Patrick Wilson's bid for political power is threatened by his voracious sexual appetite in the trailer for Zipper.

The upcoming political drama casts Fargo's Wilson as popular Southern prosecutor Sam Ellis, whose Congressional bid could put him on the fast track to greatness.

There are only two problems – Sam has a compulsive desire to sleep with high-priced call girls and a dangerous fascination with a young intern (Dianna Agron).

Zipper is produced by Academy Award-nominated Black Swan filmmaker Darren Aronofsky.

Among the supporting cast members who have a hand in Sam's rise and fall are Lena Headey, John Cho, Ray Winstone and Richard Dreyfuss.

Zipper bows on August 28 in Us cinemas. A UK release is yet to be set. »

First Trailer For Patrick Wilson's Zipper

22 July 2015 2:38 PM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

In what promises to be a gripping study of power and addiction, Patrick Wilson takes the lead in Zipper as a universally loved politician on a seemingly non-stop rise to the top. But he finds everything falling down around him as his ‘zipper problem’, i.e. his nasty habit of sleeping with scores of women who are not his wife (Lena Heady), catches up with him. Really, Wilson is perfect for the lead role. Not only does he a great actor,  he has the sort of charisma that demands all eyes are on him, as well as the chops to delve into the darker parts of his character. On top of that, he his surrounded by a stellar cast, including Heady, Richard Dreyfuss, and Ray Winstone, which all adds up to an absolutely fascinating political trailer. Released: 28th August »

Patrick Wilson Plays a Sex-Addicted Politician in Trailer for 'Zipper'

22 July 2015 11:54 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"I set out to help people, I never said I was better than them..." Alchemy has debuted the trailer for the sex thriller Zipper, which dramatizes the sexual urges of a man on the cusp of a bright future. Patrick Wilson stars as a politician on the rise who ends up losing everything "due to his inability to fight off his obsessive temptation for other women." This is a thriller because they really play up the angle of "look how deadly this can be to your life!" with all the endless infidelity. The cast also includes Lena Headey, Dianna Agron, Alexandra Breckenridge, Richard Dreyfuss, John Cho and Ray Winstone. This looks interesting, but at the same time I'd kind of rather just go back and watch Joe Carnahan's Stretch again. Give it a watch. Patrick Wilson Learns Politics and Sex Don't Mix in 'Zipper' Trailer

22 July 2015 7:45 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

You'd think politicians would've learned by now to keep their pants on. And yet, in this new "Zipper" trailer, Patrick Wilson's political career starts to come undone because he can't do that.

Wilson's Sam Ellis is a prosecutor running for office who has it all - gorgeous wife (Lena Headey), cute kids, and a bright future in politics. Except he's got a "zipper problem," as his advisor (Richard Dreyfuss) dubs it.

Watch the trailer.

Wilson is perfectly cast as a charming, good-looking, seemingly good guy who's got the clean-cut image that campaign managers drool over. But then he gets involved with high-class escorts, and his dreams threaten to go down the drain. Headey also looks to give a great performance as his ambitious wife, who won't let him ruin his chances without a fight.

"Zipper" hits theaters and On Demand August 28.

Eisenberg and Stewart are stoned and deadly in new 'American Ultra' trailer

21 July 2015 2:15 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Total Recall" is one of those movies that is beloved by a pretty wide swath of fandom, but it's never been a favorite of mine. Part of the problem is that while I love "Robocop," I don't think every single piece of material works with that tone. Paul Verhoeven loves to subvert the material he works with, and while "Robocop" was clearly written with tongue in cheek, the early drafts of "Recall" were all played pretty straight. There was a scene in one of those drafts that I loved dearly, right as Quaid is forced to confront an alley full of men. He's got no idea what to do, and then his body snaps in and he kills everyone, bare-handed, only to end up shaken and freaked out by what he just did. I loved the idea of Richard Dreyfuss playing that scene because we'd be just as surprised by »

Jaws: Officially terrifying swimmers for 40 years

8 July 2015 9:30 AM, PDT | Cineplex | See recent Cineplex news »

The tagline for Jaws — “Don’t go in the water” — proved prophetic as millions of people instead spent the summer of 1975 packed in dark theatres terrified by a film that would change movie history.

Jaws is Hollywood’s first summer blockbuster and the first film to earn more than $100-million at the box office.

The ingredients for its success were all in place; it was based on a bestseller, opened in 465 theatres across North America (that was a wide release back then), and bombarded people with a TV commercial — featuring a female swimmer being bitten by an unseen shark — that ratcheted up interest.

And, of course, it’s one terrific film. Director Steven Spielberg’s second feature finds a tourist town’s police chief (Roy Scheider), a shark expert (Richard Dreyfuss) and a surly fisherman (Robert Shaw) hunting the great white shark that’s been munching on vacationers. It’s »

"The shark isn't working!" 14 classic behind-the-scenes pictures as Jaws hits 40

20 June 2015 1:30 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

"The shark isn't working!"

The above was a familiar cry during the making of Steven Spielberg's blockbuster classic Jaws. In an era before CGI, it was down to a giant mechanical great white (known as Bruce) to strike fear into audiences.

Unfortunately, the rubber recreation never quite functioned to the crew's wishes, leaving Spielberg to use John Williams's score and a point-of-view camera perspective to do most of the heavy lifting.

It proved to be a masterstroke - not seeing the beast made it ever-more terrifying, and when we did get a glimpse it was fast and violent.

As Jaws celebrates its 40th anniversary today, we look go behind the scenes with 14 classic pictures below.

1. Steven Spielberg makes a phone call beneath a terrifying piece of Jaws artwork

2. 'Bruce' takes a bite out of fishing boat Orca

The Nightmare of 'Jaws': 10 on-set disasters that plagued Spielberg's 1975 classic

"When I think of 'Jaws' I think about courage and stupidity. And I think of both of those things existing underwater." That's a quote from Steven Spielberg on his time directing the 1975 horror classic, which turns 40 this Saturday. Proving that sometimes greatness can spring from unimaginable misery, the film was famously a nightmare to shoot, with numerous production problems including the frequent malfunctioning of "Bruce," the collective name given to the film's trio of animatronic sharks. But don't take my word for it. Below are ten hellish behind-the-scenes straight from the mouths of those involved that will make you wonder how they managed to finish the film at all. 1.
