than double its presence in Nigeria after just two years.

The rapid expansion is part of an ambitious effort to grab a commanding share of the growing exhibition market in sub-Saharan Africa’s most populous nation. It is a way, as well, to build confidence in that market’s mostly untapped potential.

“Nigeria does a lot of talk,” Mkparu says. “We want you to see. »

Bill Cosby Takes Stage Amid Protests Over Sexual Assault Claims

Protesters chanted “Rape is not a joke!” and “No means no!” outside a Denver theater

About 100 protesters chanted “Rape is not a joke!” and “No means no!” outside a Denver theater right before Bill Cosby took the stage on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The demonstration came shortly after another woman, a former model named Beth Ferrier, came forward claiming the embattled comedian sexually assaulted her in 1986.

“I cannot tell you how horrific of a feeling that is,” Ferrier told reporters.

Sweet, Oily November: Amata’s Agonizingly Clunky Issue Film

Nigerian filmmaker Jeta Amata’s fourth feature Black November sports a slew of notable American faces in this collaboration between international film industries. Unfortunately, the very names drawing international attention to the project only serve to enhance the film’s blatant heavy-handedness, an angry issue film built on a foundation of cliché, presented with all the prowess of a rudimentary piece of propaganda. That’s not to say that Amat’s film isn’t well intentioned, but his meaningful message is lost in this gross manipulation of the cinematic form, which includes names that promise the likelihood of a cheesy thriller that are instead regurgitated bookends to a predictable sermon.

It was not a good week to be a pro-athlete on The Celebrity Apprentice.

The first challenge required Team Infinity to nominate someone to pose in a photo shoot, and the ladies didn’t exactly exhibit model behavior — see TVLine’s video of Kenya Moore’s minor freak-out — ultimately resulting in their downfall.

Despite everyone’s suggestions in the boardroom — both Brandi Glanville and Vivica A. Fox were ready to throw super-shopper Kate Gosselin under the bus, while Moore slapped a target on Glanville — the Donald ultimately dropped his mighty axe on Team Infinity’s project manager.

Film Review: ‘Black November’

9 January 2015 3:44 PM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Hollywood and Nollywood — the prolific, still export-resistant Nigerian film industry — don’t so much meet as exchange business cards in “Black November,” an impassioned but inert social tract disguised only notionally as a high-octane terrorism thriller. While the presence upfront of Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke lends the initial impression of cheerfully cheesy exploitation fare, their contributions turn out to be marginal: Auds chasing cheap thrills will be caught off guard by this earnestly angry study of Nigeria’s corruption-riddled oil industry, superficially bracketed by a standard-issue, Los Angeles-set hostage drama. Sadly, Jeta Amata’s film proves plodding and sanctimonious in either register.

Finally getting a multiplatform release after languishing on the shelf since 2012 — following a premiere at the United Nations, no less — “Black November” (titled “Rise Up” on the copy viewed by this critic) won’t draw much international attention to its home country’s plight. With any luck, »

Tina Fey Says ‘Heck Yes’ to Bill Cosby Jokes During the Golden Globes (Video)

Will Tina Fey and Amy Poehler crack jokes at Bill Cosby‘s expense at the 72nd Annual Golden Globes on Sunday?

“Oh, heck yes,” Fey exclaimed in an “Access Hollywood” interview airing Friday.

It’s hard to tell when Fey isn’t joking, though, so Cosby haters should not get their hopes up. Still, Fey and Poehler — who are returning to host the ceremony for the third consecutive year — should have no shortage of material, if they choose to use it.
