'Private Practice's' KaDee Strickland on Charlotte's journey: 'There is no going home'

11 November 2010 11:00 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"Every survivor you talk to has a different story. Every single one. This is Charlotte King's story. No one else's."

This is what KaDee Strickland told Zap2it when we spoke with her about her character's journey after being brutally raped on "Private Practice." In Thursday night's (Nov. 11) episode we learned that Charlotte's journey may be moving forward faster than she'd like when Addison (Kate Walsh) reveals to Sam (Taye Diggs) that Charlotte was raped. Sam then tries to talk Violet, (Amy Brenneman) who is also a survivor, into speaking with Charlotte. It seems every character will slowly begin to realize what exactly has happened to her, which Strickland says will feel like yet another violation to Charlotte.

"One thing that I learned from survivors, in those first months especially, the idea that anyone violates them. It could be specific. Moving something on someone's desk can set them off," she explains. »

'Private Practice': Will Addison betray Charlotte's trust?

11 November 2010 10:00 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you don't want to know major story lines about Thursday's (Nov. 11) episode of "Private Practice."

Addison (Kate Walsh) is in quite the moral predicament after Charlotte (KaDee Strickland) confided in her that she was brutally raped in last week's episode. Addison tries to perform a rape kit, but Charlotte vehemently refuses. She also is feeling overwhelmed with a need to talk to Sam (Taye Diggs), but can't because she promised Charlotte she would keep her secret.

In a clip from tonight's episode "What Happens Next," we see Addison reveal to Sam that she did actually perform the rape kit without Charlotte's consent. "I did something the other night, a rape kit," she says while the couple is in bed. "She didn't want it. She was upset and I thought she might want the DNA later so I went ahead and did it anyway."

Private Practice Cast Previews "Powerful" Episode

"It's not anything that the audience can't handle." - KaDee Strickland

By "it," the beautiful and talented actress is referring to her character Charlotte's sexual assault and brutal beating in tonight's episode of ABC's Private Practice.

Covered in prosthetic cuts, scrapes and bruises, KaDee spoke to TV Guide about the story arc, which began at the end of last week's episode, "All in the Family."

Charlotte (KaDee Strickland) and Addison (Kate Walsh) in the aftermath of the attack.

It was a moment fans won't soon forget. Charlotte walked out of her office at the hospital only to encounter a deranged man whose face viewers have yet to see.

After a harsh smack, the assailant (played by Buffy alum Nicholas Brendon) shoved Charlotte back into her dark office as the episode ominously faded to black.

[TV] Private Practice: Complete Third Season

27 September 2010 10:00 AM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Ah, Private Practice…now into its fourth season, this inevitable Grey’s Anatomy spin-off continues to reel viewers in weekly. Looking at the third season, its almost laughably easy to see why – the show is comfort food bathed in sunny California tones and fitted with a cast of beautiful people who have problems (just like the rest of us!). The show gambles on its audience, assuming that people will tune in every week for easy watching, a liberally-minded drama with just enough tantalizing TV sex appeal to make it work. When it pays off, you are provided with satisfying and involving B+ grade television. When it doesn’t…

I must take a moment to mention an absolutely brilliant feature that will immediately cement me in the mind of Pp fans as an unreliable source. Under “Episode Selection”, the DVD features a "Private Practice “starter kit””, a summary of the last »
