Will Smith may have fallen in love with Stockard Channing on the set of 1993’s Six Degrees of Separation, but Channing only felt “motherly” to the rising star, who was 23 and a newly married, first-time father at the time.
Channing — who earned an Oscar nomination playing a New York socialite who connects with a young con artist played by Smith in the film — opened up about working with the rising star in a new episode of The Hollywood Reporter‘s It Happened in Hollywood podcast.
“He made a lot [of money] from his music, or even Fresh Prince [of Bel-Air],” Channing said. “Because I remember we talked about it.” Despite his massive success in music and TV at a young age, “there was no big shot stuff at all” about Smith, she said.
“He had a real survival instinct in him,” Channing added, “which was completely perfect for the part. [There was a] genuine charm and a lovely sweetness about him.

This article contains major spoilers for multiple movies.
A movie's end should bring a sense of closure, and leave audiences feeling satisfied. While a good ending shouldn't be entirely predictable (some of the best movies have had surprising conclusions), it should certainly match what came before it. Sometimes, however, an ending will miss the mark. It might try to be too clever or come as such a huge surprise that it doesn't provide any satisfaction for the audience, or leaves them wanting more.
A great movie will make sure that the audience gets attached to its characters. As such, the ending should fit their journey, but they may surprise viewers in an unpleasant way. These bad endings sometimes sacrifice previously established goodwill in favor of an unearned surprise. Others go too far and shatter the audience's suspension of disbelief.

Let’s salute the 15 greatest depictions of fictional commanders in chief, ranked from worst to best, that have appeared both on TV series and in movies. Known sometimes by the name of Potus (President of the United States), we’ve got a large variety chosen for our photo gallery.
Two of the top characters featured are both from the mind of Oscar and Emmy winner Aaron Sorkin. He wrote the Rob Reiner film “The American President” starring Michael Douglas in the title role and Annette Bening as a potential romance. The best movies showcase the abilities of filmmakers to explore a range of emotions and feelings. The best of these provide uplifting and inspirational moments that can change the tone of the story for the better. Whether in feel-good comedies or touching high fantasy movies, audiences love moments that take them by surprise in how positive and motivational they can be.
The power to move and inspire the viewer is something many filmmakers and actors strive for, though some pull it off better than others. This can be achieved through powerful speeches, catchy musical numbers, and great displays of friendship, some of which end up defining their movie. Audiences love and often seek out uplifting and emotional stories, and many are worth a look.

"Knuckles" is a live-action spinoff series of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise, shining the spotlight on Sonic's former rival. The series follows the echidna warrior Knuckles as he trains deputy sheriff Wade Whipple in an unlikely buddy-buddy relationship. Idris Elba is reprising his role as the voice of Knuckles, providing a sense of continuity with the "Sonic" movies, and Sonic himself will make guest appearances.

Knuckles, the Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series, stars Idris Elba as the fierce warrior echidna and follows his adventures on planet Earth. The series takes place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3 and focuses on Knuckles training Wade to become an echidna warrior. Knuckles features an impressive ensemble cast, including Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.
Considering how the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise almost skidded to a halt thanks to its "ugly Sonic" design, the little blue critter is now one of Paramount's biggest hits. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is off and running (pun intended). Not long ago, the official movie’s social media account released a short announcement trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in addition to the announcement that Jim Carrey, who had been circling around the decision to retire, will in fact return as the eggman himself, Dr. Robotnik. The third installment in the series teased the crossover of another character from the Sega game’s universe, Shadow, as the latest addition to the hedgehog family. Paramount has also now released the trailer for the Paramount+ limited series, Knuckles.

You've seen these super-powered critters save the world a time or two, but what America and the world at large really want to know is ... what do they do on their day off? Apparently, for alien heroes with a taste for battle, that involves makeshift gladiatorial arenas and a never-ending quest for vengeance. That's courtesy of the popular breakout character from "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," which featured Idris Elba's dulcet tones as the voice of Knuckles. Now, ahead of this year's release of the third "Sonic" film, everybody's favorite red echidna is getting his own spin-off series titled, fittingly enough, "Knuckles."
The much more serious-minded character was a natural choice to expand the "Sonic" universe in live-action, but Paramount threw everyone a curveball when it was announced that the "Knuckles" spinoff would take the form of a streaming series on Paramount+. But if it wasn't already clear before, it...

Practical Magic is a beloved feminist cult classic with romantic drama and scary elements, making it perfect for a girls' night or watching with a Bff. The film centers around the Owens family, cursed to have any man who loves them meet a horrible fate, and their journey to break the curse. A sequel to Practical Magic is not only obtainable but also timely, with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock at the perfect age to reprise their roles as the matriarchs of the family in the present day.
To say that Practical Magic is a beloved masterpiece is an understatement. The film has garnered quite a following over the years for being a feminist cult classic full of whimsical romantic drama and some genuinely scary elements despite not being an actual horror movie. Rumors of a sequel have been making the rounds on the internet for quite some time now.

Despite initially receiving poor reviews and underperforming at the box office, Practical Magic has gained a dedicated cult following over the years. The film's mix of multiple genres, including horror, comedy, and romance, was a source of criticism, but it has also contributed to its unique appeal. Practical Magic showcases strong, independent women and has resonated with viewers who relate to the complex, multi-faceted female characters in the film.

Sonic the Hedgehog will start shooting its next movie in September, prioritizing scenes without actors due to the ongoing strike in Hollywood. Paddington in Peru will also continue filming without US actress Rachel Zegler, as most of its cast is not part of Hollywood unions. A spinoff series centered on the character Knuckles is in development, set to be released before the third Sonic movie in 2024, exclusively on Paramount+.
As the actors and writers from Hollywood continue to strike asking for better working conditions, new regulations on residual payments and in the use of AI, among other things, some productions have managed to continue and Sonic the Hedgehog will be one of them.
After two extremely successful installments and kind of inaugurating a new glorious era for video game adaptations, Sonic the Hedgehog is coming back with a third film and also a tv show as a spinoff, but plans...

“Men in Black” may be one of Will Smith’s most iconic roles, but he almost passed on the project.
“I kind of understood ‘Men in Black’ a little bit, but I didn’t want to make ‘Men in Black.’ That was the next year after ‘Independence Day,’ so I didn’t want to make two alien movies back-to-back,” Smith told Kevin Hart on the comedian’s Peacock talkshow, “Hart to Heart.”
It was Smith’s manager James Lassiter, also known as J.L., who first suggested the project to him. But it was “Men in Black’s” producer Steven Spielberg who got the yes.
Spielberg sent a helicopter to pick up Smith and take him to his house. “He flew me in, and he said the coldest s–t. He said ‘Tell me why you don’t want to make my movie,'” Smith said. “And he put the ellipses at the end.

After establishing herself as one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses in the mid-’90s with movies like Speed and While You Were Sleeping, Sandra Bullock teamed up with three other established actresses — Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest — for the movie Practical Magic. Though the film didn’t get great reviews at the time, and it fell short of breaking even at the box office, it has since established itself as a cult classic. Regardless of its performance, Bullock remembers the film as being incredibly fun to shoot, thanks to the rapport she shared with her co-stars. The final sequence of Grease is one of the most iconic moments in film history but also one of the most controversial. After spending the movie as a shy good girl, Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) gets a makeover into a sexy bad girl, trading poodle skirts for skintight pants and straight hair for a curly look. She and Danny (John Travolta) also sing "You're The One That I Want" to the delight of generations of fans. But the scene is either fun and sexy or demeaning and sexist, depending on who's asked.
What a lot of the takes on the scene seem to miss is that it is not a scene that exists in isolation; it's only part of the entire story. Sandy is the film's co-protagonist, part of the most prominent couple in the movie, which largely follows Sandy and Danny with their respective cliques. Sandy and Danny want to...

Even with the ongoing WGA strike grinding Hollywood to a halt, seemingly nothing can stop Paramount from moving forward with plans for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. According to the film industry-related website Production List, cameras will roll on the threequel in London on August 31, 2023.
While details about Sonic the Hedgehog 3 remain a mystery, the sequel will likely introduce more fan-favorite characters from the more-popular-than-you-would-ever-think franchise, including Shadow the Hedgehog, who Paramount teased during an after-credits scene for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. While Shadow is a known quality, Sonic fans hope the film series is planning to introduce more characters, including Amy Rose, Big the Cat, Rogue the Bat, Cream the Rabbit, Vector the Crocodile, and more. So far, there has yet to be a word if Jim Carrey will return to reprise his role as Dr. Robotnik.

New York based actor, producer, filmmaker and former Capetonian – Stelio Savante – has joined thousands of South Africans in celebrating the South African Supreme Court’s ruling on citizenship. The court summary declared that it was constitutionally invalid for South Africans to lose their citizenship when acquiring those from other nations. The ruling comes after the Democratic Alliance (Da) appealed a high court order that originally dismissed the party’s application that the legislation was inconsistent with the South African constitution. However this new ruling reinstated Sa citizenship for all those who lost it.

Joseph Fiennes reveals his role as Michael Jackson in the series Urban Myths was an experience he deeply regrets.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Fiennes opened up about the controversial 2017 episode of the Sky Arts anthology series based on the real story of how Jackson, Marlon Brando (Brian Cox) and Elizabeth Taylor (Stockard Channing) tried to flee New York following the tragic events of 9/11. Jackson fans were so outraged by Fiennes's casting of the King of Pop that the Urban Myths episode was pulled before it was set to air. Now Fiennes says to The Observer that Jackson fans were "absolutely right to be upset" about his role.

When Joesph Fiennes announced plans to play Michael Jackson in a pulled episode of Sky Arts‘ anthology series Urban Myths, the news left people aghast. While the series flew beneath the radar, information about Fiennes playing the Gloved One spread like wildfire across social media. Images of Fiennes as the King of Pop accompanied the announcement, with the actor looking like a melting wax figure in a black fedora while riding in a car with Marlon Brando (Brian Cox) and Elizabeth Taylor (Stockard Channing). The episode features the trio on a post-9/11 road trip, with a “lighthearted” tone. I’m unsure what to make of this information, and neither is Fiennes, who, while talking with The Observer, expressed regret about taking on the role.
