'Big Hero 6' Voice Actor Hints at Possible Sequel or Short

11 March 2015 3:15 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

After taking in more than $600 million at the box office, and winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature last month, many fans are hoping that Disney will pull the trigger on a sequel to Big Hero 6, but the studio has not made an official announcement at this time. Of course, since the movie is based on a Marvel comic book, there are surely more stories to be told in this universe, although directors Don Hall and Chris Williams recently revealed that they have no current plans to make a follow-up. While doing press for her action-thriller Run All Night, Genesis Rodriguez, who voiced Honey Lemon in Big Hero 6, says that she has heard "rumblings" of a sequel in the works at Disney.

"There's rumblings of something else happening. I mean yesterday I just saw that it's the third most grossing Disney animated feature, so this is huge for them. »

Dwayne Johnson, James Cromwell, Tim Robbins, Vince Vaughn, Tyler Perry and Liam Neeson all share one thing in common; they are all over 6ft 4’’. Movie Review – Big Hero 6 (2015)

28 January 2015 11:26 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Big Hero 6, 2015.

Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams.

Featuring the voice talents of Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Daniel Henney, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., James Cromwell and Alan Tudyk.

Synopsis:

The special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.

With Pixars’ John Lasseter and Edwin Catmull involved, you know they’ve probably done well, and in Big Hero 6, there is very little disappointment. This is the next film to surface after the “redemption quadtrilogy” of The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Wreck It Ralph (a personal favourite), and the musically unending smash hit Frozen. Since bringing these guys in, Disney have totally turned it around, with some saying that Pixar has actually taken a little hit in creativity since Catmull and Lasseter assumed control of both studios. »

‘Big Hero 6′ Review

Stars: Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Jamie Chung, Daniel Henney, T.J. Miller, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, James Cromwell, Alan Tudyk, Maya Rudolph, Abraham Benrubi | Written by Jordan Roberts, Daniel Gerson, Robert L. Baird | Directed by Don Hall, Chris Williams

Cursory Wikipedia research suggests that Disney’s latest animated feature bears little resemblance to the Marvel property on which it is based. Which is fine; feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s exactly a horde of Big Hero 6 fans to outrage. Disney’s film is certainly a lot more cutesy than the source material. At no point does Baymax, the movie’s inflatable, medical robot, transform into a ‘battle dragon’. Rather, he is the creation of Tadashi Hamada, a university student who tragically dies in a fire shortly before successfully inspiring his younger brother, Hiro, to make more of his outrageous »

Thanks for Noticing, Golden Guy: Top Ten Oscar-Nominated Actor Acknowledgements

25 January 2015 1:16 AM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

The 87th Academy Award nominations for 2015 were recently released on January 15, 2015 representing the excellence in film for the previous year. Naturally there was the standard controversy regarding those films and performances that got unfairly overlooked. Unfortunately, the perceived snubs do happen from year to year so this goes along with the territory. Nevertheless, the lucky selections that do manage to grab Oscar’s attention are understandably grateful and psyched to see if the golden statuette will in fact go home with them on the film industry’s biggest and most elegant evening.

With the obvious crankiness of Oscar omissions aside and the injustices that go with these “reel” deals has anyone ever considered the Academy Award nominees that are surprisingly recognized that could have gone unnoticed for whatever reasoning? After all there are films and exceptional performances that get lost in the shuffle but manage to get the accolades it »

American Horror Story: Freak Show – Episode 12 Review

16 January 2015 1:20 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Alice Rush reviews the twelfth episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show

The penultimate episode of Freak Show, ‘Show Stoppers’, I feel represents my view on the whole series; it has some great moments but altogether loses out on a lack of fluidity and consistency. No doubt that it has some of the truly gory and horrifying scenes of the show so far but it’s not enough to salvage what has unfortunately turned out to be a bit of a disappointing series.

After last week saw Elsa learn the truth from Maggie the pre-credit sequence focuses solely on Stanley. Masking as a going away part for Elsa the freaks lure him in before revealing they know all about his plans, and, well, they’re pretty damn mad about it. Captured and with no way out we do not see what becomes of him until the very end of the episode. »

‘Citizen Kane’ Set for First-Ever Screening at Hearst Castle (Exclusive)

16 January 2015 6:30 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Orson Welles’ iconic “Citizen Kane” has been set for its first-ever showing at Hearst Castle on March 13 as part of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

The movie will be screened at the private theater at the massive hilltop estate — the inspiration for Xanadu in “Citizen Kane” — for about 50 people. Tickets will cost $1,000 each and proceeds will benefit the festival and The Friends of Hearst Castle preservation group.

The Hearst family became a part of the festival in 2012 when William Randolph Hearst’s grandson Steven Hearst agreed to a first-ever screening of “Citizen Kane” at the Hearst Castle visitor center, two miles away from Hearst Castle — even though his grandfather had tried unsuccessfully to suppress the 1941 film. Steven Hearst had said then that enough time has passed for the family to acknowledge the artistic achievement of the film, while attempting to set the record straight about Hearst.

Stanley Got Stabbed in the Crotch on ‘American Horror Story’ Last Night

15 January 2015 5:00 AM, PST | VH1.com | See recent VH1.com news »

Someone got stabbed in the crotch last night on American Horror Story: Freak Show, and that wasn’t even the most gruesome thing that happened. Ryan Murphy is making sure Freak Show goes out with a bang — and by bang, we mean Emma Roberts getting cut in half.

Last night’s episode was by far the most shocking yet. From unexpected deaths to surprising deals, calling the hour “Show Stoppers” is a bit of an understatement. “Heart Stoppers” would be more appropriate, but we’re not calling the shots over at FX (yet).

To process what went down last night, we’ve broken down the episode into its craziest moments. (And that includes someone actually going crazy  — *cough* Neil Patrick Harris *cough.*)

Stanley gets stabbed in the penis.

We open up the episode with the freaks having a farewell party for Elsa, who is leaving for Hollywood. Stanley is there, »

But did he or didn't he? We caught up with Tom to get some clues, including why he thought Erich was an alien and why he's not as much of a baddie as you might think...

Murder in the First is your first regular TV show – what was it about this show that made you want to sign up?

"It was tough, to be honest with you. I'm so not used to this idea of signing up to a ten-part series, and essentially we were signing up on the basis of a single episode, »
