Chicago – One of Chicago’s most popular pop culture gatherings is the Wizard World Comic Con, and the 2016 edition is building anticipation for the weekend of August 18th through the 21st. TNT made several key series announcements during its presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif.
In “The Race Card,” a limited-run series, Barkley plans to take on today’s hot-button topics by seeking out the sharpest and most varied viewpoints from cultural leaders and tastemakers.
“We as Americans never discuss the issue of race in this country and how it impacts everything in our lives until something bad happens,” Barkley said. “I see this project as a way to talk about race, class and cultural differences and challenge everyone’s status quo.”

The stars of TNT's The Last Ship made a stop at San Diego Comic Con this Thursday.
They brought with them some conversation and news about what's ahead.
Not only did they show an exclusive clip to convention goers and the incredible trailer that follows, they talked in some depth about making the series and what it means to them.
For example, it's important to get it right. Regan is playing a new character this season, and she had her work cut our for her.
“One of my favorite things about the show is the amount of effort that everyone puts into getting the Navy right and doing it justice,” she told the crowd.

On TV dramas, there often are figurative minefields. But, once in a while, there are the real kind.

TNT will air the two-hour season three premiere of The Last Ship this Sunday, June 19, at 9:00pm Et/Pt. This will push the Murder in the First season three premiere to Sunday, June 26, at 10:00pm Et/Pt. The Last Ship had originally be scheduled for Sunday, June 12. TNT's hit drama The Last Ship was one of last summer's Top 5 scripted series. In its second season, the show scored high with basic cable viewers, especially adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. Oddly enough I first saw Adam Baldwin as a mean bully in the 80s movie Reckless. That was a pretty cool movie about a rebellious type in high school who gets involved with the typical blond cheerleader. It’s a movie starring Aidan Quinn and Darryl Hannah. Baldwin is Hannah’s original boyfriend before Quinn’s rebel character moves in an woos her. Baldwin played the role of bad guy perfectly in that movie and I liked him ever since.
