In London Has Fallen, the stellar cast of Gerard Butler (300), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story), Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black), Sean O’Bryan (Vantage Point), and Morgan Freeman (Lucy) reprises their original roles from Olympus Has Fallen, joined by Alon Moni Aboutboul (The Dark Knight Rises), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Charlotte Riley (Edge of Tomorrow), and Waleed F. With every powerful world leader set to attend, the funeral should be the most protected event on Earth. Yet within moments of arriving, heads of government are assassinated and London landmarks are attacked. Asher, Banning, and Jacobs are ambushed and retreat amidst a hail of gunfire and explosives. The devastated British capital goes into lockdown. Banning will stop at nothing to secure Asher’s safe return home. Back at the White House, Vice President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) races against time brainstorming with top advisors in the Situation Room to get those trapped in London a lifeline of support and a way out. Outnumbered and outgunned, Banning reaches out for help to an English MI6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Girl Power: 5 Popular Kids' Movies Where Girls Rule

17 May 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

In 1977, Luke Skywalker blew up the Death Star; in 2015, Daisy Ridley's Rey kicked Kylo Ren's butt so hard, it rocked the galaxy. In a world where girl power is enough to awaken the Force, pink dresses and bubblegum Barbie worlds just aren't cutting it anymore -- our girls want lightsabers, bows and arrows, superpowers, and estrogen-powered role models with both brains and muscles. And why shouldn't they?

So let your girls rule flag fly high with five movies that are happy to oblige, and happy to empower.

1. 'Frozen' (2013)

You probably saw this one coming. "Frozen" packs crazily striking visuals and catchy-stuck-in-your-head melodies that helped win it the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2014, but it's the movie's emotional themes – not just its musical ones – that make it award-worthy for girls of all ages. Vegas money was on Sarah Paulson ("American Horror Story") or Mo'nique ("Bessie").• Still Eligible? Yes• Hot Streak: Kathy Bates has the most nominations in this category of any actress ever, with six nods spanning from 1996 to 2015. • Fun Fact: Olivia Cole was the first black actress to be nominated in this category and the first black actress to win. Her role? Mathilda in "Roots," a miniseries being remade in 2016. Last year, in a crowded field made up of three "American Horror Story" nominees and two major HBO players, it was the talented Regina King who took home the gold for ABC's "American Crime." 5 TV Shows to Watch If You Love Witches & Everything Supernatural

12 May 2016 10:00 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

From the Wicked Witch of the West to the sheer terror of "The Witch," our love affair -- or fearful fascination -- with witches endures. And where there are witches, you'll often find their supernatural colleagues, whether viciously murderous werewolves or sexy, glittering vampires. Whatever your poison, TV -- starting with "The Twilight Zone" and trucking on through "Hemlock Grove" -- is always ready to indulge your thirst for the witchy, the spooky, and the macabre.

'Salem' (2014 - )

Let's start with the witchiest of all witch shows -- the Wgn's "Salem" is ready to stock you up on warty noses, frog-based potions, and hexes aplenty. And that's what makes this somewhat campy, horror-tinged drama so shamelessly watchable: It eagerly embraces the world of witches -- including the quasi-historic Salem trials -- and isn't afraid to get downright soap operatic.

Ridiculous? Yes. Gory? Yes. Bloody good fun? You know the answer. »

Justice League Wasn't the Only Film George Miller Almost Directed For Warner Bros.

By now, most of us know the story of Mad Max director George Miller and his never-realized Justice League project. But did you know there was another famous film he almost went on to direct for Warner Bros.? Some of us may never get over what Justice League: Mortal could have been. Perhaps the pain will be less acute over this new information, considering the final product was a relatively well-received movie. Miller (along with Roland Joffé) were at one point set to direct Contact. Ultimately directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump), 1997's Contact starred Jodie Foster as Dr. Eleanor Arroway, a Seti scientist whose long search for alien life leads to actual discovery and more doubt than she's every experienced in life. It also starred Matthew McConaughey, Tom Skerritt, James Woods, John Hurt, and Angela Bassett. The film changed a bit from Carl Sagan »

Like most people in America, the presidential candidates on Thursday’s Scandal just wanted Annie Potts to give them her seal of approval.

Well, Pott’s character, the morally corrupt Faye Resnick Governor Louise Baker, whose golden endorsement would practically guarantee a victory in Florida. I say “practically” because, even after Baker agreed to throw her support at Team Susan — thanks to a little backroom deal with David Rosen — the Vice President watched helplessly as Hollis Doyle won the Sunshine State.
