Elijah Blue Allman, Cher’s son, objected to his mother’s efforts to place him under a conservatorship, arguing that he doesn’t need one and that Cher is “unfit to serve” as his conservator.
Allman filed the objection last week, rebuffing his mother’s arguments that she should gain control of his finances because of his struggles with mental health and substance abuse issues. Allman also objected on the grounds that, if he needed a conservatorship, Cher does not have priority since Allman was still married.

The 30th edition of amfAR’s Cannes gala now has a host: Demi Moore.
The actress has been tapped for an official role at the glitzy event, which will take place at the end of this year’s Cannes Film Festival on May 23. She will be joined at the gala by Cher, who is confirmed to take the stage as the night’s musical headliner. It marks a reunion for the organization and the two stars as Cher and Moore were part of the event’s early success, attending and chairing Cannes’ amfAR galas in 1996 and 1997, respectively.
“We are excited and grateful to have Demi Moore back with amfAR in Cannes. She joined us at the gala in 1997, helping to raise critical funds for AIDS research, and she has been a loyal supporter ever since,” said amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost.

Beyoncé recently sampled Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” in her new track “Ya Ya.” Sinatra revealed she once begged an icon from a different medium to use that song. He made Sinatra’s dream come true, but in the process, he created a scene with a troubling undercurrent.
Nancy Sinatra wanted ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin” in a famous movie
Sinatra’s cover of Cher’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” was used quite literally in a sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. During a 2004 interview with Hot Press, Sinatra discussed this scene. “I’m a huge Tarantino fan, so him choosing me over Sonny & Cher was very humbling,” she opined. “I had a similar experience when a year before Full Metal Jacket came out I got word that Stanley Kubrick wanted ‘Boots’ for the soundtrack. Demi Moore, 61, Dares to Bare in Crystal Mesh Gown at Dal Cuore alle Mani Dolce & Gabbana Exhibition
I’ve always admired Demi Moore. Her incredible figure and daring yet classy red carpet style never disappoint. One of her most notable red-carpet moments to date came at the Dolce & Gabbana 40th anniversary gala, where she wore a glittering sheer gown from the Italian luxury fashion house, no less.
Demi Moore was among the celebrities invited to the inauguration of the Dal Cuore alle Mani (From the Heart to the Hands) exhibition at Palazzo Reale. In addition to honoring Dolce & Gabbana’s legacy, the exhibition celebrates Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s creative process, including the Italian artisans and cultural heritage that influenced their work.
Other guests include Lupita Nyong’o, Lily James, Naomi Campbell, Olivia Culpo, Helen Mirren, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Cher. All wore breathtaking outfits, but I think the evening’s most eye-catching dress belonged to Demi Moore.

“American Idol” judge Katy Perry isn’t worried about showing favoritism on what is potentially her last season on the ABC reality TV singing competition. During Sunday night’s episode, the “Firework” singer let it be known that she hopes Abi Carter goes all the way on Season 22. The 21-year-old Platinum Ticket winner sang “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by Hillside United for her Top 24 performance, earning a standing ovation from the judges.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it, but you’re my favorite,” Katy said while shrugging her shoulders. “I just think you are so gifted. When you first came to us you sang a Billie Eilish song and it was just like, oh my gosh, you can do a Hillside song? This is our third time hearing you sing. You may recall that this January, Sir Elton John became the 19th person ever to win the coveted Egot by claiming his first Emmy. But what you may be less familiar with is the fact that Emma Stone can become just the 20th actress (and the 25th entertainer overall) to claim an Eggocc if she triumphs in the race for the Best Drama Actress prize at this year’s Emmy Awards for her performance in the Paramount+/Showtime series “The Curse.” Too, Robert Downey Jr. is poised to be only the sixth actor to claim an Eggocc should he take home the Emmy prize in September for Best Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor for his work in the HBO limited series “The Sympathizer.”
What is an Eggocc, you ask? Why, it’s Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar and Critics Choice statuettes, of course. And as just alluded to, winning all four...

Paramount Pictures had good reason to believe Adrian Lyne's "Fatal Attraction" would be another box office smash for the hit-making studio (which had just dominated 1986 with five of the ten highest-grossing movies of that year — including the top two in "Top Gun" and "Crocodile Dundee"), but they couldn't have anticipated the film becoming a full-blown, adult-skewing blockbuster. Nevertheless, the erotic thriller about an extramarital fling that turns into a waking nightmare for the happily married Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) outperformed such heavy hitters as "Beverly Hills Cop II," "The Untouchables," and "Lethal Weapon" to become the second highest-grossing film of 1987 (behind the four-quadrant behemoth "Three Men and a Baby").
Why was the film such a pop cultural sensation? Every single element clicked perfectly into place. Lyne brought the sensual heat, James Dearden's screenplay tightened the screws with nerve-jangling precision, and the stars absolutely smoldered. Douglas and Glenn Close...

Many fans of The Voice were unhappy when they watched the recent episode of NBC’s singing competition show.
While viewers expected to see a specific stage of the competition, it didn’t air this week.
The Knockouts stage performances weren’t part of the episode and will air next week on The Voice.
Instead of seeing these new performances, viewers saw highlights from previous episodes in Season 25 and a recap of the Blind Auditions and Battles.
That abrupt schedule change in the performances led to some fans venting about the show.
Viewers also speculated about the reason for the schedule change, as other significant events aired on television.

Jennifer Hudson was not on her best behavior at the iHeartRadio Music awards show last night. During her performance, a duet with a true music icon, she appeared to some as trying to upstage the talented singer standing next to her. Fans were not happy with the former American Idol contestant’s loud and rude behavior and were quick to call her out about it.
The Duet With Cher
The loud and rude behavior Jennifer Hudson exhibited was during her duet with Cher. This pair was supposed to be singing ‘Do You Believe in Life After Love?,” one of Cher’s most beloved songs. Instead, Hudson turned the duet into a disaster.
Jennifer Hudson and Cher started out their duet by holding hands during their performance. They appeared to be feeding off of each other’s talent and energy. Then, the song took a turn and was ruined.

Focus Features has acquired worldwide rights to Carey Mulligan comedy “The Ballad of Wallis Island,” Variety can confirm exclusively.
They will release the film in the U.S. while Universal Pictures International is handling global distribution.
The film, which was previously titled “One For The Money,” is directed by James Griffiths (“Cuban Fury”) and produced by Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow productions (“Philomena”).
The screenplay was written by Tom Basden (“After Life”) and Tim Key (“Great Expectations”), who also star in the film alongside Sian Clifford (“Fleabag”) and Akemnji Ndifornyen (“Famalam”).
“The Ballad of Wallis Island” tells the story of Charles (played by Key), an eccentric lottery winner who tries to reunite his favorite musical duo Mortimer-McGwyer (Mulligan and Basden) despite the fact they split up many years ago. Making things even more awkward, the musicians – Nell Mortimer and Herb McGwyer — were also once romantically involved with each other a la Sonny and Cher.

Though the Human Rights Campaign gala on Saturday night in Los Angeles contended with a brief interruption by protestors calling for a Gaza ceasefire, the annual stayed largely on course, serving as a rallying cry for Democratic candidates and the LGBTQ+ community.

Trisha Paytas is telling me about the last time she got yelled at on the internet.
It was after a Halloween episode of her podcast, Just Trish, in which the influencer and YouTuber dressed as her then-obsession, the Weeknd in the HBO series The Idol. Wearing pale-pink hospital scrubs, a fake soul patch, and a do-rag, Paytas argued to her co-host, Oscar Gracey, that being a “full-time stay-at-home parent is 10 times harder than someone who can leave.” She referred to the nonparenting labor of working moms as “a break.” The backlash was vicious.

At the inaugural Academy Awards in 1929, native Pennsylvanian Janet Gaynor made history as the first American-born performer to win an Oscar by taking the Best Actress prize for her body of work in “7th Heaven,” “Street Angel,” and “Sunrise.” Over the subsequent 95 years, 215 more thespians originating from the United States won the academy’s favor, meaning the country has now produced 68.1% of all individual acting Oscar recipients. Considering the last decade alone, the rate of such winners is even higher, at 70.3%.
At this point, 96.8% of American-born acting Oscar victors have hailed from one of 34 actual states. Of those constituting the remainder, three originated from the federal District of Columbia, while four were born in the territory of Puerto Rico. New York (home to 49 winners) is the most common birth state among the entire group, followed by California (34), Illinois (13), Massachusetts (11), and Pennsylvania (11).

Every year, a different group of people win an Academy Award. And every year, the same woman doesn’t. Her name is Diane Warren, she’s one of the greatest American songwriters of the last several decades, and she’s now been nominated 15 times without taking home a single competitive Oscar.
Once upon a time, that lack of recognition was regrettable because Warren had penned some of the most immortal tracks in the modern history of the Best Original Song category, including “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” from “Mannequin,” “How Do I Live” from “Con Air,” and the epochal “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” from “Armageddon.” These days, the fact that Warren hasn’t won is mostly regrettable because she refuses to stop trying.

In January, prolific songwriter Diane Warren received her 15th Academy Award nomination in the best song category for “The Fire Inside,” for the film “Flamin’ Hot,” directed by Eva Longoria. On March 10, Warren held onto her Oscar record in the category for more nominations without a single win when she lost to Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell for their “Barbie” song “What Was I Made For?”
But Warren doesn’t have much time to wallow in self pity. The songwriter, whose catalogue includes “Only Love Can Hurt Like This,” “Un-Break My Heart,” and “If I Could Turn Back Time,” is due in Austin on March 12 for the SXSW premiere of Bess Kargman’s documentary “Diane Warren: Relentless.”
It’s a doc that multiple nonfiction helmers have attempted to make, which isn’t surprising since Warren has penned nine No. 1 and 33 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and is tied for...

Kurt Russell was born on March 17, 1951, in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks. He started acting at the age of 12 on various television programs. In the 1960s he was signed to a 10-year contract with Walt Disney, which led to his appearance in many of the Disney films of the era. According to the late Robert Osborne of TCM (via Wikipedia), he became the studio’s top star of the 1970s.
Those Disney appearances did typecast Russell a bit and he would be stuck playing many roles that were somewhat wholesome in nature. He would turn that image around when director John Carpenter (fresh from the surprise blockbuster success of “Halloween”) cast him in the lead role of Elvis Presley in a TV movie called “Elvis!” That television film was really the first time Russell was taken seriously as an actor and it earned him an Emmy nomination. Few people better capture the sublimity and silliness of today’s red carpet spectacle than the artist Angelica Hicks.
The 31-year-old Brooklyn-based Brit started her career as a cheeky illustrator, making a name for herself with fashion drawings that featured winking wordplay, like a model wearing Ysl logo earrings with the caption “Yves Dropping.” (Get it?)
But one day, on a whim, she took to Instagram to replicate a runway look she saw by cutting a hole in a shopping bag and wearing it as a squared-off top. Her ingenuity garnered enthusiastic online praise, so she continued, duplicating a model in a ruffled blouse and cloche hat using crumpled tissues and a mixing bowl. “The humor is in approximating the look as closely as possible,” Hick says. “So it’s this perfectionism mixed with the absurd and a little English deadpan.”
Just a few years later, Hicks now has a...

Plenty of fans would love to meet Elvis Presley‘s ghost. Notably, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s specter is a character in Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis.” Cohn said the tune is more about his feelings about religion than his feelings about the “Heartbreak Hotel” singer. Regardless, it’s one of the most beloved tunes to mention Elvis.
Marc Cohn’s ‘Walking in Memphis’ made part of Elvis Presley’s Graceland very famous
“Walking in Memphis” is a tribute to the titular city, referencing famous musicians such as W. C. Handy and Al Green. A song like that wouldn’t be complete without a tip of the hat to the “Can’t Help Falling in Love” singer, a Memphis resident. One of the song’s verses focuses on Elvis. Most people can’t wear a sheer dress to work or diaper-inspired shorts to a social outing. But celebrities can get away with a lot. They are exposed to the latest fashion trends. And they often do their best to stand out from the rest. This can lead to some wild style choices, especially during Fashion Month. Here are the wackiest looks spotted at Paris Fashion Week 2024.

Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige may not be the best Cher impersonator, but after Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, we can confidently call her the lip sync assassin of Season 16.
Following a lackluster performance in this week’s Wednesday-themed design challenge, which found the contestants channeling their inner goths on the runway, the self-proclaimed Queen of Flips once again landed in the bottom two. For those keeping score at home (aka all of us), this marked Mhi’ya’s third time having to lip sync for her life, resulting in a humbling experience for the Miami-based entertainer.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth produced a script for a Cher biopic – but the star has rejected the screenplay. More here.
If we go all the way back to May of 2021, it was reported that Cher had given the idea of a biopic of her life story the go ahead. It was being set up at Universal Pictures, and was being produced by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman, along with Cher. Craymer and Goetzman had produced Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, in which Cher has a memorable cameo.
At that point it was announced that Cher’s “dear dear friend”, screenwriter Eric Roth, had been recruited to pen the screenplay. That’s the Eric Roth who won a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for Forrest Gump, and who recently matched the record for penning the most films nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award.
Eric Roth is also the latest guest on the Film Stories podcast,...
