Sebastian Stan says The Winter Soldier won’t appear in Black Panther

18 July 2017 3:40 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The last time we saw Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War, he’d been granted asylum in Wakanda, and was being put in a cryogenic sleep until such time as a cure for his brainwashing could be discovered.

Naturally, that has led to speculation amongst fans that the Winter Soldier could make an appearance in Marvel’s first superhero blockbuster of 2018, Black Panther. However, Stan has given a rather definitive answer when asked by Good Morning America about that very possibility.

“I am not in Black Panther,” said Stan, revealing that we’ll have to wait until Avengers: Infinity War to see the return of his character. “No, I’m not. I’m really not. But that gets resolved in [Infinity War].”

Carrie Fisher Receives Posthumous Emmy Nomination for Final Acting Role

13 July 2017 1:34 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Nearly seven months after her sudden death, Hollywood is still honoring Carrie Fisher.

The late actress has been posthumously nominated for an Emmy, receiving a nomination for outstanding guest actress in a comedy for her work on Amazon’s “Catastrophe.”

The episode of “Catastrophe” for which Fisher is nominated was the final project she worked on before her death. Late last year, Fisher suffered a massive heart attack while on a flight returning home to Los Angeles from London, where she had been filming episodes of the Amazon comedy series. Fisher was rushed from the plane to the hospital where she died just days later.

This summer, results from Fisher’s coroner’s report stated that the “Star Wars” icon died from sleep apnea as the primary cause of death with drug intake as a contributing factor. According to the autopsy report, Fisher had cocaine, methadone, heroin, and ecstasy in her system when she died in December »

Emmys: Even With ‘Atlanta,’ The Comedy Category is Still Frustratingly Resistant to Change

13 July 2017 12:41 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

As the Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday morning, one of the boldest new entries into this year’s awards race signaled the future of an entire category. “Atlanta,” Donald Glover’s groundbreaking FX comedy, picked up 6 nominations overall, including nods for Glover as lead actor and the series itself.

Episodes as disparate as “Streets on Lock” (where Glover’s Earn spends time in county jail) and “B.A.N.” (a surreal episode-length glimpse into programming on an imaginary cable channel) only come from a fully executed vision that has the freedom to change from week to week.
